Admission to the college is merit-based, focusing primarily on academic performance, especially inter-based marks. The Degree Dost program ensures that only qualified students are selected. The college boasts about 30 qualified lecturers per department, many with doctorates, offering both in-person and online quality teaching. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of theory, especially in labs, with strong faculty-student relationships fostering a supportive learning environment. Tuition fees vary by course, typically ranging from Rs 23,000 to Rs 30,000 annually, with fees collected in the first and third years.
A fee reimbursement scheme is promised but not returned. Placement opportunities vary; biotechnology students face limited options, while commerce and particularly MPCS and MPCIS streams have better prospects. Notable companies such as CGN, Wipro, and Tata Group, along with multinationals like Google and Microsoft, participate in the annual campus placements. The highest placement package is 5 lakh per annum, the lowest is 1 lakh, and the placement rate is 70%.
Eligibility for placements begins in the 6th semester. Scholarships are offered based on caste and economic background, with direct deposits into students' accounts. Students with a family income below Rs 1,50,000 can avail of financial aid, like the Telangana ePass scholarship, offering approximately Rs 20,000. Despite delays in scholarship disbursements by the Telangana government, this aid significantly offsets tuition costs. The university also offers a fee reimbursement scheme upon graduation. Facilities include a hostel for senior students, a library, and favorable conditions for internships and job placements, especially for postgraduates.
Telangana University, with a history spanning over 100 years, was the first in Telangana to achieve this milestone.
