BMSCE, PES, AND MSRIT are present in Bengaluru and offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various streams. MSRIT ranked 59 by NIRF rankings, 2020. On the other hand, PES stands at 93rd and BMSCE in 69th position. All three colleges have an impressive placement record for the CSE branch. • For admission into MSRIT and BMSCE students need to apply online for the COMEDK entrance exam. The selection of the candidates is purely merit-based.
• Eligibility criteria remain the same for BMSCE and MSRIT that is 50% aggregate in 10+2 in the science stream. The registration process starts in the month of January. Total seat intake is 1320
• Students need to apply for the PESSAT/CET exam for admission into BTech courses. The total seat intake is 1380.

Course Fees:

• The course fee for MSRIR is affordable for every student, as compared to BMSCE and PES.
• BTech students need to pay a total of INR 2.69 lakhs at MSRIT, INR 9.16 lakh at BMSCE, on the other hand, INR 13.2 lakh at PES university.
• Students choose any one of them depending on their budget. The fees will be a little less for the day boarders

Placement Information:

• In recent placements, 358 companies visited, and MSRIT has made a placement record of 95%. More number of the students were placed in the CSE branch. The highest package offered was INR 50 LPA and the average was INR 7 LPA.
• A total of 200 companies visited the BMSCe college and the highest package offered was INR 6 LPA.
• In recent placements, more than 851 job offers were given at PES, out of which 11 students received offers from Microsoft. The highest package offered was INR 48 LPA.

A number of scholarships are available that include travel grants, book grants, students with low family income, and a lot more. Best placement offers are given to CSE students because of the high demand in the market. Special computer labs are also developed in these colleges for the benefit of the students. PES(People Education Society) and MSRIT(Ramaiah Institute of Technology ) are one of the oldest and reputed engineering colleges in India. According to NIRF Engineering ranking 2020, MSRIT stands at 59th position and PES university stands at 93rd position. Both colleges have good placement records and offer the best facilities to their students. The colleges offer various specialization in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses.

Admission:

• For admission into regular courses at PES, students need to apply for the PESSAT/CET exam. The application fee is INR 1050 and students need to apply online in the university portal.

• For admission into MSRIT, B.E. courses students need to fill the KCET/COMEDK entrance exam. The application fee(KCET ) is INR 500 and INR 750 for students studied outside Karnataka.

• The total number of seats for Mechanical engineering at MSRIT is 180 and 240 at PES.

• Eligibility for PES is 60% aggregate in 12th(science stream) and at MSRIT is 40% aggregate in 12th(science stream).

• Cut off for Mechanical Engineering at the institutes are PES - 3327(General), MSRIT - 3211(General).

Faculty:

• Both colleges have professors well versed in their area of specialization. Many of them are Ph.D. holders and graduated from IITs, NITs.

• They not only help students in their academics but also guide them with placements.

Course Fees:

MSRIT maintains an affordable fee structure as compared to PES. But both colleges offer scholarships under various categories to help students.

PES University:

• In the recent placement, PES made 851 offers.

• The highest package offered was INR 48 LPA and the median salary was INR 6.8 LPA.

• Top recruiting companies were Amazon, Flipkart, LinkedIn, JP Morgan.

MSRIT:

• In the recent placement drive, MSRIT maintained a decent 95% placement record. A total of 952 students were placed.

• The highest package offered was INR 50 LPA and the average package was INR 7.8 LPA.

• Top recruiting companies were Oracle, Google, Adobe, Microsoft.

Both colleges are a good option for students choosing mechanical as their career option. Research faculties help students in the field of research and development. It solely depends on the student to choose the college of his/her choice depending on the preferences.

While all three colleges are very well known in their areas. According to the NIRF ranking MSRIT, RVCE, and PES University are ranked 59, 201, and 93 for Engineering.

Placements:

MSRIT:

The college has a dedicated cell of placement established to help students gain internship and job opportunities. The placement cell also provides students with training including mock aptitude tests, psychometric tests, personality development, group discussions, etc.

• Currently, about 358 different companies visit the institute annually and about 1892 job offers are made.

• The highest package offered at the institute is about INR 50 lakhs per annum and an average salary package of INR 7.66 lakhs per annum.

