Faculty

Some of the faculty are very educated and are friendly. Few of them don't care about teaching. They just read the ppts and call it a day. The assignments they give are very hectic. More than the exams. My batch had 2 exams per sem. One is internals for 50 other one for 100.. Exams are not hard. Assignments, quizes are taken into consoderation for the final grade. If you get above 92 you get a 'O' grade which is the highest.

Campus Life

There are not many fests happening in this campus. There is no proper space for it to happen too. There are many clubs like robotics, photography etc. They are run by students. According to my knowledge there is no proper sports team except soccer. Every classroom has a monitor and a projector. There are many academic/Educational books in the library. But you cant find any entertainment books.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is actually pretty decent and most of the faculty are friendly to the students. Make sure during ffcs you do not take the blacklisted faculty which is created by the students based on their experience Akaitab Mukherjee for english is by far the best teacher ive ever got in vit please make sure u take him. Not like i hate any teacher but some hold grudges the exams are fairly easy and the grade system is based on relative grading so its easier to get good grades if ur more than class average

Campus Life

The annual festivals held are technovit which is a 3 - 4 day event where a whole lot of technical events like hackathon, robo show off events happen which is really interesting. almost all the books which are needed are present in library there are projectors in classroom and the lab has good internet and good computer hardware and a lot of new technologies like smart board in library. there are a lot of clubs for sport in vit chennai and various sports facilities and almost 100 clubs for students to gain exposure

Placement Experience

My branch is new there is not any batch placed from my course but overall placement is very good nearly 80 percent students are placed from 7rd semester students are eligible for placement. Company like google, Amazon, Flipkart, TCS, Amantya Technologies, Yamaha Motor Solutions, SquadStack, Josh Technology, TCS, and Trilogy Innovations are coming for visit and give offer of 15-50 lakh rupees. Highest package is offered by Google company last year to a enc student of 60 lakh. Nearly 80 percent students are placed I also take placement after degree

Faculty

There is 1 facility over 15 students. The relationship between faculty and students is too good . They are always stand for helping students. Lalit Kumar sir is my favourite faculty bcz he always help me solving numerical problems. Mechanical engineering faculties are the best. I didn't like the maths teacher Anita bcz she only complete the syllabus not thinking that no body can understand it There are 2 sessional exam and one semester exam in one semester they are moderated 2-3 students are failed every semester from 35

Fees and Financial Aid

For Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai, the fee structure varies based on the admission category (general, management quota) and the branch of study 1.Tuition fees - 1st year ( Rs 1,98,000) includes admission fee, 2nd year Rs 1,98,000, 3rd year Rs 1,98,000, 4thyear Rs 1,98,000. 2. Additional fees - admission fees Rs 10,000, Caution deposit Rs 3000, Lab fees Rs 20,000 per year (depending on the branch varies slightly), Exam fees Rs 2500 ( paid separately for each semester exam). 3. Hostel fees - accommodation fees Rs 50,000 - Rs 1,20,000 per year (depending on the room type AC, non -AC or shared rooms), Mess fees Rs 55,000 - Rs65,000 ( based on food preferences like veg or non-veg). 4. There is no special fee for SC/ST categories at VIT. 5. Students entering through management quota will have to pay higher fees typically around Rs 4,00,000- Rs 5,00,000 per year depending on the branch and specialization. 6. VIT offers several scholarships such as GVSDP ( GV school development programme ) where for toppers state board eill have 100% tution fee waiver for all four years , for vitee rank holders 1 to 50 75% tution fee waiver ,51 to 100 rank holders 50% tution fee waiver , 101 to 1000 rank holders 25% tution fee waiver 7. Merit cum scholarship is based on academic performance and financial background

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is 1:20 , we can approach them and they will clear all our doubts and also encourage us and help in major projects , in vit we have some best faculties too , there are total 4 exams cat1 & cat2 internal exams for 30 marks , fatlab for 50 marks lab final exam and Fat exam which is nothing but final semester exam which is for 100 marks , cat1 , cat2 will be easy where we have to score full marks where fat exam will be tougher where we can loose our marks so if we score good in cat1 and cat2 you can cover the marks which you lost in fat exam which will cover up your overall total

Faculty

Faculty to student ratio is good but some teachers are very helpful and guiding some are just government employees so there is problem. Teachers aare well qualified and knowledgeable but you have to make most out of them and interact with them and create healthy relationship with them as they can make you stuck in certain subject so ots better not to be in any argument with teachers. Each semester hai 2 sessional of 15 narks and 1 end semester exams(75 marks)which is good curriculum as its good way to complete the syllabus side by side due to these exams and yes exams are not so difficult you can easily ace them with proper strategy but most of the students start 1 week before the exams . But you need to give time for studies as Re are very common in btech and yes for placements its safe to maintain 7.5-8 CGPA as many companies allow students to sit at certain cgpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

For general category the fees is about Rs 1,00,000 per year which includes tution fees, maintainace fee, exam fee etc and is to be paid ininstallments semester wise (60,000&40000) respectively. Their are many scholarship scemes in college for economically weak, girls etc in which you may apply but some are on merit bases and you have to maintain some percentage of attendance and score to be in scholarship. As i teacher said in this college money is not a problem for anyone there are many ways to get fee waiver but condition is the student must study . Since only girls hostel is available so the fees is available for that only which is about 10000 per month and for boys tgey can find PG's and flaats in near by sectors (7,10,11) easily which is about 10000 per month including various facilities

