EDHEC Business School is a specialist French business school founded in 1906, with main campuses in Lille and Nice. The Financial Times ranks its Masters in Finance #5 globally in 2026, one of Europe’s strongest positions for any specialist business school.

EDHEC operates as a Grande École, France’s category of elite post-baccalaureate business institutions with selective admission. The school runs Master in Management, MSc, Global MBA, Executive MBA and PhD programmes taught in English. Indian applicants target Master in Management, MSc Finance, MSc Data Analytics and Global MBA at MS universities in France.

  • QS Global MBA Rankings 2026: #43 worldwide
  • Acceptance rate: 25% (estimated)
  • Intakes: September (main); January (select MSc programmes)
  • Master in Management tuition (non-EU): €51,250 (₹56.4 Lakh) total for the two-year programme
  • International student mix: 35% across 130+ nationalities
  • Average Master in Finance salary: €60,218 (₹66.2 Lakh) annually

Non-EU tuition runs ₹36 Lakh to ₹58 Lakh across MSc and MBA tracks. Merit scholarships up to 50% of fees offset this, alongside the India-specific EDHEC-French Embassy Co-Financed award for Indian nationals. Graduates hold a two-year APS work visa and Master in Finance placement runs at 93% within three months.

Admission Status: Opens October 2026 (est.) for September 2027 intake. The September 2026 cycle has closed for most Indian applicants. The next cycle, for September 2027 entry, is expected to open October 2026 on a rolling basis, with the final round typically closing end-June 2027 based on the prior cycle. A separate January 2027 intake accepts applications for selected MSc programmes such as MSc Corporate Finance and Banking, listed per course page.

Popular Courses and Fees at EDHEC Business School 2027

The Master in Management runs 24 months on the Grande École pattern, MSc tracks run 15 to 18 months and the Global MBA is a 10-month accelerated programme.

EDHEC Business School Admission Requirements for Indian Applicants 2027

Indian applicants meet EDHEC Business School’s baseline requirement with a three-year bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, a standardized test score and English proficiency proof.

EDHEC Business School Requirements for PG Programmes

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree with 60% or CGPA 6.0/10 (recommended) for MSc and MiM programmes; GETT and Global MBA candidates typically score 65% or CGPA 6.5/10
  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT 92 for Masters or 95 for Global MBA; IELTS 6.5; PTE 65; TOEIC 850; Cambridge B2 First or C1 Advanced; Duolingo accepted with test scores within 2 years
  • Standardized test: GMAT 600 minimum (Global MBA), median 640 to 660; GRE equivalent accepted; TAGE MAGE and CAT accepted for Indian MiM applicants; no GMAT waivers for the Global MBA
  • Credential documents: WES evaluation of Indian degrees, certified transcripts, two letters of recommendation, essays and updated CV

EDHEC Business School Requirements for UG (International BBA)

  • Academic: Class 12 with 70% (recommended); Global Business Track applicants trend higher at 75%
  • English proficiency: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 87 or Duolingo 110 (recommended, verify at the EDHEC BBA international admissions page)

Key insight: EDHEC Business School does not grant GMAT waivers for the Global MBA under any circumstances. Indian applicants should book their GMAT slot at least four months ahead of Round 1 to leave room for one retake if the first score falls below the 640 median.

EDHEC Business School Acceptance Rate 2027

EDHEC Business School acceptance rate stands at approximately 25% (estimated), placing it among the more selective Grande École business schools in France. No official rate is published by the school; the figure is derived from cross-source aggregators and cohort intake data.

The rate reflects an applicant pool weighted toward finance, consulting and management masters, where seat competition is highest. Programmes like MSc Financial Engineering and Global MBA post lower functional acceptance rates than the school-wide average due to smaller cohort sizes.

Reality check: Indian applicants with a strong academic profile (65% or higher in bachelor’s), GMAT above 640 and a coherent career narrative typically clear Round 1 or Round 2. Waitlisting rises sharply for applicants entering only at Round 3.

EDHEC Business School Campus, Facilities and Student Life

EDHEC Business School operates across five campuses; Indian degree-seeking students concentrate on the Lille and Nice hubs, with the Paris campus reserved for MBA, executive and specialised finance tracks.

  • Location and transit: Lille campus sits in Roubaix and is 20 minutes from central Lille by metro; Nice campus is 15 minutes from Nice city centre by bus
  • Housing: No guaranteed on-campus accommodation; the housing office lists partner residences and private rentals with 60% of international students using CROUS or private studios
  • Facilities: Trading room with Bloomberg terminals, on-site Career Centre, coworking studios and free French-language classes for non-Francophone students
  • Indian community: Active Indian student association hosts Diwali, Holi and Indian food events across both French campuses each year

What Indian students say: Placement support in Finance and Data programmes is stronger than in general management, and the Paris and London recruiter network is easier to access from Nice via TGV than expected. Cost pressure hits hardest in the first three months before scholarships disburse; plan a €3,000 to €4,000 buffer.

EDHEC Business School Rankings 2027

EDHEC Business School does not appear in general-university tables like QS World or THE World because it is a specialist business school. It dominates the business-specific rankings, with the Financial Times placing its Master in Finance at #5 globally in 2026, improved from #6 in 2024.

