IIFT 2024 exam analysis helps in understanding the overall difficulty of question papers along with weightage of each sections. From the academic year 2024-2025, scores of CAT 2023 will be taken into consideration for 2 years MBA curriculums. Last year, about 30,622 students appeared for IIFT 2024 exam. As per previous year’s analysis, CAT exam’s difficulty level was moderate to tough. Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension sections from IIFT 2024 syllabus were mostly difficult. Overall good attempts at previous year’s exam was approximately 64-70.

IIFT 2024 syllabus is similar to that of CAT and has been segregated into four sections. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension has the highest weightage with 35 questions out of total 110. On the other hand, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning has 30 questions, whereas Quantitative Ability and General Awareness consists of 25 and 20 questions respectively. Mastering the Verbal Ability for CAT Common Admission Test, Target IIFT are some best IIFT books covering the full syllabus and also recommended for preparation.

Both IIFT and CAT exam pattern is online and computer-based with 2 hours of allotted time duration. IIFT had 110 questions with 300 total marks, on the other hand, CAT exam has 66 questions with 198 total marks. For every correct answers in +3 is awarded. A negative marking of -1 in every MCQs will be made on the basis of each incorrect attempts, however, there is no deduction for wrong answers in TITA  questions. Solving previous years’ question papers can be effective in learming overall difficulty level of the examination.

Ques. Will the difficulty level of question paper affect IIFT 2024 cut off?

Ans. Yes, IIFT 2024 cut off marks will certainly depend on the difficulty level of question paper. IIFT 2024 cut off will be less in case the question paper is difficult and vice versa. IIFT 2024 cut off also depends on other aspects, such as number of appeared and qualified students, and number of seats available. As per previous year’s analysis, overall difficulty level of IIFT exam was moderate to difficult.

Ques. Will there be sectional-time limit like CAT?

Ans. IIFT 2024 exam’s allotted time duration is 2 hours. There is no sectional time limit like that of CAT exam. Solving previous year question papers, and mock test series can assist you in grassping overall difficulty level of exam. Side by side, you can also develop time management skills to answer all questions with speed and accuracy.

Ques. How many months are required to prepare for the IIFT 2024 exam?

Ans. About six to nine months with strategic preparation is enough to ace IIFT 2024 exam. It is advisable to understand IIFT 2024 syllabus during first month and last 2-3 months in solving question papers for taking preparation.

  • IIFT 2022 exam was conducted in a single slot from 10 am to 12 noon. No changes were observed in IIFT exam pattern from the previous year. The paper had 110 objective-type questions divided into 4 sections- VARC, DILR, QA, and GA.
  • VARC had 4 RC passages comprising 16 questions in total. The passages were lengthy but doable. The remaining 19 questions were from Verbal ability topics including error detection, vocabulary-based questions, and para jumbles. 
  • QA was easier than the previous year. The questions from Arithmetic dominated this section and were direct formula and concept-based not needing much application of logic.
  • DILR had 2-3 time-consuming sets. Overall, the calculations in all the sets were easy and did not require any short tricks or formulas to solve.
