TS PGECET Counselling 2026: Registration from July 2, Web Options and Phase Wise Seat Allotment

TS PGECET Counselling 2026 (officially TG PGECET Admissions) is conducted by the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) through its Directorate of Admissions for admission to M.E., M.Tech., M.Arch., M.Pharm., and Pharm.D (P.B.) programmes at universities and affiliated colleges in Telangana. Phase 1 counselling registration for M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch. opens on July 2, 2026, following the result declaration on June 5, 2026.

• Counselling runs in two streams — Stream 1 (M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch.) and Stream 2 (M.Pharm./Pharm.D) — each with its own Phase 1 timeline and separate registration windows.

• 85% of convener-quota seats are reserved for local (Telangana) students; 15% are open to non-local students as per the Presidential Order on local reservations.

Reservation of Quotas for TS PGECET Counselling 2026

Seat allotment in TG PGECET counselling follows the Telangana State Government’s reservation policy, applied separately within the local and non-local share of seats. 85% of convener-quota seats in each course are reserved for local students; 15% go to non-local students. Within each share, vertical (category-based) and horizontal (special category) reservations apply as shown below. Vacant reserved seats are offered to the next eligible category and, if still unfilled, reallocated to OC students.

To claim reservation under a special horizontal category (NCC, CAP, Sports, PH), your certificate must be physically verified at the Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad during the dates listed in the schedule above. Online upload alone is not sufficient for special category claims.

How to Apply for TS PGECET Counselling 2026?

The entire TG PGECET 2026 counselling process takes place online at pgecetadm.tgche.ac.in. Physical visits are required only for special category certificate verification and for reporting to the allotted college. There are five steps from registration to seat confirmation; each phase of counselling follows this same sequence.

Step 1: Online Registration

Visit the official counselling portal at pgecetadm.tgche.ac.in within the registration window. Enter your TG PGECET 2026 Hall Ticket Number, Registration Number, and Date of Birth to create a counselling login. GATE and GPAT students use their respective roll numbers and registered credentials. Complete your profile, verify your personal details, and proceed to fee payment. Do not wait until the last day — technical issues near deadlines are common.

Step 2: Fee Payment

After registration, pay the non-refundable counselling processing fee online using a Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. General, BC, and EWS students pay ₹1,200; SC and ST students pay ₹600. Save and print the fee payment receipt immediately. The fee applies separately per phase — if you participate in Phase 2, you pay again. It is not refunded even if you do not receive a seat allotment.

Step 3: Certificate Upload and Verification

Upload scanned copies of all required documents through the portal (see the Documents Required section for the full list). Students belonging to special categories — NCC, CAP, PH (Persons with Disability), or Sports — must additionally attend in-person certificate verification at the Directorate of Admissions, Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad on the dates specified in the schedule. The verified candidates list is published after this step; only students appearing on this list are permitted to exercise web options.

Step 4: Exercise Web Options (Choice Filling)

Once the verified list is published, log in and fill your web options by adding colleges and courses in your preferred order. Fill at least 15–20 choices to maximise your chances across all rounds. A dedicated editing window the following day allows you to revise your list. After the editing window closes, all choices are locked and cannot be changed. Seat allotment is computed based on your rank (TG PGECET rank or GATE/GPAT score), category, local/non-local status, and the order in which you listed your preferences.

Step 5: Seat Allotment and College Reporting

The provisional allotment result is published on pgecetadm.tgche.ac.in. If you receive a seat, download the allotment letter and report to the allotted college within the prescribed reporting window carrying original documents and the seat acceptance fee (tuition fee deposit). At the college, officials verify your originals and issue an admission confirmation slip. If you plan to participate in Phase 2 for an upgrade, inform the college at the time of reporting so that your seat acceptance is recorded with the float/upgrade option.

How to Lock Web Options — Step-by-Step Guide

Web options (choice filling) determines your final allotment. The system allocates the highest-ranked option for which a seat is available in your category. Follow these steps carefully during the choice filling window:

Step 1: Log In to the Counselling Portal

• Visit pgecetadm.tgche.ac.in during the web options window.
• Enter your registered Hall Ticket Number and password.
• Click on “Exercise Web Options” or “Choice Filling” from the dashboard.

Step 2: Browse Available Colleges and Courses

• Use the search/filter panel to browse by district, college type (government/private aided/private unaided), or specialisation.
• The system automatically shows only programmes for which you are eligible based on your qualifying exam and category.
• Check seat availability and previous closing ranks (from 2025 counselling) before finalising your list.

