Course Structure

The course curriculum is divided in 8 semesters and consists of theoretical, conceptual and practical papers to impart an all-round knowledge of the fashion technology domain. Practical papers are an important aspect of this course. Students undergo various trainings ranging from Pattern making to Fabric construction lab.

Course delivery methods include, lectures, presentations, lab, seminars and industry visits. Internal Assessment is based on performance in assignments, projects, presentations and practical.

Students are also required to undergo an industry training of minimum 6 weeks in fashion industry or related organization. The industry training helps learn practical nature of the skills learned in the program.

Sewing Fundamentals

This course focuses on acquiring the basic skills related to sewing.

Surface Ornamentation

This course introduces and helps learn the art of surface ornamentation.

Textile Science

In this paper, a student learns about the science of textile production.

Introduction to Fashion Business

This course, apart from fashion bascis, also teaches the important art of business and entrepreneurship in the field of fashion.

Elements of Fashion and Advanced Drawing

Drawing is an important part of fashion designing and technology. In this paper, students learn the important art of fashion drawing.

Garment Construction

In this course students learn the techniques and methods of garment construction.

Fundamentals of Pattern Making

Patterns constitute an important part of fashion trends and this course aims to educate students on the basic theories of pattern making.

Elements of Design & its Application

In this paper, students learn the various theories and techniques related to Design and its practical application.

Traditional Indian Textiles and History of Indian art and costume

In this paper students learn about various Indian textiles and the history of Indian art and costume.

Fashion Stylization and Designing

This course is about the techniques involved in fashion designing and styling.

Pattern Manipulation

In this paper, students learn the skill of pattern manipulation to develop new designs and patterns.

Western Costume

This course explains the methods involved in creating Western Costumes.

Fashion Marketing

This paper is about the marketing techniques involved in Fashion industry.

Advanced Fashion Illustration

In this course students learn the methods and techniques involved in fashion specific illustrations.

Garment Assembling

This paper is about assembling techniques utilized in garment industry.

Computer Graphics

In this paper students learn the basics of generating computer graphics required to create digital fashion illustrations.

Export Merchandising

This paper focuses on the export aspect of merchandising.

Theatre Costume Designing

This course aims specifically on designing costumes for Theatre.

Textile Design

This paper introduces to the discipline of Textile Designing.

Accessory Designing

Accessories have become an integral part of fashion industry and this course justifiably teaches the basics of accessory designing.

Ans. Not still placed, I m a first-year student but the college has a good placement record. When I was taking admission I had conversed with many of the seniors and they are quite well placed and the only thing to note is, u might not get an initial high package but you will get exponential growth in your coming years.Read more

Ans. I chose this course because I always had a keen interest in art and creative design. My school art teacher also had a long record of training students for NIFT, as he had helped students to score AIR 1,2,3 many times. Student: faculty ratio is decent, neither too bad nor the best. It's almost around 28-1. Some faculties are very experienced but many are new. I mean they had passed NIFT themselves 5-6 years back and now they are also training students at the institute. I m a first-year student so i haven't appeared for any exam but i must say the curriculum has a very vast number of assignments for the student to complete before they appear for their respective exams.Read more

Ans. Campus placements happen in the last year that is 4 year. There are many companies visits like Tanishq and many more. Usually, the very big company are there. Package offer from 15-45 lakhs and more. 90% placements. After my degree, I would work under some company and would start up my own brand.Read more

Ans. I choosed this course because I had an intrusion towards the design field. There are girls to boy ratio of 5:1. The faculty is very good. The teaching method is very good. They teach in the perfect way. Through zoom meeting we even saw the real raw materials towards design which won't be possible in offline mode. The teachers are well qualified even done courses from abroad. The exams are a little tough. Especially the CAT test which is a drawing test where it judges on the basis of creative thinking.Read more

Ans. The college has good links for apparel retail brands like Arvind fashion ltd , Aditya Birla , apparel group etc . Unfortunately very few get placed for design . But in retail u can opportunity for merchandiser , fashion consultant etc. It will be highly paid internship and u have to go through Gd and PI . The internship will be 2 months long and it will be in the 2 year end. The placements will be in the last semester.Read more
