The student seeking admission in the institute will be eligible if the student has given CSIRUGC (NET) and then there would be an interview round for the selection process. The mission of the college is to carry out multidisciplinary areas of highly developed complex structure of earth's structure and their interlinked substructures.The students are given a close understanding of the Earth's processes , producing strategies to minimize loss of life and property and natural disasters. NGRI is structured into seven major R&D groups and activities(21) which gives the students information about a variety of geochemical techniques like geomagnetism, geochronlogy, seismology, airborne geophysics etc.I would highly recommend this college to those who have interest in geography & research.

Candidates should have M.Sc/M.Sc Tech/M.Tech degree with first class in any branch of physical sciences (i.e. Geosciences, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) and have qualified CSIRUGC (NET) examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). Selection will be through an interview of the shortlisted candidates. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for appearing in the interview.

Our college hosts new year celebrations, saraswati puja, ganesh puja and many more every year. We also have medical facilities, Daycare and CSIR-NGRI schools are available in the campus. We even have sports complex inside the campus. The hostels are provided with Wi-Fi, spacious rooms and cleaned toilets.

The college is fine in teaching and other facilities. The college has dormitories for parents to stay at least 5 days. Canteens are available with good quality food at reasonable costs. The college even has gym and yoga room facilities with are well-equipped and maintained.

NGRI is really a promising institute for students of doctorate . All supportive professors and all facilities for research makes it more efficient. Library is plus point of institute which is big. All subject related books are available in library. I highly recommend geochemistry / geological interested students to join NGRI.