Step 3: Add Choices in Order of Preference

• Click “Add” against each college-course combination you want to include.
• Aim for at least 15–20 options: start with your most desired college and course at the top, and include realistic safe choices lower in the list.
• There is no penalty for adding more choices — only the topmost available option is allotted.

Step 4: Reorder and Edit Your Choices

• Use the up/down arrows or drag-and-drop to rearrange your options.
• Use the dedicated editing window (one day after the main entry period closes) to make final adjustments.
• After the editing window closes, choices are frozen permanently for that phase.

Step 5: Save and Lock Your Choices

• Click “Save” periodically while building your list to avoid losing progress.
• When fully satisfied, click “Lock Choices” (or “Submit”) and confirm the pop-up.
• Take a printout or screenshot of your locked choice list as proof.

Prepare both originals and self-attested photocopies of all documents listed below. Scanned copies are uploaded during online registration; originals are verified at the allotted college during reporting. A discrepancy in any document can result in cancellation of admission, even after seat allotment.

How Much Money is Needed for TS PGECET Counselling 2026?

Two types of fees apply during TG PGECET counselling: a non-refundable processing fee paid at the time of registration, and a refundable seat acceptance fee paid when reporting to the allotted college. Plan for both before the registration window opens.

Non-Refundable Processing Fee

This fee is paid once during online registration for each phase you participate in. It covers administrative and processing costs and is not refunded under any circumstances — even if you are not allotted a seat, even if you withdraw, and even if the counselling round you registered for is cancelled.

Refundable Seat Acceptance Fee

When you report to the allotted college, you pay a seat acceptance fee as a tuition fee deposit to secure your admission. This fee is refundable if you receive a better allotment in a subsequent phase and shift to the new college, or if no further seat is offered in later phases. If you withdraw after accepting a seat, the seat acceptance fee is not fully refunded — a processing deduction is applied before the balance is returned.

TS PGECET 2026 Phase-Wise Seat Allotment

TG PGECET 2026 admissions proceed in multiple phases to fill all available seats progressively. Each phase runs the same cycle: registration, web options, allotment, and reporting. Students who are not satisfied with their Phase 1 allotment may participate in Phase 2 to upgrade to a better college or branch, provided they chose the float/upgrade option when reporting in Phase 1 and pay the Phase 2 registration fee afresh.

GATE and GPAT qualified students who did not register in Phase 1 can still participate in Phase 2. Seat allotment priority in every phase follows the order: GATE/GPAT qualified students first (ranked by score), then TG PGECET 2026 rank holders, within each category and local/non-local share.

Reporting to College After Seat Allotment

After the provisional allotment result is published, students who receive a seat must report to the allotted college within the prescribed reporting window. Missing the deadline forfeits your seat, which is then reallocated to other students in the next phase. There are no extensions for individual reasons.

• Download the provisional allotment letter from pgecetadm.tgche.ac.in using your login credentials.
• Carry all original documents and a set of self-attested photocopies to the college — the full list is in the Documents Required section above.
• Pay the seat acceptance fee (tuition fee deposit) at the college as directed — payment mode varies by institution.
• College officials verify your original certificates and confirm eligibility. If documents are found to be mismatched or forged, admission is cancelled regardless of allotment.
• Receive and retain the admission confirmation slip issued by the college.
• If you wish to participate in Phase 2 for a possible upgrade, declare your intent at the time of reporting so the college processes you under the float/upgrade option and retains your seat acceptance fee for potential transfer.

Note: Students who shift from a Phase 1 college to a Phase 2 allotment must collect their original certificates and TC from the Phase 1 college by producing the Phase 2 allotment letter. Do not delay this collection, as the new college needs originals for admission completion.

Freeze, Float, or Withdraw — What Should You Do?

At each phase of TG PGECET counselling, after your seat is allotted and you report to the college, you must declare one of three options. This decision determines whether you can seek a better allotment in Phase 2 or exit the process entirely. Choose carefully — this choice cannot be reversed after declaration.

If you withdraw after accepting a seat, the seat acceptance fee is not fully refunded — the processing deduction can be significant. If you are unsure whether your current allotment is the best you can get, choose Float rather than Freeze or Withdraw and reassess after Phase 2 results are published.
