I had not opted the hostel but IMDR also provide the same. We can live in 2 hostel like, furguson college's hostel and BMCC's hostel with the distance of hardly 50 to 100 meters. The hostel are in the campus of college itself.
I have opted for hostel there are two hostels provided by the college one is the Ferguson college hostel with annual fees of 36000 rupees. The rooms are on sharing basis with two beds the seats are few and on first come first serve basis. The maintenance of Ferguson hostel is horrible. The other hostel is the BMCC hostel with two options for double sharing the fees is 80000 and for triple sharing the fees is 60000. The facilities and the rooms are spacious and clean.
I didn't opt for the hostel. A few of my friends lived in the hostel for a year and they had good experiences during that time. IMDR has a hostel available in partnership with Fergusson college. They are quite affordable around 30000 for the year and 2000 for two times a meal per month. But only suggested for people who need affordable accommodation due to financial issues or who willingly want to experience hostel life as hostel have its list of rules. There are ample accommodation facilities available around college like Flats and PG's on rent within a range of 2-5km which are quite affordable in terms of stay as well as for having food.
Hostel facilities are pretty good. And similar to other expenses, it is also pretty feasible. I paid 75 k as my one-year hostel charges. Hostel rooms are spacious. Boys hostel is relatively newer than the girls' hostel. We made lots of drool-worthy memories in the hostel and made a lot of good friends.
This is where college lacks hostel is somewhat shabby and most of the students don's prefer. Hostel seats are few as well however the fees of the hostel is very less. It was approximate 2000 at my time. There is no mess for the college students. PG and rental facilities are easily available and 90% of the students prefer those only. It is affordable depending upon the area one lives. cost of the food can varies from 40-100 per meal and there are several mess around the college where one can enjoy good quality food. Rent varies from 8-15k for 1 BHk and 15-20k for 2 BHK where 4-6 students normally stays.
As I had not opted for hostel so I donÕt have much idea but yes many of my friends live there and IMDR and ferguson college share their hostels and they are pretty good and big in a good budget. It a big hostels which consists basic amenities.
We had a pretty great infrastructure on our campus, especially the sports ground. Students are motivated towards taking part in various sports activities. Our college provided excellent facilities for sports both indoors and outdoors. A number of workshops are also a part of our curriculum.
They share the hostel with Ferguson College.
All the things are good at some point of level , Decent parties. Yes for , extra curricular activities. Hostel life is just awsome if the friend circle is cool.
The college only provided a boys hostel. No accommodation was provided to girls and we had to make our own PG/hostel arrangement. The average rental during that time in and around the college area was about 4000-6000 per person per month. The college had a small canteen which was homely and catered to very basic needs. However, quality of food and service was below average.
