What is BTech Polymer Technology all about?

B Tech Polymer Technology is a branch under B tech that is associated with the theory of chemical engineering and relates to the production and use of Polymers. It uses the principles of Plant Design, Process Design, Thermodynamics and Transport phenomena to develop new and better products. If you take this course you will be learning how a Polymer Engineer can look and lead the production process of plastics as well as other polymers.

B.Tech. (Polymer Technology) is known to be an engineering course that designs, analyses, and/or modifies polymer materials. The first-year course is common to all engineering disciplines. The second year comprises the study of some specific subjects related to the field of polymer engineering. The third year is focused on a more specialized study of the subject. In the fourth year, the candidate takes up project work and industrial training.

Why Study BTech Polymer Technology?

The reasons for studying BTech Polymer Technology are mentioned below:

  • Various Career Options: There is a wide array of opportunities that open up for you, you can sit back and choose from the various career paths that open up for you after you choose this course.
  • Diverse Job Opportunity: Once you have completed the course you get multiple job opportunities from the best of the companies in the industry, it gets easy for you to work straight after college if you want to grind in the Job world before you decide to do anything else in your life.

BTech Polymer Technology Admission Process?

One must follow the process given below to get admitted into a college

  • Step 1: Fill out the Application form
  • Step 2: Give the Entrance Exams
  • Step 3: Once you have cleared the Entrance Exam you will get a long list of colleges you are eligible for so select the college appropriate to your Entrance Exam score.
  • Step 4: Once you have selected the college, they will call you for the Counselling sessions.
  • Step 5: Admission

There are multiple engineering entrance exams in India at the national and state level. It is up to the students to choose the national or state-level engineering test depending on their requirements. Students are often confused about the terms B. E (Bachelor of Engineering) and B. Tech (Bachelor of Technology).

B. Tech Admission process for the academic session will happen in the month of March or April. Almost, all the states initiate the entrance exam process for UG B. Tech admission in March/ April. B. Tech admission process in IITs, NITs, and IIITs is different from the UG engineering admission process in private engineering colleges. Similarly, the B. Tech admissions in one state vary from another.

Students having scored at least 50% in aggregate in the XII standard with science subjects and having subsequently pursued a 1-year diploma course are considered eligible for lateral entry to this course. Some colleges like BIT (Ranchi), Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (Chennai), and Delhi Technological University make this provision.

BTech Polymer Technology Eligibility

  • To pursue a B.Tech course, one must pass Class 12 in the Science stream. The students must have Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as the subjects in Class 12. Students who have studied only these subjects in Class 12 are treated as eligible for B.Tech admission.
  • In addition, students must score at least 50% of their marks in Class 12 to be eligible for B.Tech admission in engineering colleges across the country. However, students belonging to reserved categories such as SC/ ST will have a relaxation of up to 5% in the minimum qualifying marks.
  • For some of the engineering streams like Biomedical Engineering, students must have studied Biology as one of the subjects in Class 12.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its little quite expensive. but tution fee is normal but college bus fees are little high and expensive. But they provy some study materials and lab coat and wearings so they inform us to pay quite amount. Exam fee and arrear fees are normal. But revaluation fees are abnormal.

Course Curriculum Overview

Its very helpful to me. I like this course. it helps to works in plastic field and rubber field. But I choose rubber field past two months I done a industrial project in CEAT TyearES LIMITED bhandup at Mumbai. So I am expecting ti become a production manager in rubber field.

Course Curriculum Overview

In the 1st year of Engineering, everyone would have common subjects which are the blend of all branches.Polymer Science and Technology is an amazing subject which provides knowledge on Chemical, Mechanical and Technology.Every day you learn something amazing and the experiments you do in labs are very interesting.I had Fluid mechanics, Thermodynamics, Polymer chemistry, CAD, Polymer kinetics, Organic chemistry, Polymer physics, Rubber technology, Tyre technology, Product Design, Industrial management etc. Wow, they covered almost everything in just 3 years of time!

Admission

In my time, we had to counsel in Bangalore and choose college and course as per the ranking we get in CET examination. In that process, I chose SJCE college and Polymer Science and Technology as my course because I knew I will succeed in my life if I have studied in SJCE.Finally, I received the confirmation for admission. As it was Government aided college I had to pay less fee yearly compared to other colleges.I had to show the confirmation letter and fees paid in the college administration department and rest of the process will be guided by them.
