INSTITUTE OF HOME ECONOMICS a twisting turn for life

Likes

Being an all girls college, the environment around here is so peaceful. The college crowd feels like a family of all girls.
The faculty is always there for you to help in everyway possible. They always guide you like mentors and plays a major role in your learnings.
The labs are very well-equipped with modern edge technology, projectors, smartboards, ventilated and air-conditioned classrooms.

Dislikes

The time tables are very hectic it feels like a 9 to 5 job to be here in the classes sometimes. They should be improved and made suitable for students.

Admission:

My choice for B.Sc. Hons Food Technology in this college was not due to limited options but instead of that I knew what career choices I wanted to make for the life that I manifest. I was getting admission in various other courses of different colleges but still I chose what was right for my career. The admission process is very simple, first clear your 12th board exams, then there is the CUET examinations , clear it with much decent marks and then there is the Csas counselling process. The cutoff is generally not high but the fewer courses makes it difficult to make it through.

The Institute of Home Economics- new but a legacy soon

Likes

The college premises feels very beautiful as it is a girls college it is also very peaceful. The girls whether of any course are very helpful and friendly in nature.
The labs are equipped with the best and advanced technologies which drives high both our eager and curiosity to learn more and more.
The infrastructure of the college is something that is not much talked about but it is unmatched to many other colleges of University of Delhi.

Dislikes

The college has very few courses as compared to other colleges. There should be addition of many other courses which could fetch more admissions in the coming year
The college time table whether of any course becomes too hectic sometimes like it feels like an unpaid 9 to 5 job. that should be definitely looked upon by the teachers and improved as per the suitability of students.

It was not like that I wasn't getting admission in other colleges except this one but the chice that I made was majorly due to the career planning that I had done in the early stages. I chose this college because of the advanced facilities it provide and also it is easier to commute for me to the college and back to my home and vice versa. The admission process involves clearing the 12th boards, then the CUET with decent marks, the cutoff is not much high for this college, but due to fewer courses, the competition feels tougher.

Faculty is very good teaching is nice and college canteen is affordable for student's.
College is well maintained and clean hygienic.
College washrooms are always clean and sanitary pads are available in college campus.

Dislikes

There is no medical room in the college campus.
College is too small there are only two buildings.
College campus doesn't have any playground of thier own.

I gave cuet for getting in to this college this was the first college I got alloted to and i freezed the option at first time or else I could be in North campus du colleges but this college is also very good and as I was getting my desired courses why would I back away so I chose it and it's genuinely a good college

Everything you needaa know about your college.

Likes

The college location is Hauz Khas which has great ambience and the crowd is also very nice.
Hauz Khas Metro Station Gate no. 3 is just 2 mins away from the college which is a upside.
It is a girls college which some of us prefer. Also, there are no strict rules for maintaining the so-called decorum of a college.

Dislikes

There is no playground for sports like football or other things. there is just a basketball court which is used for all other sports.
There is no active placement cell in this college.
Cultural Events are not held frequently.

Admission:

I chose this college as it it ranked in the top 3 amongst the other 8 DU colleges which has this course. Also, the location i find it too convinient for me. This college has very limited courses so there are decent number of children. I got confirmed admission from Gargi College also but that college has a bad reputation for things. I chose this as the faculty and pedagogical practices of this college are well praised in university.

The college is good in its education quality for food technology.Theoretical knowledge is provided by the best of the best faculties
Education and empowerment. The motto of the college is also to empower its women. Faculties their are very helpful in nature. T

Dislikes

The labs are not well equipped as it should be. Food technology is a very practical course even if we had the best faculty
Placements are a big issue for the college as there is no college drive which can help students get a foot hold in the job market

Admission:

The students should check the eligibility from the website and for the application procese there is a common form of delhi university which has to be filled online with all the details asked in it. Then delhi university releases its cut off where you can check if in any college you align with their released cut off if yes then go and apply there and get your documents verified. There are also OBC, SC, ST and sports quota available

Likes

College faculty is very great! they are very helpful towards the students plus teachers are really frank.
More focus on studies rather than other things it's a plus point if you want to study seriously for your future
Locality of the College is veryy veryy great. It's in hauz khas policy colony very great and safe environment for girls

Dislikes

Infrastructure of college is bit small compare to other DU colleges
Some teachers are rude..mainly aged teachers behave veryy rudely
It's a girls college..so it's kind of a backdrop for alot of students

Admission:

I give CUET and for admissions in dU college u need to clear Cuet with good marks..and all the process of Admission is done By NTA..They asked you to fill form and select college preferences according to yourself and than give cutoffs according to cuet marks

Likes

Faculty is great….The professors are highly knowledgeable and supportive.
We are given Practical work to nurture our skills
More focus is given on reading scholar rather than generic study culture.

Dislikes

Canteen food is not that clean but is okay
College is too small, The infrastructure is not upto marks like all classes do not contain AC
And there is no Broadcasting room…..There is only audio room.

Admission:

This College comes under the CUET UG Exam....which is conducted yearly in the month of April- May. The score needed for this college and course is 600 out of 800 for general category. The Exam is all about NCERT and also general test accommodates reasoning and maths till 8th....Kindly go through the syllabus available on the CUET website.

Likes

Teachers are very best in my college. They help their students much more in any college work.
There is a students Union in my college. They help us in many things.
There are many fests and festivals are celebrated in my college.

Dislikes

Chairs of the college, there are no benches for regular classes 😂
There is no marker boards in my college by which we can face difficulties while study in class.
There is no playground for students, there is only basketball court.

Admission:

The admission process was very easy and the entrance exam was through CUET and the application process and cut off was very well versed and convenient for students.The application form is provided on the official website of NTA and application fees is about Rs. 1700 and the form will be filled till march.

Likes

Syllabus are good and profess is very helpful and they give opportunity and they organize college fest . Class has happened all the days .

Dislikes

Dislike - Infrastructure could have been better, campus could have been bigger. Some professors are difficult to deal with, but overall, all of them are supportive and helpful

Admission:

Admission based on cutoff. Wr have to have all list first list second list third list . My number came in 5th list . Then I have to submit all the documents. After document verification our online classes started due to corona time.

Likes

The food in the canteen is superb and cheap as well.
The faculty and the students are lovely, always ready to help.
We also have a society specifically for stray cats and dogs in our college.

Dislikes

The college campus could have been bigger.
2 of my professors, one of them still lives in the 70s and one I still can't figure out why is she even teaching.
The administration section takes a lot if time to get things done.

My admission was based on merit basis, i.e., on the basis of my class 12th percentage. I found the application form on the official website of Delhi University. No reservation benefit is availed. Mine was a late admission, and I got the seat when someone left it to go to another college. It would be better if they had a more attentive admin dedicated specifically to enrollment-related queries, otherwise, it becomes very confusing.
