JGEC B.Tech: Fees 2026, Course Duration, Dates, Eligibility

Ans. JGEC offers B.Tech in six specializations: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. All are 4-year full-time programmes affiliated to MAKAUT and approved by AICTE.

Ans. B.Tech fees at JGEC range from INR 35,809 for Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering to INR 1,09,309 for Information Technology. CSE and ECE are priced at INR 60,309. All fees are provisional and subject to revision. Hostel charges of INR 21,250 per semester are payable separately.

Ans. B.Tech admission at JGEC is through WBJEE 2026 and JEE Main 2026. West Bengal domicile candidates primarily apply via WBJEE. Non-domicile candidates are considered under the JEE Main quota per WBJEEB norms. WBJEEB centralized counselling begins from June 29, 2026.

Ans. Yes. JGEC B.Tech graduates are eligible for GATE, qualifying them for M.Tech at NITs and IITs, and for PSU direct recruitment at organizations such as BHEL, ONGC, and NTPC. AICTE approval and NAAC A accreditation support eligibility across PSU recruitment drives.

Ans. B.Tech students at JGEC can avail the WB SC/ST Post-Matric and OBC-A/OBC-B scholarships via oasis.gov.in, AICTE Pragati at INR 50,000 per year for women, AICTE Saksham at INR 50,000 per year for differently-abled students, the Central Sector Scheme at INR 12,000 per year, and the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means scholarship at INR 1,000 to INR 1,500 per month.
