Remarks:

Pros: 1) The college has taken several good initiatives this year like Choose your own faculty, Introduction of the SLP program for better preparation during placements, Introduction of subjects like GST, and also some minor tweaks to the existing curriculum. Evaluation Pattern is better to be discussed once you step in the MBA course of the college. 2) Improved discipline by the college authority, but some rules are too stringent (My personal opinion invest those discipline in academics aspect that will help to boom the college) Cons: 1) The batch size is scheduled to increase to 1300 students this year (for the batch of 2018–2020), no matter how much the college and its alumni will try to justify, the college administration wants to make it a “MINI INDIA” where all the culture is blended together and this becomes a huge problem during placements. ICFAI Hyderabad gives you plethora of opportunities for companies (i.e TRUE) but people who are having work ex are not turned up with the satisfactory job profile what they wish to look for and even fresher student’s too. This year (2017–2019 batch) at the very moment while I am writing this, almost 400+ students still remain unplaced (January, 2019). Placement process is still going on (started from the month of September). Few opts out from the placement process due to family business or opening a new venture. 2) The hostels are in poor conditions, few things are broken, the WIFI sucks and the college rarely spends any money in maintenance. The food quality in mess is satisfactory enough given the fact that Sodexo manages the food service here. Though these little things might not bother to most of you, but if you are paying 16 lakhs for a college, you ought to look at these factors. 3) Coming to academics, the overall quality of teaching has taken a significant dip, most of the faculties are low on experience and the teaching is of mediocre quality, perhaps you would be able to absorb the subject as much as possible. This doesn’t mean ICFAI Hyderabad doesn’t have good faculties, in fact there are some amazing faculties and when you have 13 sections in Semester 1, the chances of you getting a good faculty are very low. (Reason of huge intake again comes in to picture) 4) The placements have improved significantly as compare to last year, though there are still 400+ students who are yet to be placed. From marketing perspective the profiles available mostly are sales and business development ones. Few are Analyst and Digital marketing profile.

Girish Singh
SagardeepMBA in Marketing, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (Graduated 2018)

At IBS Hyderabad, you will experience a unique and transformative journey in your MBA education. This college is not bound by traditional discipline-based curriculum but instead provides you with the opportunity to develop your skills and become a better working professional. The journey can be divided into three phases: Realization, Launchpad, and Accomplishment.

During the first few months, you will have realizations about the challenges of college life, such as average quality food and poor facilities. However, you have the option to either complain about these issues or try to adjust and make the best of the situation. Choosing the latter will allow you to turn IBS Hyderabad into your second home, where you will build relationships with classmates and make your studies enjoyable.

In the third semester, after completing a summer internship, you will experience a completely different environment. The college challenges you to improve and perform better in all areas of your life. With competitive placements and classmates, you will push yourself to reach your full potential.

Finally, in the Accomplishment phase, you will achieve remarkable things and develop friendships that will last a lifetime. You will also be challenged to try new things, such as a stand-up act, which will help you grow as a person.

In conclusion, anyone can join IBS Hyderabad regardless of their background or scores. However, to fully take advantage of the opportunities available, it is important to be willing to work hard and change yourself. The college will give you what you contribute to it, so it is up to you to decide if IBS Hyderabad is worth your investment.

I have 2 years of work experience and I have got admission to IBS Hyderabad. Should I join? Is it good?

Saija LuthraStudied at IBS Hyderabad

To make an informed decision, you need to analyze your future prospects. Consider where you see yourself two years from now, or, if money is a primary concern for you, estimate how much you will earn in two years.

The average package offered by IBS Hyderabad is 6 lakhs. However, if you have a couple of years of experience and are in the top 10th percentile of your batch, there is a good chance you could earn 7-8 lakhs. In this case, enrolling in IBS Hyderabad would be a viable option if you don't see yourself earning a similar salary within two years.

Furthermore, you should evaluate your ability to gain admission to a better business school such as an IIM. If you have the potential to do so, it would be a wise decision to invest your efforts into pursuing this opportunity. However, if you really believe that you are not in that league, enrolling in IBS Hyderabad would still be a viable option, as discussed in the second paragraph.

How is IBS Hyderabad for MBA co-curricular, extra curriculum, campus life, and environment?

Satyam Purwar
Shubham GuptaStudied at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad

In pursuing an MBA at IBS Hyderabad, a case-based study methodology is utilized for teaching. The professor will provide a case for every class, and students must prepare for the case by reviewing relevant chapters and linking the concepts to the practical example discussed in the case. During class, the professor will manage the discussions on the case and students will present their viewpoints, which may be accepted or countered by the professor. The professor will guide the discussions to ensure the correct understanding of concepts is reached. In some instances, concepts will be taught by the professor. However, the college encourages self-study and does not spoon-feed the students.

A wide range of student clubs is available on campus, covering various fields. Each club is managed by students with a professor acting as a mentor. The clubs are responsible for conducting various activities such as quizzes, treasure hunts, guest lectures, movie screenings, sports competitions, and more. These clubs provide students with exposure to event management.

Annual events include a festival in January, where all clubs are responsible for preparing different events, and an annual sports fest organized by the sports club, where students from different colleges participate.

IBS Hyderabad offers a vibrant campus life with facilities such as a resort-like environment, two food messes, two cafeterias, an all-night cafeteria, and a well-equipped gym. The clubs schedule events during weekends and the college have a bus service to the city. On weekdays, buses run only in the evenings while on weekends they run throughout the day. Food festivals are regularly organized in the food messes, and there are many small dhabas and restaurants near the campus to cater to students' taste buds.
