SMIT Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Very very good college for a student. Good environment, good teacher, nice classroom, nice hostel. The placement is very good. Good security for all students and teachers. Helpfull people are also there.

Overall - SMIT, with its foundation built in its efficient college management, is a good private Engineering college, which offers students a solid technical education, as well as honing their creative selves and personalities, and offering them plentiful exposure to the outside world, all while maintaining a sense of discipline as well as fun and enthusiasm within its grounds amidst the mountains of Sikkim.

Placement was good for Computer science and Electronics and communication students. Other than that it was the worst placement cell. Didn't take any initiative. 30-40% students got placed till now. Amazon, Dell, Ixia, FLSmidth, Wells Fargo, Bosch, Wipro, etc visited our campus. Average package was around 3 lakhs.

The college management is good enough, but still many areas where the college needs improvement.

Great place to be

I took the SMIT entrance test and I ranked 151 and I opted for this because Manipal was a fairly renowned name and on top of that my parents didn't want me to go too far from my home-town.

I came to this college through my JEE mains score. The location which is quite near to my hometown made made me chose this college.

Common Entrance Test my deptt was one of the best deptt of college as per the Ranking they will give you the options(left) to choose your stream in which you may want study.

I gave SMU entrance exam and scored 78 percent. After which recieved a call letter and went through counselling process for admission.

I took MU-OET. MY rank was 11,230. Based on the ranking and counselling for the ECE branch I had an option of choosing between Manipal jaipur or Sikkim Campus. I am Nature lover, who admires scenic beauty. So I choose SMIT.
