Overall, my main objective would be to facilitate student learning, foster critical thinking, and equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to succeed in the field of operations management. I do not just teach them the course material but also guide and advise them on their career choices and any doubts they have.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects and make it industry-oriented?

To bring a practical and industry-oriented approach to subjects, I incorporate real-world examples, case studies, and industry guest speakers into my teaching. I emphasize the application of theoretical concepts to practical scenarios, encourage students to engage in hands-on projects and simulations, and facilitate internships or industry collaborations whenever possible. This helps students develop a deeper understanding of how the subject matter is applied in the real business environment and prepares them for the challenges they may face in their future careers.

What are the challenges you faced/ are facing to uplift the quality of education of your department?

Some challenges I have faced in uplifting the quality of education in my department are ensuring the curriculum is up-to-date and the course content keeps pace with rapidly evolving industry trends. It is an also a challenge to address the needs of diverse student populations and create an inclusive learning environment. Balancing theoretical knowledge with practical application and providing opportunities for experiential learning is also something we are working on.
