Likes

Campus and there views and security are very good
Labs and there facilitys that they provide to student
Senior are verry friendly and Frank to junior

Dislikes

Professors they show verry attitude to cse students
Coding culture are verry bad in smit not that good
Behaviour of college staff is verry bad..

Admission:

I choice smit becouse of Manipal brand value that other tier 3 college can't give me and in smit there is atleast a liveable condition compare to other tier 3 college like gl bajaj golgotias and kiet Gaziabad

The environment of our college the natural beauty and the mountains covered ara
The academic faculty of the college , the teaching staffs are very friendly
Everyone in this college has a very friendly and capable attitude

Dislikes

Attendance factors of the college has created me some troubles

Admission:

My parents wanted my to experience outer world but the didn't want me to go a very far distance, so according to my preference they go me admitted in this college for My Bachelors Degree, As my home is in Siliguri so Sikkim was out of town also but not too far from Siliguri and even SMIT had a great name of its own

first impressions

Likes

college campus, teachers , technical facilities and the faculties supporting the students in every aspects .
the placements cell worked very effectively on a war mode basics to help each and every student to get place in the available .
the infrastructure is very good . it has an auditorium , sports area named marena, play area, hostels .

Dislikes

NA, as there are no such things i disliked regarding the college .
NA, the play area is a bit smaller in compared to the campus
NA, the extreme clashes or fighting between different student gangs ,

Admission:

SMIT is one of the best colleges in north east .Further it is accredated with NAAC+ and NBA. further smit has all branches accredations (cse, it , civil etc .) ,every student studyingb in the north east in std 12 or diploma enginneering once have a dream to get into smit . also the enviroment it provides is just wow.

Likes

The environmental is simple and good for the upcoming generation
The teacher are very helpful and problem soving so which helps in personal growth
The subjects being taught are similar or likely taught relating the future aspects

Dislikes

The program scheduled is pretty haptic and .
The programs being conducted by the college may distrub the classes of the students being participating
Time schedule of the classes are bit undefined

Admission:

I was selected in for Downtown university but for my personal ease i choose to study in SMIT. No i was not being rejecte form any colleges. Due to some of my personal problems i decided to joing SMIT as wishing to study at the college situated over my own state. The one who and compled the diploma course doesn't require any kind of exam to get admission over the college But one who wants to joing after completing the scholling life should give the entrance exam conducetd by SMIT

The teachers are very helpful , you can approach them at any point of time. And they are ready to help you and you can call the
The class rooms are very big and the chairs in it are very comfortable

The exams and tests are very often as compared to other universities

Admission:

I am a 80 percentile student and i got admission in SMIT with 20 percent discount i had to pay rs 50000 as the admission fee which was later on included in my course fee, i chose this college as the college has a very good reputation and a good campus and placement rates

Likes

I like to play basketball and football and every sports
I love to eat Canteen food and juice and every canteen food
Classroom is nice and big Air conditioner is cool and I love desk bench it's nice and comfortable

Dislikes

Teachers are the things I dislike the most they don't know how to treat student
Also I dislike collage attandance criteria which is strict 80% minimum
I also dislike security gaurd of our collage everyday I go to same collage with same face though he asks for identity card everyday

Admission:

To be brutally honest I would like to tell you guys there I didn't knew that time I would ended in college like this I didn't aspected that I don't even know how did I end up in engineering college when I was not even interested in engineering at first place I was just interested in simple simple studies like BSc business something like that good I don't know like time flys so much faster than we espect my brother give me link of this collage online registration link of this college so we are that time the time and brother send me this I didn't have other option no because that time the admissions were closed everywhere I was not active enough to look after all this when I had the time

Good environment, with the campus being beautiful.
Lots of activities, have taken part in many.
The seniors and teacher here are really friendly and helpful.

Dislikes

There are a lot of exams, with the college following the same old system followed by most engineering colleges.

Don't really have any reason why I chose this college. It was near my house, and due to the delay in cuet results and for various other reasons we came to visit this college. My cousins have studied here and I liked it so chose this college.

Overall smit review

Likes

Faculty is very interactive and some of the teachers are doing it PhD and are on placement teaching us
Really feel like college the campus is so good
It contains all the facilities like Domino's pizza and there are various food courts and shops you don't need to go outside often

Dislikes

The road which connect to is SMIT is sometimes block which cost trouble
If you want to go outside in the market it is little bit far away like 2 to 3 km

Admission:

I choose this college over the other college I of blind because it is closer to my home and the course fee according to the teaching standard is the very much reasonable over here compared to other colleges get me some process is very simple you just have to book your seat and give a mini interview in front of your tg I also apply for Delhi University and I got confirm admission but at that time to you was not offering BCA course in which I had interest

A review to smit college.

Likes

The facilities that are available in college eg: gym,indoor courts,outdoor stadiums and labs for every department.
Every individual teacher is well qualified in his/her field.
The surroundings, campus and the most important one weather this is amazing in this college.

Dislikes

There is many exams example In Per year there is two semester and in each semester you have to give two sessional exams and two quizzes of 5 marks each.
We have to pay for gym and swimming pool.
Mess and canteen food sometimes get bad in taste.

Admission:

Actually I got the idea to get in this college is from some broker whose work is to suggest college regarding your budget and where you want to study. I didn't apply for any other colleges as once I got to talk with this college faculties they confirmed my admission and made me easy to choose. Admission procedure of this college is nothing to stress you just have to come here personally with your documents and parents/guardians and then you can pay for your fees only this thing you have to do to get here.

A small overview of SMIT

Likes

There is an appreciative gender ratio in the college which will be approx 2:5. There is always an equality maintained between the gender and no gender is given an upper hand or extra opportunity.
The quality of social life is engaging and it is fun to be in the campus where you can involve in various clubs, workshop, events etc .You are always most welcomed here to shocase your talent and grow your personality in things apart from academics
The most beautiful thing about this institute is the campus situated at the river side of Teesta river and surrounded by lush green mountains and beautiful nature . Though the campus is only of 38 acre but you will always be amazed by the scenery.

Dislikes

The placement services are decent but not that good and you would have to really work hard to get a decent package .
Since the institute is situated between the mountains it is disadvantageous also in the aspect of connectivity and transportation
There are frequent power cuts also due to the weather conditions in months of September and October and there can also be water problems at time of summers

Admission:

The other colleges that I applied for were SRM , VIT , MANIPAL JAIPUR. Though I got selected in all of them still I chose smit over all of them because of the Location and Environment: SMIT is located in Sikkim. What SMIT had going for it was a very peaceful environment amidst nature. I had always been more comfortable in a campus that was serene as compared to VIT or SRM, which were located in busy urban cities. Affordability: The overall fee structure at SMIT was highly affordable when compared with others .This was a primary decision-making point as the overall cost of living and studying there was much more feasible. Repute for Engineering: SMIT has some excellent reputations for Computer Science, and Mechanical Engineering, which aligned with my career goals. Smaller Campus Size: I like the small campus for a closer relationship between students and faculty, unlike a huge student body like VIT's, which might detest the delivery of focused personalized attention.