EDHEC Business School Placements and Career Outcomes 2027

EDHEC Business School placement outcomes are strongest for the Master in Finance and Master in Management cohorts. The school reports over 90% job placement within three months for finance graduates, with a healthy split across finance, consulting and technology sectors.

  • Placement rate: 93% for Master in Finance graduates within 3 months of graduation
  • Average salary (Master in Finance): €60,218 to €69,694 (₹66.2 Lakh to ₹76.7 Lakh) annually
  • Top sectors: Finance 36%, Consulting 25%, Corporate Development, Data and Tech
  • Named recruiters: Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Deloitte and BNP Paribas (session-confirmed via placement reports)
  • Post-study work visa: France’s APS grants two years to Indian masters graduates for job search after completion

Insider note: Recruiters for Indian graduates concentrate in London, Singapore and Paris rather than domestic French roles. French proficiency at B1 level unlocks more Paris-based analyst positions but is not gate-keeping for finance or consulting recruiting.

EDHEC Business School vs Peer Universities

Compared against HEC Paris, ESSEC, ESCP and emlyon, EDHEC Business School positions itself as the finance-and-analytics specialist with more accessible admission standards and a lower fee band. The peer set below covers France’s top-five Grande École business schools.

University QS Global MBA 2026 Collegedunia Study Abroad Avg PG Fee (EUR / ₹ Lakh) Differentiator
EDHEC Business School #43 #198 €51,250 / ₹56.4 Lakh Finance and Data specialisation, FT top-5 MSc Finance
HEC Paris #1 NA €57,700 / ₹63.5 Lakh Highest brand equity, hardest admit rate in France
ESSEC Business School Ranked NA €50,000 / ₹55.0 Lakh (estimated) Luxury management depth, Asia campus presence
ESCP Business School Ranked NA €56,000 / ₹61.6 Lakh (non-EU) Six European campuses with mandatory multi-country study
emlyon Business School Ranked NA €42,000 / ₹46.2 Lakh (estimated) Entrepreneurship and early-stage venture specialist

[Source: QS Global MBA 2026, Financial Times 2026, cross-school fee pages]

EDHEC Business School differentiates on quantitative finance and applied data programmes. Its fee band sits 10% to 15% below HEC Paris and ESCP for the equivalent Masters, a meaningful gap at ₹5 Lakh to ₹7 Lakh over the programme for Indian budgets.

Indian applicants shortlisting Grande Écoles typically evaluate EDHEC against these peers on placement salary per Rupee invested, and EDHEC ranks favourably on that metric within the sub-HEC tier of French business schools.

EDHEC Business School fits the Indian applicant targeting quantitative finance, financial engineering or data analytics with a two-year outlook and an INR 65 Lakh to 70 Lakh budget for tuition plus living. The ROI anchor is direct: an average Master in Finance salary of ₹66.2 Lakh against an all-in investment near ₹68 Lakh recoups within the two-year APS window for graduates who secure a Paris, London or Singapore role.

It is not the fit for applicants prioritising general management brand cachet or luxury-consumer marketing depth, where HEC Paris and ESSEC still edge ahead. Applicants wanting a lower fee base with a Grande École stamp and broader city choice should also compare emlyon Business School alongside EDHEC before deciding.

EDHEC Business School FAQs

Ques. What is the Master in Finance placement rate at EDHEC Business School?

Ans. EDHEC Business School’s Master in Finance reports a 93% placement rate within three months of graduation, with graduates joining Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Deloitte and BNP Paribas across London, Paris and Singapore. The programme’s Financial Times rank of #5 globally in 2026 anchors employer recognition, and average starting salaries range from €60,000 to €70,000 for the most recent cohort.

Ques. Can Indian students get a GMAT waiver at EDHEC Business School?

Ans. EDHEC does not grant GMAT waivers for the Global MBA under any circumstances; the programme requires a minimum GMAT of 600 or GRE equivalent. For Master in Management applicants, EDHEC Business School accepts GMAT, GRE, TAGE MAGE or CAT scores from Indian applicants. MSc programmes may accept alternative tests such as CFA Level II depending on academic background.

Ques. How does the EDHEC-French Embassy scholarship for Indian students work?

Ans. The EDHEC-French Embassy Co-Financed Scholarship supports two Indian nationals admitted to the Master in Management with 50% tuition reductions each. Candidates must complete their application by 15 May and confirm their place by 31 May. Selection weights academic excellence, career narrative and interview performance jointly with the French Embassy in Delhi.

Ques. Are EDHEC Business School MSc programmes taught fully in English?

Ans. Yes, all EDHEC MSc programmes and the Global MBA are taught in English, so Indian applicants do not need French proficiency to enrol. French B1-level classes are offered free to non-Francophone students. B1 or higher opens more Paris-based internship and job routes, particularly in consulting and corporate finance roles at French firms.

Ques. How long is the post-study work visa for Indian graduates from EDHEC?

Ans. France grants Indian graduates from EDHEC Business School a two-year APS (autorisation provisoire de sejour) job-search visa after completing a Masters-level programme. The APS lets graduates work in any field at any wage during those 24 months. Graduates securing a full-time job aligned with their qualification can convert to the Talent Passport for longer stays.

