Hyderabad, July 4, 2019: “Your parents dream about your future. Let them write it down for you, frame it, and make it the guide on the journey of your career”, advised Sri Mukul Chopra, Group Head – HR, Radius Developers, Mumbai.
As the Chief Guest on the occasion, Sri Mukul Chopra addressed students after inaugurating the XI Batch of MBA today at GITAM Hyderabad Business School (GHBS). In his address, Sri Chopra further said that the two years of MBA would be the most enjoyable years of one’s life, provided they do not deviate from their focus, not get distracted. He exhorted them to choose a career path and stick to it, without comparing themselves with even their best friend. Make your goals unique to yourself after considering your compatibility, capacity and passion.
From his experience he offered 7 P’s of success: Passion– not to be confused with emotion if one wants to be professional; Persistence – not giving up in one’s efforts; Prevalence of Karma – the belief that what we do will come back to us; Positive – always looking at the brighter side of life; Present – not dwelling on the past achievements or failures, but proving one’s worth in the present; Permanence – realizing that nothing is permanent and so staying abreast of and embracing change; Perception – not only doing but also letting people know that you are doing by way of self-marketing, but with dignity.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Prof. Y. Lakshman Kumar, Dean & Director, GHBS referred to many surveys that pointed out to the fact that only about 10-15 percent of graduates were employable. The analyses blame lack of quality systems, infrastructure, qualified faculty, outdated curriculum and pedagogical methods for this state of affairs. Prof. Lakshman said that on all these counts GHBS took special care to provide the best for the students. Illustrating this achievement, he explained how on each parameter, GITAM HBS is working towards achieving global standards. He introduced the experienced, well- qualified faculty with many achievements, and the efficient staff of the University. He attributed the phenomenal growth of the institute to the vision of Late Dr M.V.V.S. Murthi, Founder President of GITAM.
In his address, Prof. A. Sreeram, Director, Student Affairs, GITAM Hyderabad Campus, advised the newly admitted students to be regular, punctual and develop their personality. He spoke about the various opportunities available for them on GITAM Hyderabad Campus, such as Charaiveti, Kalakriti, PR & Media Cell, and NSS to hone their skills and earn certificates that will be useful to them in their career. He advised them to read a newspaper provided to them free of cost everyday and keep abreast of market affairs.
Sri D.V.V.S.R. Varma, Resident Director, GITAM Hyderabad Campus, advised the students to sharpen their ethical sense. Apart from the skills and knowledge they acquire from the institute, they should also become sensitive to their own behavior. Ignorance of ethical responsibilities may cost them their career.
