Dr. B.L. Raju has been working as the Principal of ACE Engineering College, Hyderabad, Telangana. As part of his education, he has done B.E, M.Tech, Ph.D ( JNTUH), MISTE, FIETE, MIEEE, and MVSI. His research specializations are VLSI Design and Smart Antennas and he has 31 years of rich work experience in the teaching sector. Till date, he has published 52 research papers in international journals and 15 in national journals, authored 1 book and has 6 patents on his name.
Before joining ACE, he has worked with numerous colleges in the designation of Head of Department, Dean, Principal and Director. Throughout his professional career, he has organized 16 Conferences, 7 Refresher Programs, 24 Workshops, and himself has delivered Guest Lectures on Effective Teaching Methodologies/ VLSI / Antenna & Wave Propagation in various Colleges. Apart from this, Dr. B.L. Raju has been guiding research works of 8 students, Registered for PhD at JNTUH Hyderabad, JNTU Anantapur & JNIAS Hyderabad, on VLSI & Smart Devices.
Further, he has secured substantial grants as the Principal Investigator for MODROB and R&D projects. His leadership has also extended to private R&D projects focusing on VLSI and Smart Antennas. In addition, he has guided and implemented private R&D PROJECTS in VLSI & Smart Antennas. For his excellent contribution in the academic world, he has received the ' Best Teacher’ Award by National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (Ministry of HRD, Govt of India) Taramani, Chennai. Lastly, he is a proud member of several Scientific and Professional Societies such as MISTE, FIETE, MIEEE, MCSI, and MVSI.

What inspired you to join ACE, and how has been your journey so far with the institution?
For me, joining ACE Engineering College was more of an exciting opportunity as it converges with my passion for education and desire to contribute to the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. In addition, as I have worked with top-notch corporate giants and the Indian Army in the past, ACE's commitment to academic excellence and innovation drew me in.
And being the Principal, I look forward to leading ACE as an institution that prioritizes research, development, and provides a conducive learning environment to students. Lastly, ACE's focus on VLSI Optimization and Smart Antennas is perfectly aligned with my expertise, and offers me the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in the field.
As the Principal of ACEEC Hyderabad, how do you balance between the needs of faculty, students, and administration?
In my viewpoint, maintaining a balance between the diverse needs of faculty, students, and administration is a multi-faceted responsibility. Hence I promote open communication channels and conduct meetings regularly to gather everyone's requirements. Much-needed support for research, professional development and collaboration is also provided to our faculty.
And when it comes to students, we have initiatives like extracurricular activities, mentorship programs, and state-of-the-art facilities for their holistic growth. Lastly, on the administrative front, approaches such as strategic planning, effective resource allocation, and regular feedback mechanisms have been implemented by us.
Which features and factors make ACE different from other Engineering institutions?
Our academic rigor, research facilities and initiatives followed by a holistic approach of delivering education is what makes ACE different from others. Along with this, we give equal emphasis on theory and experiential learning, and the practice is rigorously followed for domains like VLSI Optimization and Smart Antennas.

What kind of relationship does ACE maintain with industries to provide best training, and placement opportunities to students?
Our institution emphasizes a lot on cultivating and maintaining robust relationships with renowned industries, institutions and organizations, as we know its importance in providing real-world exposure to students. And we do have a dedicated Placement Cell which works closely with industry partners to facilitate apprenticeships, training programs, and placement opportunities to our graduates.
Further, to allow students to network with the brightest minds around the world, events and activities such as industry interaction sessions, seminars, and workshops are regularly conducted by us in association with experts. We also encourage students to collaborate with each other for live projects and internships, to ensure they can develop required skills and gain practical insights valued by employers.
What are some biggest challenges that Engineering colleges face these days, and how do you address them as a Principal?
In my opinion, the need to quickly adapt to rapidly changing technologies to ensure students employability, and maintaining high academic standards are some of the biggest difficulties most of the Engineering colleges face these days.
And being a Principal, I always keep myself updated with changing industrial trends and regularly renew our college's curriculum to effectively deal with such hurdles. To enhance students' employability skills, our ACE institute regularly collaborates with our placement partners. We have developed a research-oriented culture on campus to ensure faculty and students stay at the forefront of technological advancements.
What opportunities and professional growth students may receive after joining ACEEC?
