IMED Pune Eligibility Criteria & Selection

IMED Pune admission to the BBA and BCA programs requires a 10+2 pass, and selection is based on BUMAT followed by a personal interview. For the MBA and MBA-HR programs, candidates must be graduates with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) and are selected through the BMAT personal interview.

The MCA program requires graduation with Mathematics at 10+2 or during graduation with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST), and admission is based on BMAT, PI. For the Ph.D. in Management, a postgraduate degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) is required, and selection is through an entrance test and interview.

• MBA / MBA–HR / MBA–IT: Candidates seeking admission to the MBA programs must possess a bachelor's degree of at least 3 years duration with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for candidates belonging to reserved categories). Admission is granted based on the candidate’s performance in the BMAT (Bharati Vidyapeeth Management Aptitude Test), followed by a group discussion and personal interview conducted by the institute.
• MCA: Applicants must have completed a Bachelor's degree (minimum 3 years) in any discipline with Mathematics as a compulsory subject at either the 10+2 or graduation level. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for the reserved category) is required. Admission is offered based on BMAT scores, followed by GD and PI.
• BBA / BBA (Hons.): For the undergraduate BBA programs, candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination from a recognized board. Admission is merit-based and determined by performance in BUMAT (Bharati Vidyapeeth Undergraduate Management Aptitude Test).
• BCA/BCA (Hons.): Applicants must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and Mathematics as a subject at the 10+2 level. Admission is done through BUMAT, followed by centralised counselling by the university.
• PhD (Management Studies): Candidates must hold a master’s degree in the relevant management field from a recognized university. Admission is based on BVU’s PhD Entrance Test, or eligibility via UGC-NET/SET scores, followed by a university-conducted interview as per UGC guidelines.

Admission Procedure

1. Entrance Exams:
   • UG (BBA/BCA): Based on BU-MAT scores.
   • PG (MBA/MCA): Based on BMAT scores.
   • PhD: Through the All-India Entrance Test conducted by BVDU (exempted for UGC-NET/GATE qualifiers)
2. Counselling & Seat Allocation: Based on entrance rankings and seat availability (including international/NRI/Institutional quotas).
3. Final Admission: Pay fees and submit required documents (mark sheets, entrance score card, migration certificate, photograph, etc.)

Application Process

1. Visit the IMED admission portal on the official website.
2. Register and fill out the application form online.
3. Upload scanned documents and photographs.
4. Pay the application fee (approx. INR 2,000 for BMAT; 1,500 for BUMAT)
5. Download the admit card for the respective test.
6. Attend the entrance exam, followed by counselling, document verification, and fee payment.

Entrance Exam Agencies & Seat Distribution

• BU‑MAT / BMAT: Conducted by Bharati Vidyapeeth (online mode).
• Seat Allocation: 15% for the NRI/Foreign/Institutional category; remaining seats filled based on exam merit and counselling outcome.

Total Intake (Seats)

The total intake for the MBA, MBA-HR, and MBA-IT programs at IMED Pune is 240 seats combined. The MCA program has an intake capacity of 60 seats. While the official intake for BBA and BCA programs is not disclosed, the typical annual intake for each is around 240 students. The Ph.D. in Management Studies does not have a specified seat intake.
