The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the notice on 22nd January, 2026, notifying the tentative schedule for NEET-MDS 2026 examination.
- The examination is scheduled on 02-May-2026 (Sunday).
- The Registration process is expected to start from February to early March and will continue for approximately a month.
- The Cut-off Date for the completion of the internship is 31 May 2026, as announced by the NBEMS.
- Around 30,000 candidates are expected to appear in the exam for admission in MDS courses.

The NEET MDS 2025 was conducted on 19th April 2025, in which 30,435 candidates applied, out of which 29,220 appeared, and 16,225 qualified the exam.

How to Apply
If you wish to apply for the NEET MDS 2026 Exam, and you qualify the eligibility criteria, you can apply for the exam through the official portal of NBEMS.
There are certain steps you have to follow to fill the application form:
Step 1: User Registration
Every new user will need to create a user profile to generate the User ID and Password to apply for the NEET MDS 2026 exam.
- Visit the official NBEMS portal and click ‘New User? Register’.
- Enter your Email ID and mobile number.
- Enter other required fields like name (same as in Primary Dental Qualification Certificate), gender, date of birth, etc.
- You will get an OTP at your mail and mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and submit.
- Your UserID will be generated, and you will receive your UserID and Password on your Mail.
Step 2: Applicant Login
- Use your User ID and Password to Login to your profile
- Click the ‘Go to Application’ button
- You will access your application form to fill in the details.
Step 3: Filling in the Details
- You have to fill in the details asked in the application form.
- Make sure to fill in your name as mentioned in your Primary Dental Qualification Certificate.
- Select your Gender
- Enter your Date of Birth
- Enter your Nationality
- Verify your email id and mobile number (one email can be used for one registration only).
Step 4: Uploading of Photograph, Signature and Thumb Impression
- Every candidate is required to upload a scanned photograph, signature and thumb impression.
- The photograph uploaded should be recent (not more than 3 months old).
- You will also need to upload a real-time photograph using the webcam/built-in camera on your device.
- The photos uploaded should be preferably be in a white background.
- Follow the guidelines for the same available on the NBEMS Website https://natboard.edu.in, and will also be available in the information brochure of NEET MDS 2026.
- According to the NEET MDS 2025 guidelines, the size of the images should be:
- Photograph- 3.5 X 4.5 cm and less than 80 kb. Your face should cover 70-80 % of the image.
- Signature- 1.5 X 3.5 cm and should be between 20-100 kb
- Left Thumb Impression- 3.5 X 1.5 cm and less than 80 kb.

Step 5: Filling of Exam Centre Choice
- You can select the exan city of your choice from the available options.
- The information about the available test centres will be published in the official information brochure of NEET MDS 2026.
- The centres can be chosen on first-come-first-serve basis. It is advised not to wait for the last date of registration, as your desired centre may not be available.

Step 6: Exam Fee Payment
- The candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee via online mode.
- You can use UPI, net banking, debit card or credit card for the payment of the exam fee.
- The registration fee will be approximately 3500-4000. The exact amount will be provided in the information brochure.
Step 7: Preview and Final Submission
- After the fee payment, you can preview the application form.
- If there is any mistake or you need to edit any details, click the ‘edit’ button.
- After confirming every detail, tick the declaration check box and you can ‘Final Submit’ your application form.
- After the final submission of the application form, you will receive an acknowledgement by mail about the completion of the submission of the application form.
Correction In The Application Form
- The correction window will only open for candidates whose application form is successfully submitted, and the application fee is paid.
- No new registrations will be allowed during the correction period.
- The correction window will open after 3-4 days of the closing date of the application form, and will be available for 3-4 days.
- You can make corrections in your application form in all fields except:
- Your Name
- Email ID
- Mobile number
- Nationality
- Test Centre
Correction in Photograph, Signature and Thumb Impression
- After the closure of the correction window, the NBEMS will inform you about any updation (if required) in your photograph, signature or thumb impression.
- You will be able to correct the deficiency in your photo, sign and thumb impression during the final edit window, which is expected to open approximately 15 days after the closing of the application form and will be open for about 5-6 days.
- If you fail to upload the images according to the guidelines, your application may be rejected.
FAQs
Ques. I belong to the EWS category. Is there any fee concession for me?
Ans. No, there is no concession in the application fee for the EWS category. The fee concession is only for SC/ST and PwD candidates.
Ques. Can I apply for the NEET MDS 2026 if my BDS Degree is not yet issued?
Ans. Yes, you can apply for the NEET MDS 2026 exam even if your BDS degree is not issued, only if you have the provisional degree certificate.
Ques. What to do if I forgot the login Password?
Ans. If you have lost your login password, you can retrieve it by clicking on the ‘forgot password’ button on the login page. You will need your email ID to recover the lost password.
Ques. Can I make corrections to my application form after final submit during the application window?
Ans. No, after the final submit of the application, you can only make changes during the correction window after closing of the application window. Enter your name, email, mobile number, nationality and choice of test centre carefully as you cannot change these details.
