Required Exams for Admission
Course Curriculum
- Coming from India I don't think the course level is very difficult, it is quite manageable. I would say it is a nice mix of group projects and individual projects and the good thing about that is that you have to work with a team which are all international students which function differently from you which is a good experience.
- Usually there are on an average one or two classes a day but every 1.5-2 months you have one and a half weeks of holidays. total number of students are around 80 and t and Indians in one class is around 10 overall course it is 900 students and Indians around 100.
Admission Experience
- HEC, ESSEC - Rejected (applied via JASIF - join a school in France)
ESCP - Interviewed and rejected later
EDHEC - Accepted and admitted with scholarship
SKEMA, AUDENCIA, EMLYON - Accepted - Imperial college of London - shortlisted in the waiting list but I accepted EDHEC as I was not willing to wait
- LSE (London school of economics)- rejected, they needed more GMAT score.
- Perfect course structure with 1 year of internship. Highly international with multiple nationalities
- Eligibility criteria: GMAT is not compulsory but preferred (above 620). Overall profile matters with all around performance
- Admissions process was smooth and the teams dedicated were helpful at all the steps
- Suggestions: always show you have interest in understanding the French culture and language
- I applied for GMAT in October, applied for all the colleges in November and by November I had the decision in favor of me from EDHEC. After that I had to pay my certain amount to book my seats but of course you can try and ask them to ask for more time. They might or might not give it to you it highly depends after the admission process is smooth you have to pay on fee before every semester around 10,000 Euros now it could have increased
Faculty
- The faculty is quite nice, most of the muffin inch, some are guests speakers and there were around 5 Indian professors also . what they teach is mainly in a form of a project, so that is how you learn how to over the team to know about the business and how we divide work more it is very different from Indian style of study or teaching.
- There are not much part-time the full available in the campus outside there is but the biggest barrier is a language problem that's why most of the Indians they don't do part time
Campus Life
- There are a lot of associations in EDHEC which give you the chance to experience different events in the campus around the whole year. there's also an association named Namaste Francais and they do celebrate Diwali and Holi.
- That is a Chinese association with Chinese New Year, there is an association related to arts and using the system, some fashion show events. so all in all it's well rounded with a multiple options to go.
Part Time Jobs
- That are not many options to work in campus or I am unaware of that but mostly everyone who used to work part-time used to work outside with a headache in a restaurant or a pub or babysit , dog sitting. Maximum hours 21 hours and per are the rate is almost around 14 euros. If you learn French, you can definitely work in grocery stores, but I'm sure they will test your language skills
- It is a bit difficult for Indian students to get part-time jobs because the language barrier is huge. A couple of my friends walked in a restaurant with cells workers and they used to go on the weekends because the weekdays are very busy because of the academics group projects and also we have to maintain our house and our daily chores. I would recommend you to connect with EDHEC alums and keep them checking your CV. The more you do, the better you get
Placement
- First of all the system is not like India where there are no campus placements. the companies will come to the college but you have to go to the network and make sure you connect with them later outside the campus so that you increase your probability to get an interview. T
- here are no fixed companies who come and hire students unlike India you have to work while LinkedIn another job portals and apply the career center is really helpful and they will guide you with this once you are in a EDHEC
Accommodation
- In campus accommodation for the first year and the monthly rent was around 550€. EDHEC will help you if you choose to stay on campus but for the second year of Masters you are not allowed to stay there.
- You can only stay off campus and I stayed in Roubaix, 20 mins walk to the campus. The rent was ~500€. I would recommend for students to stay in campus for 1st year and off campus in Roubaix/Croix or Lille in the 2nd year
- Beware of the scams and make sure you ask what all in inclusive before finalizing the accommodation
Exams
-
GMAT is not mandatory but it is preferred and I would say it is preferred by almost all the Business schools. EDHEC accepts around 620 to 720 GMAT score, that's what my friends also had.
-
No need of IELTS because we all come from India or if your bachelor is in English should be enough apart from that you need the statement of purpose, CV, and need a LOR from your college professors this all adds up to your profile which really helps
Fees
- The total tuition fees was around 40,000 euros and I got a scholarship of 25% also I got a scholarship of the French government it is the Eiffel excellence scholarship.
- Regarding the stay and living in France including the rent I think around 750 Euros to 900 euros will be your monthly average spend including everything but excluding the trips and travel plans you have
Scholarship
- There are three types of scholarships: the first is given by EDHEC around 10% 15% or 25% depending on your profile. Secondly there is Eiffel excellence scholarship, the college has to select you and apply on your behalf to get this scholarship from the French government around 1100 Euros per month for the whole academic Year.
- Lastly there is Charpaak scholarship it is around 5,000 Euros per year also there is one more Co-finance scholarship which gives 50% of your tuition fees. On an average around one person gets eiffel scholarship, lot of people get the EDHEC scholarship and Charpaak and Co finance depends
