The Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT) 2026 is a university-level entrance exam conducted by Aliah University, Kolkata for admission to UG, PG, B.Ed., and B.Sc. Nursing programmes across its Taltala, Newtown, and Park Circus campuses. The UG exam was held in May 2026, and the B.Ed. exam was conducted on June 6, 2026. The PG and B.Sc. Nursing exams are scheduled for late June 2026, with the result and counselling expected in August–September 2026.

• PG Exam: AUAT 2026 PG exam is expected in late June 2026 — last year (2025), it was held on June 28–29. The 2026 exam is expected around the same window at the Kolkata centre only.
• Result: AUAT 2026 result is expected in August 2026. In 2025, the B.Tech merit list was declared on July 4, 2025, while PG and Nursing results followed in August.
• Counselling: AUAT 2026 counselling is expected in August–September 2026. In 2025, B.Tech counselling was held on July 19–20 and all seats were filled on Day 1 at a closing rank of 597.
• Rank Card: After result declaration, candidates can download their AUAT 2026 Rank Card by logging in to the official admission portal at aums.aliah.ac.in using their application number and password.

What is AUAT 2026?

AUAT stands for Aliah University Admission Test. It is a university-level common entrance exam conducted every year by Aliah University, Kolkata. Aliah University is a state government-aided minority institution established under the Aliah University Act, 2007. AUAT is the single-window entrance test for almost all full-time programmes the university offers — from engineering and computer applications to sciences, humanities, nursing, law, management, and teacher education.

The test is held in offline (pen-and-paper / OMR-based) mode and is bilingual, with questions in both Bengali and English. Aliah University has three campuses in Kolkata: Taltala, Newtown, and Park Circus. For UG programmes (except B.Sc. Nursing), exam centres are spread across multiple cities and towns in West Bengal. For PG, B.Ed., and B.Sc. Nursing, the exam is held only at the Kolkata centre.

The AUAT is distinct from most other entrance exams because its common section (Part II) includes Islamic History & Culture as its largest component — around 20 out of 30 marks — alongside General English and General Knowledge. This applies to every candidate, regardless of the programme they apply for.

AUAT 2026 has a staggered schedule across different programme groups. The UG exam was held in May 2026 and the B.Ed. exam on June 6. The PG and B.Sc. Nursing exams are expected in late June 2026. AUAT 2026 Application Process and Fees

The AUAT 2026 registration was conducted entirely in online mode through the official admission portal at aums.aliah.ac.in. The window opened on April 17, 2026 and closed on May 25, 2026 after a one-time deadline extension from the original May 12 date. The application window is now closed for the 2026 cycle.

Steps to Fill the AUAT 2026 Application Form

1. Visit the official admission portal at aums.aliah.ac.in and register as a new candidate with your email ID and mobile number
2. Fill in your personal details, academic qualifications, and select the programme codes you want to apply for (male: up to 4 codes; female: up to 5 codes including Nursing)
3. Choose two exam centre preferences if you are applying for UG programmes — PG, B.Ed., and B.Sc. Nursing centres are fixed to Kolkata only
4. Upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and relevant mark sheets in the required format and file size
5. Pay the application fee online using net banking, debit card, credit card, or UPI
6. Submit the form, download the confirmation page, and save your application number — you will need it for admit card download, result checking, and counselling

AUAT 2026 Application Fee

The application fee is paid per programme code and is non-refundable once submitted. A male candidate applying for 4 programmes pays ₹400 × 4 = ₹1,600 in total. A female candidate applying for 5 programmes pays ₹300 × 5 = ₹1,500. You should choose programmes carefully since additional selections cannot be made after form submission.

Do not create a duplicate account if you applied in a previous AUAT cycle. Use your existing login credentials and the "Forgot Password" option if you cannot access your account.

AUAT 2026 Admit Card

Aliah University released the AUAT 2026 admit card separately for each programme group. The admit card for PG, B.Ed., and B.Sc. Nursing programmes was released in early June 2026 — roughly 7 to 10 days before those exams. For UG programmes, the admit card was officially notified as available from June 16, 2026 on the official portal.

How to Download the AUAT 2026 Admit Card

1. Visit the official admission portal at aums.aliah.ac.in
2. Click on the "AUAT 2026 Admit Card" link on the login page
3. Log in with your application number and password
4. Download the admit card PDF and take a colour printout on A4 paper
5. Carry the printout along with one original photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, or Passport) to the exam centre

A digital copy on your phone or a black-and-white printout will not be accepted at the exam gate. You must carry a colour printout of the admit card.

