Course Curriculum

8

  • I would say that my course is a bit technical so its not that easy. It is a mix of both practical assignments as well as the theory exams.
  • According to a business school I expected the course to be less technical and more business oriented but it is more technical and very less business oriented.

Admission Experience

  • Regarding the status of my applications, I was fortunate to receive positive responses from all three schools. I was admitted to Emlyon, EDHEC, and ESCP
  • After thorough research and consideration, I decided to apply to three business schools: Emlyon Business School, EDHEC Business School, and ESCP Business School.
  • Since I applied only to these three colleges, and I was admitted to all of them, my confirmed admission
  • As for rejections, I did not receive any, as I had applied to institutions where I believed my profile would be a strong fit. Since I did not experience a rejection, the question regarding potential shortcomings in my application does not apply to my case.
  • I applied into 3 colleges Emlyon, Edhec and ESCP I got into EMlyon and Edhec at almost the same time but my 1st preference was ESCP. I chose Edhec over Emlyon particularly based on rankings and brand name and I also got into ESCP but till then I had  already paid the first non-refundable installment so I had to go ahead with Edhec.
  • For my course the process was very simple just an admission form with all the basic requirements such as SOP, 2 LORs, All the transcripts, No IELTS and No GRE or GMAT for my course.
  • For my course no requirements as such but if you can give the exam its better, to get a scholarship.
  • The overall process was very simple, just go on the official website and you can do everything on your own.
  • I applied in September intake as in France usually colleges have only 1 take and my college also has 1 intake, in fact all the colleges in which I applied have only 1 intake that is the September intake.
  • From the date of application to receiving of the admission letter it took nearly 20-25 days and then I got around 7-10 days for the deposit of the first installment. As soon as I sent the proof of the first installment I got a confirmed admission letter.

Class Schedule

8

  • Usually we have 2 classes in a day. Each class is about 3 hours with a 1 jour lunch break so that means 7 hours. Sometimes its 9 AM to 4 PM or 10 AM to 5 PM.
  • 8-10 in a class of 67.

Faculty

8

  • The ratio is about 1 teacher to 50-60 students but it really depends from course to course. I don't think so it is any problem in anyway as the classrooms are big and well equipped and teachers are also available easily after the class hours.
  • In my course I will say 70% teachers are very good and they really teach advance concepts and some teachers are not that good. Securing a job is a different thing, we need to study some basic concepts ourselves in order to get at job.
  • For part-time I would say no but I never asked but for full time I can say they can help in some ways if we go and talk to them in person, but I haven't tried this so I can't say much about this.
  • Our program director Cedric is the teacher that I admire the most as he has good knowledge and he is also highly qualified. He also has experience working in corporate that so he knows what is actually required in terms of job. Moreover he is a calm person who is not strict at all and helping at the same time.

Campus Life

10

  • Our campus has about 5 campuses. Lille, Nice, London, Paris, Singapore
  • Our campus has a sports building with every sports, gym and a swimming pool as well. A library where we can study and has many books and medical practitioner as well.
  • Their are many clubs but are mostly French dominated and their are two clubs named Namaste Francais and Indian Student Body that are Indian clubs and they organize festivals like Diwali and Holi and also sporting event ang guidance from the seniors.
  • Extracurricular activities include inter college sport events, food events that keep happening in the college.

Part Time Jobs

  • I don't have any ideas regarding that because I haven't seen anyone opting for such roles.
  • I don't have any idea about this because our college doesn't have such opportunities.
  • Students have some options for the in campus jobs such as library assistant and also volunteer jobs in events. The wage is normally the basic wage in France that is around 12-13 euros per hour.
  • 20 hours per week is the max limit.
  • Campus jobs are very less so I would say it is quite difficult to get that.
  • Usually I haven't seen any Indian student doing part-time jobs here due to language and also due the curriculum of the college. If someone really wants to do any job then French is must or they only have 1 option that is working in an Indian restaurant. For part-time jobs generally online applying doesn't works too much. You have to go to places and ask them directly.

Placement

6

  • As you know the current market is down right now so finding is a job is very competitive right now. You have to apply to many jobs everyday to get some callbacks. Usually people get internships but it is quite hard to directly get a full time role. 80% students do get an internship.
  • Average salary is around 1200-1300 euros per month for an internship and for full time role it is 40-45,000 euros per annum.
  • Usually through recruitment events but the ratio is less, mostly get through online applying to job platforms.
  • Roles depends on your course and finding job is quite hard due to language barrier.
  • Mostly big companies like Amazon, Renault, Back Market and mainly all big French companies.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

  • For accommodation Edhec helps all the students send a pdf to students that have the details of all the accommodations with rent and photos and every detail. Edhec has its international Students Office (ISO) that is very helpful and helps in everything so finding an accommodation is very easy.
  • My monthly rent is 490 euros but in France you get a housing allowance from the government that is CAF and some part of the rent is sent back to you. A separate room with a shared kitchen and shared washroom and a washing machine.
  • For me it was very easy because of ISO. It was very simple process and I already had an accommodation booked before coming here.
  • I will recommend if someone wants ease and doesn't wants to walk too much then they should consider in campus residence, otherwise if they are okay with walking everyday to college then they can consider staying outside the campus as in that you can make international friends as well and you get much more liberty.
  • My accommodation is 1.5 KM from the campus and most of the Indian students either stay on the campus or they stay not more than 2KM radius from the college.

Exams

  • For admission to  MIM course you require GRE/GMAT/CAT but for M.Sc. there is no exam as such and IELTS is not required in France. You just have to provide a medium of instruction letter from your bachelors university.
  • 1 SOP of 3 pages, 2 LORs preferably 1 professional and 1 academic, 1 CV and Medium of instruction-English letter from your bachelors university.
  • When you fill the form with all the required documents then if it is pre-selected then you will get an email for the interview. The interview is not face-to-face, rather is a software based interview in which questions pop on the screen and you have to give the answer within the time limit and your responses are recorded along with your video.

Fees

  • The full tuition fee for the course was 26000 euros for the entire course.
  • For me it was divided into 3 installments: 6500, 9750 and 9750. I paid 6500 as the first non-refundable scholarship from India and the second 1 month after coming and the other after 4 months that was the end of 1st semester and the beginning of 2nd.
  • The rent depends on the place you live. If you live in a KOT that is personal room with an attached washroom but a shared kitchen with 6 people then it is 525 euros including electricity. If you live in a studio that has a personal kitchen it is 545 euros with approx. 40-60 euros for the electricity bill that is separate. If you live in a house with a landlord then it can be 400-450 euros per month. If you live in a shared house or student residencies then it can be 450-550 euros some have electricity included and some doesn't have. Student residencies do have breakfast included and the campus residencies as well.

Scholarship

  • I didn't receive any scholarship, but there are several options provided by campus France and Edhec also provides scholarship based on the profile of the student.
  • Unfortunately, I didn't receive any scholarship.
  • Some of my batchmates received scholarships from Edhec based on their profile. Some got 10% some got 20% and some got 25%.
  • The year I applied, many received scholarships from MIM courses based on their profile ranging from 10% to 40% and some people from my batch received the scholarship as well.
