Being the Department Head, what are your key responsibilities towards the students?
I strongly believe that a Teacher is not only an instructor but the friend and philosopher of students who affect their lives in great ways.
Also, the future of the next generation depends on us and we are the ones who are responsible for building a friendly environment for students so that they can grow on both personal and professional level and open up about their academic and non-academic issues with us without much difficulty. And I believe as the Department Head, I am also accountable for all this. Last but not the least, we are responsible for guiding our young minds whenever they are stuck somewhere or need a friend or motivator to bloom beautifully.
How do you establish healthy relationships with the students and fellow faculty of your institution?
For the purpose of building good relations with my students, I always ensure to provide them a comfortable and healthy learning ambiance and suitable platform where they can showcase their unique talents, express and evolve. Apart from this, I never leave any opportunity unturned, so that they can interact with others and bring better of themselves.
And when it comes to fellow faculty , I believe being supportive and helpful to each other in need or in general can build a peaceful environment for everyone. Hence I always share my opinions, listen to them carefully while interacting and we all respect each other a lot, so that a better understanding and balanced coordination among us can be formed.
How do you introduce a practical and industry- oriented approach towards subjects?
In order to enforce an industry driven and practical attitude towards subjects, we regularly organize a wide range of activities, events and workshops on campus. Industrial and field visits, extension lectures and educational trips are also planned from time to time, so that students can apply their theoretical knowledge in real life by working on small scale projects and contributing their talents in educational programs.
Apart from this, we invite Guest faculty as and when needed, for them to share their valuable experiences and advice with students, so that they can explore options available in the outside world and develop required skills on time. Lastly, our institution provides opportunities to them for internships in MNIT, Poornima University, Oswal Soap Factory etc.
What strategies do you usually implement to update the curriculum to make it befitting for the student?
Our college is affiliated with the University of Rajasthan, hence we follow the syllabus as per the university guidelines, and the modified syllabus is thoroughly followed up. Also, it is prepared according to the chemistry Classes of PG standard including 3 papers and each paper is taught by Our two teachers having expertise in that field throughout the year.
What kind of career opportunities have your students received post pursuing courses from college?
Our students have achieved great success and are working in reputed positions in their respective domains, after completing their post graduation (MSc Chemistry) from our college. Other than this, many of them have qualified competitive exams and got selected for jobs in both government and private sectors. Last but not the least, many have qualified NET, JRF and right now are pursuing their PhD.

How do you prepare your students to confidently deal with the highly competitive world?
We have adopted several strategies to ensure that after completing their respective courses, our students can compete confidently in the outside competitive world. First and foremost, we organize group discussions, seminars, conferences and guest lectures on a regular basis to develop the communication skills of students.
Also, workshops are conducted from time to time to enhance students knowledge about latest technologies, and we even counsel them about available career opportunities through Career Guidance Sessions.
What kind of extracurricular activities are organized by your college to enhance the skills of students?
In order to enhance and upgrade the skills of our students, we conduct a lot of curricular and co-curricular activities on campus. And to ensure things happen seamlessly, we even have clubs dedicated for each kind of activity followed by subject associations.
Our college also offers dedicated skill enhancement courses, organizes entrepreneurship workshops to make the students independent and build their own ideas into success. Apart from all this, we have provided them better sports facilities and they are even engaged in NSS activities.
What challenges are you facing while uplifting the education quality of your department?
There are quite a few challenges which I face while upgrading the educational quality of our department and the very first issue is that attendance of students is less than 60%. Also, they don't show much interest towards extracurricular activities which we organize in college.
They are mostly involved in their studies, completing practical files works and preparing for competitive exams due to which they are not even interested in registering for intercollege programs and other get togethering activities.
Any valuable advice which you would like to share with young minds and aspiring students of our society?
I would like to suggest to my dear students that whatever you choose to do in your life, give it your 100%, because the only way to succeed is hard work. Also, there are no shortcuts in life and falling, learning and growing are the steps of life, so don’t be discouraged by them. Rather embrace failures and always keep your mind calm and happy.
Apart from this, keep smiling and don’t make things harder for you than they are supposed to be. Start simplifying things as much as possible as life itself is complicated so better stay relaxed. Lastly you should always try to stay happy as life is short and enjoy it to the fullest when possible.
