PUMBA Course Admission 2025: Dates, Fees, Eligibility, Application Process, Selection Criteria

Quite good and honestly, most non-Maharastra students tend to not take admissions beyond these 5–6 colleges. You may have to score in the range of 98%ile to 99.9 to get into some of these colleges.

There are fair chances of Non - Maharashtra students of getting the above-mentioned colleges under All India Category seats as per DTE Maharashtra for MS and PGDM programs. In colleges such as SIMSREE & PUMBA, more seats are reserved for students from Maharashtra as compared to seats for students from the All India category. Direct admission to PUMBA (Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune) is not possible as per their admission guidelines. PUMBA offers admission to its MBA program through a centralized admission process based on the scores of MAH CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test), CAT (Common Admission Test), CMAT (Common Management Admission Test), or GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test).

As you have mentioned that you scored a very low percentile in MAH CET, you may still have other options to consider. See if you have enough CAT or GMAT score. Candidates who are allotted seats by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) need to confirm their admission at the Department of Management Sciences (PUMBA) by submitting their original documents and paying the fees during CAP Round 1 & 2, as per the specified dates by DTE. Seat allotment is done based on ranking or percentiles obtained in CET exams through CAP Rounds 1, 2, and 3.

It is important to note that only after being selected through CAP rounds, candidates become eligible for admission to PUMBA. There are no management quota seats available in PUMBA as it is a government department and one of India's premier business schools, which operates autonomously under Savitribai Phule Pune University.

First of all, congrats on that percentile. Since the cutoff is 98-99+ and you are from the general category, unfortunately your percentile is not enough for PUMBA. Using your CET score, you can still apply for PGDM courses in different NL Dalmia, Wellingkar, KJSIMSR Mumbai, XIMR Mumbai, and Chetana institutions.

Yes, it is possible to cancel admission after completing the first year in PUMBA if you score well in the next year's MBA CET exam. However, if you choose to do so, you will have to repeat the first year of the MMS course at a different college if you decide to take admission in another institute. Your earlier allotment or CAP participation will not be considered in any way for the new MMS course. It is important to note that you will have to justify the one-year gap or the first year of MMS at a different college during your summer and final placement interviews. This scenario is not uncommon, as many students take admission in a particular institute due to unpredictability in the entrance exam results.