For UG programmes (except MJMC and language-based BA/MA), the Part I syllabus follows the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) Class XI–XII curriculum. You should download the programme-specific syllabus PDF from aliah.ac.in and also solve previous year question papers available on the same portal.

Islamic History and Culture in Part II is mandatory for every candidate appearing in AUAT 2026, regardless of their stream. Even science, engineering, and law aspirants must prepare this section as it carries around 20 marks out of 100.

AUAT 2026 Exam Centres and Exam Day Guidelines

The AUAT 2026 exam centre is allotted by Aliah University based on the city preferences given at the application stage. The centre is printed on the admit card and cannot be changed once the card is released.

Exam Centres by Programme Group

Typical UG exam centre districts include Kolkata, Howrah, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Murshidabad, Malda, and Burdwan. PG, B.Ed., and B.Sc. Nursing candidates must travel to Kolkata — plan accommodation in advance if you are coming from outside the city.

What to Carry on AUAT 2026 Exam Day

• Colour printout of the AUAT 2026 admit card on A4 paper
• One original government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving Licence)
• Two passport-size photographs identical to the one on the admit card
• Black ballpoint pen only — pencils, gel pens, and ink pens are not allowed
• Analog watch (digital watches and smartwatches are not allowed)
• PwBD / Divyang certificate, if you are a candidate with disability

Items NOT Allowed in the Exam Hall

• Mobile phones, smartwatches, earphones, or any Bluetooth or electronic device
• Calculator, log table, or any printed study material
• Bags, wallets, or purses inside the hall (deposited at the gate)
• Caps, scarves, stoles, or metallic accessories

Entry to the exam hall closes 15 minutes before the start time. No candidate is allowed entry after the gate closes. Reach the centre at least 60 minutes before your scheduled reporting time.

AUAT 2026 Answer Key

The AUAT 2026 answer key is expected to be released by Aliah University in July 2026, after all programme papers are completed. In previous years, the answer key was published on aliah.ac.in around 3 to 4 weeks after the last paper. The key is released programme-wise and includes all question numbers with correct answer options.

How to Check the AUAT 2026 Answer Key

1. Visit aliah.ac.in and navigate to the AUAT 2026 section
2. Click on the "AUAT 2026 Answer Key" link
3. Choose your programme and paper code
4. The PDF will open showing the correct answers for each question number
5. Match your attempted answers against the key to estimate your probable score before the official result

If you believe an answer in the key is incorrect, you can raise an objection through the official portal during the objection window (usually 2–5 days after key release). Each objection may require a small processing fee, which is refunded if your objection is upheld. The final answer key, after all valid objections are reviewed, is then used to prepare the merit list.

Part I Strategy — Your Main Scoring Area (70 Marks)

• B.Tech / BCA aspirants: Focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from the WBCHSE Class XI–XII textbooks. NCERT books can supplement, but WBCHSE texts are the primary reference for AUAT
• B.Sc. and BA aspirants: Revise your stream subject from the WBCHSE Class XI–XII syllabus. Language-based BA papers also include 16 marks of descriptive questions, so practice written answers
• PG aspirants: Your graduation-level subject knowledge is the focus. Revise core topics from your final-year curriculum — especially analytical and applied-level questions
• Solve previous year AUAT question papers (available at aliah.ac.in) — they give the most accurate picture of question style and difficulty

Part II Strategy — Common Section (30 Marks)

• Islamic History & Culture (~20 marks): This is the most important section in Part II. Study the history of Islam, Quranic philosophy, key Islamic scholars, and Islamic contributions to world civilization. Even candidates with no prior background in Islamic studies must prepare this section
• General English (~5 marks): Focus on grammar rules, vocabulary, and short reading comprehension passages at the Class XII level. Wren & Martin is a reliable reference
• General Knowledge (~5 marks): Read a national newspaper daily. Cover current affairs in Indian politics, economics, and sports

General Strategy

• Practice at least 3 to 5 full-length mock tests in the 2 to 3 weeks before your exam — time yourself to 120 minutes strictly
• With −0.25 negative marking, avoid random guessing. If you are not sure, skip the question — an unattempted question gives 0, while a wrong answer costs 0.25
• The paper is bilingual. Choose whichever language (Bengali or English) you are more comfortable with — you can mix languages across questions if needed
• Attempt Part I first to secure subject marks, then move to Part II in the remaining time
