SVU Tirupati was established in 1954. It was upgraded to Directorate of Distance Education and commonly known as SVU DDE in April 1995.

Distance education encourages students to pursue education through correspondence if at all they cannot pursue the regular mode of study.

Sri Venkateswara University Directorate of Distance Education (SVU DDE) is for admission to courses through correspondence. Admissions are offered in various UG, PG and PG Diploma courses through SVU DDE. Courses offered include, BA, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Lib.Sc, MA, M.Sc, M.Lib.I.Sc, MBA, M.Com, PG Diploma in 2 specializations.

Applications are accepted online through SVU DDE website or SVU Tirupati campus window.
All admissions are merit based, that is, scores obtained in the previous qualifying examination.
Only those students who cannot attend the regular or full time courses can apply for admission here.
Degrees are UGC recognized and are offered only upon completion of the exams and project work (if any).

SVU DDE Application Process 2024

The application process in Sri Venkateswara University is offline.

Applications start in July every year.
Candidates are advised to check the website on a regular basis.
Candidate first have to download their application form from the university website in which course they want to apply to.
Sri Venkateswara University, also enrolls the students for a particular specific course on their study centers.

Ans. The application form fee INR 350. The candidates are advised to fill the application form and pay the application fee. The form and prospectus can also be downloaded from the university official website.

The admission process was tough. Selection of the candidates was done on the basis of APICET common entrance test conducted by the university.
