TS ECET 2026: Final Phase Counselling from July 4, Cutoff, Eligibility and Admission Process

TS ECET 2026 (Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test), also referred to as TG ECET 2026, is a state-level lateral entry entrance exam conducted by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) for admission into the 2nd year of B.E., B.Tech, and B.Pharmacy programmes across government and private colleges in Telangana. Phase 1 counselling is complete — Round 1 seat allotment was announced on June 24, 2026 — and the Final Phase counselling registration opens on July 4, 2026 for candidates who missed Phase 1 or want to upgrade their allotted college or branch.

• Final Phase Counselling Registration: TS ECET 2026 Final Phase counselling registration begins on July 4–5, 2026 at tgecet.nic.in. The processing fee is Rs. 1,200 for OC/BC candidates and Rs. 600 for SC/ST candidates. This is the last regular opportunity for unallotted or upgrading candidates.
• Final Phase Seat Allotment: The TS ECET 2026 Final Phase seat allotment result is expected on July 9, 2026. Candidates who receive an allotment must pay the first-year tuition fee and report to the allotted college within the deadline. In 2025, the self-reporting deadline was typically 2–3 days after the allotment result.
• Spot Admission Round: A Spot Admission round is expected in the third or fourth week of July 2026 for seats remaining vacant after all regular rounds. The exact dates will be announced by TSCHE. In 2025, the Spot round filled over 1,500 additional seats across various engineering colleges in Telangana.
• 2026 Cutoff Trends: TS ECET 2026 final cutoff ranks will be published after all counselling rounds end. Based on 2025 data, CSE closing ranks at top Hyderabad colleges ranged from rank 50 (OC/General) to rank 585 (SC). Civil and Mechanical branches had closing ranks above 2,000, making them more accessible for candidates with moderate ranks.

What is TS ECET 2026?

TS ECET stands for Telangana State Engineering Common Entrance Test. It is also referred to as TG ECET (Telangana Government Engineering Common Entrance Test) following a recent state-level branding update. The exam is conducted by TSCHE (Telangana State Council of Higher Education) and organised by JNTUH (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad) on its behalf.

TS ECET is a lateral entry examination. TS ECET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

You must meet the TS ECET 2026 eligibility criteria to appear for the exam and participate in counselling. TSCHE verifies eligibility during certificate verification at the helpline centre. Nationality and Domicile

You must be an Indian citizen. Candidates from Telangana or Andhra Pradesh are eligible. Your local area status (Telangana or AP) affects which reserved seats you can claim during counselling. Candidates with Telangana local status get priority for Telangana state quota seats.

Qualifying Examination

• Diploma in Engineering or Technology: You must hold a 3-year Diploma from a board recognised by TSBTE (Telangana State Board of Technical Education) or an equivalent state board. The diploma branch must correspond to the B.Tech branch you want to enter.
• Diploma in Pharmacy: Candidates with a Diploma in Pharmacy can apply for lateral entry into B.Pharmacy programmes.
• B.Sc. with Mathematics: You must hold a B.Sc. degree from a recognised university with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects. This allows lateral entry into B.Tech programmes.
• Final Year Candidates: You can apply even if you are in the final year of your Diploma or B.Sc. in 2026. However, you must submit your final marks and pass certificate before or at the time of certificate verification during counselling.

1. Understand the Exam Pattern First

The branch-specific Part A carries 100 marks out of 200 — exactly half the paper. This section tests your Diploma subjects and is what separates high rankers from average scorers. Know the structure before you plan your schedule so you allocate time correctly across the four parts.

2. Give Maximum Time to Your Branch Subjects

Your diploma branch paper (Part A) is the most important section. For CSE, focus on Data Structures, C Programming, DBMS, and Computer Networks.