Ques. What GMAT score do Indian applicants need for the EDHEC Global MBA?

Ans. The Global MBA at EDHEC requires a minimum GMAT of 600, but the class median sits closer to 640 to 660 for Indian applicants entering with 3 to 5 years of work experience. Strong quantitative sub-scores matter given the finance-heavy curriculum. Applicants outside this band should offset with senior work experience, CFA certification or an above-median interview performance.

Ques. Does EDHEC Business School recognise Indian education loans?

Ans. EDHEC does not run in-house loan tie-ups but is on the approved-institutions list for HDFC Credila, Avanse, Auxilo, Prodigy Finance and MPower Financing. Several fund Indian students at EDHEC Business School without a physical collateral requirement for select programmes. Public-sector banks including SBI and Bank of Baroda also finance EDHEC admits under standard overseas-education loan schemes.

Ques. Which programmes accept the January intake at EDHEC Business School?

Ans. EDHEC runs a January intake alongside the main September cycle for a limited set of MSc programmes, notably MSc Corporate Finance and Banking. The January cycle is compressed with fewer scholarship windows and roughly half the seats of September. Indian applicants targeting January 2027 should apply by late-September 2026 to allow time for visa processing and credential evaluation.

Campus Life

  • Edhec has 3 campuses as I know in France. I was in the Nice campus. It's also present in Lille and Paris.
  • All sports, dining, cafeteria and open space facilities are available in the university itself. A decent library as well.
  • There’s a freshers night; we had Diwali celebrated too. There are other events organised by the university and student communities.
  • There are student organisations in publishing editorials, then festivals as I said, etc.

Fees

  • The fees were between 24 and 25k euros. For the hostel I paid 250 euros per month. Then there are tram annual cards with a 50% discount for students. I believe the tram fare was 75-80 euros per month.
  • The fees charged were payable in 3 instalments. Once at the beginning, once at the end of the year and once at the end. Other expenses could be around 100-150 euros depending on your lifestyle.

  • Lille, Nice (only finance courses), Paris and singapore. Printing area, vending machines, food, library, study areas, areas to sit down in a group, open terrace, cafe, gymnasium. It does not have sports or medical services.
  • There are a few clubs, like the student finance club and the running club, that are popular. However, in a course that lasts 8-10 months, it is difficult to engage with them unless it is just another point to write on your CV. There are multiple festival celebrations that students conduct, and in the first month, there are engagement events for the students to mingle. There is also one major career fair.
  • It is a small campus with not many in-house facilities. So the finance and trading clubs do a few weekly publications. The running club runs with the professors. There are other clubs that charge money to take you skiing for adventure activities if it is interesting to anyone.

Fees

  • Tuition is 28000 (24000 after scholarship). It is annual
  • Residences range from 150 per month to 600 per month. 30% reimbursed approx. by the government.
  • Transport for trams and busses is 192 per year (subsidized cost for students)
  • Assume a living expense of 650 per month when saving or 1000 per month to live very well. With 1000, you can take international vacations and eat out.
  • The cheapest you can stay for is less than 500 with a small room at CROUS and buying subsidised groceries from their market.

  • EDHEC has four campuses. There is one in Lille, one in Nice, one in Paris and one is in Singapore. I studied at the Lille campus. There is a huge library, sports campus includes activities like gym, basketball, volleyball, swimming, badminton, squash, and a dance room. There is a doctor which visits weekly but you have to take appointment beforehand if you want to consult them.
  • For the events, there are many associations but for the majority of them, you need to know French. So it is difficult for Indian students to join them. There is an Indian association also, which organises Diwali and Holi events on campus. There is a sports fair held annually where students from different universities come to compete. So there are many cultural and sporting activities organised throughout the year.

Fees

  • So the fee structure is semester wise. For the first semester, it was 15000 euros, followed by 12500 euros for next two semesters. Hostel or accommodation fees are not included in this fee structure. Accommodation can vary up to 450 euros to 900 euros on where you live.
  • My monthly expenses approximately were 500 euros for rent, 50-75 euros for transport, 100-120 for groceries and 50-70 euros for miscellaneous activities.

  • There are a lot of associations in EDHEC  which give you the chance to experience different events in the campus around the whole year. there's also an association named Namaste Francais and they do celebrate Diwali and Holi.
  • That is a Chinese association with Chinese New Year, there is an association related to arts and using the system, some fashion show events. so all in all it's well rounded with a multiple options to go.

  • Masters students do not usually take part in extra curricular as there is honestly no time. The associations and clubs are mainly for the MIM students or the bachelor students. So I don not have much information on this. But I have seen that every week one of the clubs has some event and encourage all to join. Most of them have only French students unfortunately and international students are not accepted from the experience of my friends.

  • In the first week edhec helps students set up a bank account where 80 euros is given to each student when opening an account.
  • For public transport edhec also provides a service to set up your card and it is upto the student to subscribe monthly or not. This was 35 euros per month.
  • Monthly expenses including rent can be between 1000 euros to 1500 euros.
