Candidates who pass ISC improvement i.e. whose overall result changes from PCNA (Pass Certificate Not Awarded) to PCA (Pass Certificate Awarded) have to return their original marksheet to their schools. What after ISC 12 Compartmental Results?
After receiving your ISC 12th Compartmental results, there are two scenarios that might happen.
- Scenario 1: If you pass, you will need to return your previous marksheet to your school and the CISCE will issue a revised marksheet showing improved results. They will also grant you a pass certificate.
- Senario 2: If you fail, you will not receive a pass certificate and you will need to re-take the compartment exam depending on the rules set by the council.
Is there a compartment in ISC Class 12?
No, as of 2024, there is no compartment exam for ISC Class 12. You can now only take improvement exams in a maximum of two subjects if you want to improve their marks in the same year. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has discontinued compartment exams and replaced them with a re-evaluation option for answer scripts.
What is the passing marks for ISC 2025?
The passing marks for ISC 2025 is 40% in each subject. This mens that you need to score at least 40% marks in every subject to pass the exam.

ISC Class 12 Result Re-Checking 2025
The rechecking of the subject will be done online on request only by the School Head. After the declaration of the result, the rechecking request can be submitted within 4 days. You need to pay a fee of Rs.1000 per subject. In the rechecking, your paper will be evaluated based on:
- If all answers are marked
- Continuation sheets are attached to the answer script
- If there is a mistake in totaling marks in each subject and transferring marks correctly on the first page
ISC Class 12 Result Re-evaluation 2025
After rechecking comes re-evaluation. The students who are not satisfied with the rechecking result will be able to apply for re-evaluation of the answer scripts. This can be made only within 24 hours after the release of notification.
- For re-evaluation, students will have to pay a fee of Rs. 1500 per subject.
- The result of the re-evaluation will be announced within three weeks.

- After the completion of this process, the marks obtained by students will be considered final.
