Ques. Have any BBA or BMS grads made it to IIM Ahmedabad?

● Top Answer By Aarti Ahuja on 05 Dec 23

Ans. I’ve had the opportunity to visit IIM Kozhikode, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad for various competitions. While at these institutes, I interacted with many students. Some of them were from Economics background, and one had even completed her graduation in Philosophy.  Students from all these backgrounds, including BBS/BMS enjoy the diversity factor. This gives them an upper hand in the selection process over Engineers. But to enjoy this benefit, one must have a good CAT score, and a good academic record. Prepare well for your CAT, and make sure you have a good academic record. If you fulfill these criteria, you’ll get into IIM Ahmedabad, regardless of your educational background.  Also, make sure to prepare well for the quant section of CAT. This is where the engineering students outdo the candidates from other academic backgrounds. Read more

Ques. What should I choose between an IPM course at IIM Indore or a BMS course at Xavier College Mumbai?

● Top Answer By Advait Joshi on 04 Jun 23

Ans. The five-year IIM Indore IPM degree combines undergraduate and postgraduate management courses. Students who want to start their management career after 12th grade should take this course. The programme comprises economics, accounting, marketing, and human resource management classes and internships with prominent organisations. This management programme is well-regarded and offers great job chances. BMS at Xavier College Mumbai is a three-year undergraduate programme that covers all elements of management. This programme teaches management skills. The programme offers internships, economics, statistics, marketing, and finance classes. Both degrees are well-regarded and provide great managerial careers. IIM Indore's IPM programme may be a fantastic choice for 12th-graders who want to start their management careers. The BMS programme at Xavier College Mumbai may be preferable for you if you desire a more conventional undergraduate education and then management.Read more

Ques. Is it better to go for DU BMS instead of IPM of IIM Indore

● Top Answer By Akriti Banerjee on 03 Jun 23

Ans. Since you’ve not given any context to the question, the answer in any normal circumstance would be yes. Let’s understand why spending more than 5 lacs on an IPM degree is not worth your time and effort.  Fee: BMS DU charges around 50,000 for the entire course where IPM fee is unnecessarily high just because of the IIM tag. I am not saying that there will not be any difference between the curriculum but the difference is not worth the money you’re paying.  Syllabus: Although IIMs are known for their pedagogy and surely you’ll get professors who will change the way you see a subject. This kind of exposure at such an early stage of your life will widen the possibilities but if we talk about the syllabus of a BBA degree and that of a BMS degree, the difference is pretty evident.  BMS is a slightly analytical degree that would give you an edge over students pursuing BBA or BCOM. I have seen BMS students acing CAT after basic preparation cause of their good grasp on logical reasoning. It’s a given fact that an average BMS students is more likely to score well in CAT than an average BBA/BCOM student. Read more

Ques. What are the salary packages after a BMS from DU?

● Top Answer By Pooja Rampal on 06 Oct 22

Ans. The colleges that will offer Bachelors with honors courses in management studies have finally been identified by Delhi University. The course is offered by six colleges in total: Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, College of Vocational Studies, Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Maharaja Agrasen College, Bhim Rao Ambedkar College, and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College. The new course was implemented following the discontinuation of the BBE, BBS, and BFIF courses. These courses were extremely popular, and nearly all of the students were placed. There were 891 seats available across all three courses. The introduction of the BMS course has reduced the number by 51, which has enraged many applicants.  Keshav Mahavidyalaya is an off-campus college that is one of Delhi University's youngest and fastest growing, it has also provided exceptional placements for BMS. Top companies such as AT Kearney, S&P CapIQ, CEB, SmartCube, McKinsey Knowledge Center, Google, Grail Research , and others have recruited students from the college in recent years. The Department of Management Studies has a strong alumni network that provides students with numerous opportunities. Thus, well-deserving BMS students from KMV can easily get campus placement, and the average package is around 4.5-5 Lakhs, with the highest offered in the previous year being 9.5 Lakhs.Read more

Ques. What is the admission process for Bachelor of Management Studies [BMS] St Xavier's Mumbai?

● Top Answer By Anonymous on 11 Mar 25

Ans. I applied to IIM Indore, St. Xavier's mumbai, TAPMI Manipal and I had given CET exam to apply for colleges in Mumbai. I did not clear the IPMAT exam as I prepared only for 2 months, so I didn't make it to iim indore. St. Xavier's being one of the top colleges in India was my next choice. I also got into TAPMI Manipal but I chose Xavier's over it as the ROI was better. For admission in Xavier's you've to clear the Xavier's Entrance Test (XET) for BMS, BMM and BSC-IT. Post which you'll get a call if your name is in the merit list. Rest of the process is done in the college itself, where you'll be asked to submit your documents and fill out some forms. It is a quite easy and smooth process.Read more