• Some of the companies visiting the college include Avtec, Cisco, JP Morgan, Infosys, Subex, Samsung, etc.

RVCE:

• Placements at RV College of Engineering are quite impressive with about 90% of the students being placed in top firms in different industries.

• The average salary package offered to students ranges between INR 8 lakhs to INR 12 lakhs per annum.

• As of the 2020 placement drive which is still in progress, about 1274 offers have been made so far with 1452 total offers recorded in 2019.

• The highest pay package offered is INR 52 lakhs per annum with maximum offers bagged by students of the CSE branch.

• Some companies visiting the institute include Bosch, PayPal, Citi Bank, Wipro, L&T, Cisco, etc.

PES University:

• In 2019, about 56 companies visited the campus and 851 job offers were made to students.

• The highest average salary package offered is about INR 8 lakhs per annum and the highest package is offered at INR 48 lakhs per annum.

• Microsoft is the top recruiter at the college with 11 students having an average salary of INR 29.2 lakhs per annum.

• Companies like Deloitte, JP Morgan, Flipkart, Tech Mahindra, Mercedes Benz, Cleartrip, and Intel recruit students yearly.

These are the placement statistics for the institutes. All three colleges have good placement rates.

Many students claim that CSE/ECE at IIIT Guwahati is better than CSE/ECE at M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. Here are some of the supporting facts.

• IIIT Guwahati is getting better at all the parameters every year.
• One of the biggest advantages of choosing IIIT Guwahati over M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore is that it has a permanent director Mr. Gautam Baura who has served 33 years in IIT Kanpur and IIT Guwahati.

IIIT Guwahati also has a better brand value than M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore. Thus, the brand matters if you want to study or get a job abroad afterward.

After doing some research online, I would suggest not to go for IEM at Ramaiah, until and unless you are extremely interested in studying that particular subject. Since it will not pay you anything and you will eventually wind up in the same category of mass placement at one of the service-based companies. 

Double-check the topics you will be studying. EEE is usually less exposed than IEM, yet EEE is regarded as the most complex branch to be studied. 

The majority of EEE / ECE / other branches receive job offers from Infosys, HCL, Accenture, or Tech Mahindra.

So, what is the point of learning core Electronics if all you have to do at the conclusion of your engineering degree is code? If you want to build a career, think seriously about the branch you select. Regardless of the institution you attend, I believe EEE is far superior to IEM. Pursue EEE only if you are truly passionate about the subject.

NIT Mizoram is one of the top 31 NITs in India. It was ranked in the 90th position for Engineering courses in 2019. On the other hand, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT) is another most sought university that offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering.

NIT Mizoram-

• B.Tech, M.Tech, Ph.D. are the courses offered by the institutes. The admission is through JEE Main, GATE scores.

MSRIT-

• It offers B.E/ B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, MBA, MCA programs.
• KCET/ COMEDK, GATE, PGCET Karnataka, MAT are the accepted exams for admission to various courses at the institute.
• The course fee for different courses ranges from INR 66,806 to INR 1.29 lakhs.

Placements:

In terms of placements, MSRIT is slightly better as compared to NIT Mizoram with a 95% placement average.

MSRIT– Apart from notable placement rate, the institute is also known for its other facilities.

• This includes separate hostels for Girls and Boys, a vast library with adequate material for reference, data centers with good internet speed, and a gymnasium.
• The institute also provides varied scholarships in the form of fee concession, defense scholarship, alumni scholarship, post-matric scholarship.

NIT Mizoram–

• The institute consists of 5 hostels, training centers, a placement cell, a vast library, and gymnasium facilities for students.
• Scholarships are offered based on eligibility enlisted under the NSP portal.

Lastly, both the institutes have well-qualified faculties with years of experience. This is a general comparison between the two colleges. As no course is specified it is difficult to decide which institute is better. For choosing between the two, you should compare them based on the course you want to pursue and choose the one with the better program.

Both the colleges are equally good and have lived up to their reputation over the years. Both the institutes have NIRF rankings under Rank 60.

One perk of MSRIT is its location which is in the middle of the city, but RV College of Engineering is the best option considering the above factors.
