MITS LIFE

Likes

Cultural and sports day should be improved . More fests should be conducted.
My campus life is pretty good.Everyone are socially active and it is really fun to interact with everyone.
Faculties are qualified. There will be mentors for every student provided by the college.The placement facilities are the best feature of this college.They provide good placements and placement training for students.

Dislikes

Cultural and sports day can be improved .There are only 1 day each for sports day and cultural day.
More technical fests and program should be arranged..

Course Curriculum Overview:

Placements is the main factor which influenced me to choose this course. We will get only 4-4.5 months for each semesters . There will be 100 mark exam, duration: 3hrs.The exams are not too tough, we can pass the exam easily.

The functioning of the college especially in my dept. is very disciplined and structured.
The college has excellent clubs like Mit Motorsports club,which won the national go-kart championship last year along with other clubs like IEEE ,SAE,Rotaract
Funding support from the college for good projects is exceptional. For go-kart the college took all the cost and supported us with 5 lakh total

Dislikes

Major events - Varnam(Cultural Fest) and Shreshta(Tech fest) no other events.If other events organised it's a luck.
The scholarship can get cancelled if you fails in exams or get incremented and decremented. It solely depends on your sgpa.

Placement Experience:

The placements offered are excellent. You get placement offers higher here compared to other private colleges like Rajagiri and TocH. Currently even though it is recession, we got many core offers, like L&T Ashok, Leyland, Vguard, RDC cement, Synopsys, Cadence etc for non-IT departments. The average package is 4.5 Lpa. Last year the highest package was 15Lpa(Cadence), and 13 Lpa( Synopsys) both from the Electrical Department. For CS you can get many offers.

A normal student life

Likes

The atmosphere is very good for studies and you will have great opportunities where you can show many talents.

Dislikes

The college is very strict and there is neither programs nor any entertainment purposes

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is good and if we follow it in the right way, it is quite easy. The exam dates are in a way having enough study leaves, so it is easy for us to be prepared for it. Basically, the course is divided into even and odd semesters. But now, it seems like everything is the same. Even if it is an even or odd sems, the no of working days is less. We dont have much time for studying or for being well prepared. It is a major fault

Well experienced faculties who teaches you very well.Extra classes will be given to you if you have any difficulties with the subject.They are very friendly towards the students.
Overall the collage is good.It has a vast placement option as compared to other self financing collages.The classrooms and overall atmosphere of the collage is good for the students and helps them focus on there studies.
While saying about the hostel.It ensure discipline neatness and good food

Dislikes

As compared to other colleges the number of programs and other celebration are limited here.But after a sem we become adjusted to the rules and regulations of the collage.
I felt that some of the faculties have a small partiality towards some students.
If we need to move to our home from hostel we need to take hostel pass which is approved through the etlab application, sometimes I feel difficulty in using this app .

Course Curriculum Overview:

As a civil student the collage provides a good curriculum.I provides us with good labs which have all the equipments we need for studies.As a civil student I think practicals are more effective than theory classes as it helps us to show real world application.I think the course curriculum has to give practicals more that theory topics.

Teaching faculties are very understanding and convincing.
The college area is student friendly and the campus is nice.
The placement preparations are dope and strict.

Dislikes

Placement Experience:

The number of placements provided is a decent number and starting from semester six it would start. Many prominent companies like ibm, Soti are here for selecting children after conducting a coding test.

Likes

The college has good results among other colleges and also the placement percentage is also quite high
The college provides various internships and technical programs which will help us to improve our technical knowledge
The faculties are well educated and they will help us anytime without any problems

Dislikes

Actually there is nothing to say as negative about the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement ratio of the college is very high. We will be eligible for campus placements for sixth semester onwards. Mainly many IT companies comes for the placement with an average package of 4 lakhs. The placement ratio is very high, if there are total of 600 students then above 500 of students will get placed.

Likes

The college is very spacious and well builded
Good canteen and playgrounds are available
The teachers and staffs are very friendly

Dislikes

Poor hostel food and sometime good food i guess
Very strict college and strict teachers sometimes

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course that I took is good and higher opportunities are awaiting I guess and AI is the future so I will be good but Completing this course Is another level of headache daily assignments, tests, exams and all. Teaching methods are good and understandable.

Many Oppurtunites are provided especially for CS branches
The Faculty and teaching style is top notch.
The equipment ,infrastructure and labs are of of latest models and of high quality.

Dislikes

Quite strict, school-like campus life, not suitable for ppl who are looking forward to the typical “btech life”.
Girls hostel has too many restrictions- curfew is 6:30pm, you cant leave the campus walls without a pass from your parents, you cant have vehicles(ONLY for girls).
Not many events or programms. We have usually just an onam and a techfest.

Placement Experience:

As per my knowledge, i believe my college provides one of the best placements in kerela,especially for the cs department. As i have mentioned earlier our college has been rated the best for cs under ktu.

The atmosphere is too good to focus on studies and all the faculties are friendly so that you can clear all your doubts. Also the college is really supportive and encouraging to all our ideas and viewpoints. All new ideas are always appreciated.
I feel really great to be able to join this college. To actually compete with students who are as talented as you. Also the competitions are healthy unlike in someother colleges these leads to someother problems.
I am so happy to join the cyber security course here as our college is NBA accredited in this course and all the faculties are really expert in this field

Dislikes

The college puts a lot of pressure on you to focus on studies and its really result oriented approach.
Co curricular activities are not as much encouraged as studies. Also the campus is just like a school. By joining a college a student must get enough exposure and freedom to be able to really enjoy campus life
Programs are very less. Its always studies that happens rather than something refreshing for the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course and curriculum is too skeleptal for the students. Working days are less when compared to exam days. Every month tests are held. This instead of helping the students to learn are creating unwanted pressure among students .

MITS : A brutally honest review

Likes

The teachers here are good, the provide good materials and interactive classes
There is no ragging whatsoever aside from slight teasing from seniors, everyone is friendly

Dislikes

The uniforms for girl students is bad, when in summer it's too hot to sit in class and they don't provide AC even though they have it
There are multiple levels in a building but students aren't allowed to use lifts and have to climb 5-6 flight of stairs everyday to get to class

Placement Experience:

For third year all students receive campus placement training and this year even second years are being given small training. They teach us about resume building and provide opportunities for internships and entrepreneurships. There is many clubs for developing skills and those helps in resume building and everyone is encouraged to be in these clubs. Companies like WIPRO, IBM and UST global have come here for recruitment as far as I know. Almost all students get placed and the average package is about 5-8 LPA . I plan on doing work for a year and proceeding to furthered studies after that, probably in MBA