I Choose Computer Science as since my childhood I keen to interested in technology, we know today technology world is all carried by CS Engineers so I also wanted to gains knowledge about how these all tech works. It's prepare according to the skills required by the industry, maximun questions asked in paper for VIT university focused on applications not theory(reference to paper of 3rd semester). Although in first sem weightage of theoretical questions is more. Student are awarded extra marks if parcipated in various national level hackathon or doing a research or simply participation in various only coding contest like Code Chef/Leetcodes. Professor sometimes makes lectures boring by not giving applications of topics in class itself they prefer to say it in the lab classes. Frequency of exams depend on many factors like the duration of the semester. But on an average for every 5 weeks you will have all theory courses exam. And just before your final assessment you will have lab exams

Placement Experience

After 6 semester or at the beginning of 7th semester students usually applied and sit for campus placements. Although many top class already secured a job or internship before that. There are many top MNCs visiting VIT nowadays. Moreover in 2024 itself there are almost 820 companies visited our campus. So for the list of companies you can refer to VIT official website. Number of offered made:8195 Marquee offer:560(above 20 lakhs) Super Dream offer:3323(above 10 lakhs) Dream offer:3128(above 6 lakhs) Regular offer: 1734(mass recruiters) Average CTC of 2024 batch : 11 LPA Highest CTC of 2024 batch : 88 LPA Almost 70% students got placed and remaining people includes those going for starups, higher degree, those who didn't accept the jobs etc After getting degree I will wanted to be a knowledgeable person in Computer fields. Money doesn't strive it is the passion for knowledge which is on top priority, and if I will gained enough knowledge at the time of receiving degree it is enough.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is very good . The faculty's are very friendly and they clarify our doubts and my learning experience is good with the faculty. The faculty's credentials and their approach to teaching is excellent and their mentornship in giving us project ideas and guiding us how to do projects and helping us in the projects is very good . We can interact with teachers when ever we want in college hours they are approachable and friendly they clarify all our doubts and explain it clearly.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course i choose is robotics and artificial intelligence it was a new branch when i joined and i wanted to learn something new from other branches. The curriculum prepares us very well for real world applications they train us with various robotics projects which helps us in future academics. The areas for improvements is that they should have kept more ai related subjects too as it is new branch they should keep more faculties with experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for my particular course is constant as year1.The total fees is rs 10,00,000.This is including tuition fees, hostel, mess. The hostel and mess fees for nri category is high as compared to normal category even though the facilities are the same. This is a disadvantage to be noted. No campus employment opportunities available.

Faculty

The good part of the fully flexible credit system is that the faculty you get is selected by you. So , your learning experience is in your hands, you are the one creating and building your college life here. In one class the ratio is usually 1:60 , which fluctuates depending on the demand of your chosen faculty. Interacting with them depends on their personality , if they are calm and approachable it will be easy for you to clear your doubts and queries , else its gonna be really hard. Some teachers use power point presentation's to teach and some dont.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees you are going to pay for all for years of engineering is the fee u pay ur first year, this applies for only tuition fee, hostel fee tends to change, even mess fees tend to change. Fees in vit chennai is different for everyone that is , there is category 1,2,3,4,5 and getting into a category depends on your VITEEE examination rank and the availabilty of seats in your course. Category 1 has the least fee around 2 lakhs and Cat 5 has the highest of 4.9 lakhs. Scholarship is given to students who score top ranks in the VITEEE examinations.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is so flexible, that FFCS (Fully flexible credit system) makes it easy to choose class timings based on our interests. The curriculum prepares you for real-world applications. There are no improvements needed in the course curriculum and teaching methods. Exams will be conducted three times per semester, the difficulty level will be moderate.

Campus Life

The two main fests conducted on campus are TechnoVit and Vibrance. Vibrance will generally take place in March. The library has all the books needed for the curriculum. All classes are equipped with projectors. Students run many clubs and they are registered for FFCS in the college website and participation in clubs will be giving credits for the semester.

Campus Life

There are multiple clubs and chapters in VIT, with their numbers still increasing. The flagship events in VIT Chennai are Vibrance, the cultural fest, and TechnoVIT, the Technical fest. The library is well equipped although the library staff is occasionally uncooperative, but the automatic issuing system in the library negates this. Each class is provided with projectors and books are discouraged, instead promoting the use of tablets and laptops. There is sports grounds of all sorts, including A football field, two basketball fields, a common ground, a cricket ground, gyms, climbing studios, and numerous indoor games. VIT also encourages student-run groups and clubs, the most prominent being VITrends, the unofficial newsletter/hub of VIT.

Placement Experience

Students can sign up for placements from the 7th semester. The highest package as of the previous session was 1.15 crores with an average package of 6 lakhs. VIT boasts a 100 percent placement record but the students who can attend campus placements are 7.5 cgpa plus students, which significantly cuts down the actual placement percentages. My plans in VIT are to get placed in a company offering a position of 10 lakhs plus LPA.
