Honest review as a student of NEW HORIZON COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING

Likes

Campus infrastructure is really good, advanced smart boards every classroom and washrooms are very neat
The canteens are the best part. there are 4 canteens- udupi, tango, nescafe and munch offer good foods for reasonable student friendly amount
The cultural fests, and student club activities are very active. fests like SARGAM, garbha night, diwali nights, udaan, student club activities like blood donation camps are fun to join

Dislikes

The attendance criteria is 85%. every student in nhce dislikes about it
NHCE charges fines for everything like lab component breakage and aquiries thefty amount fine
The teachers are sometimes mean and strict

Admission:

I got this college in my kcet counselling rounds. i choose this college in my options as it is considered one of the good colleges in banglore with good reputation and placements. i also applied to vit university, nits iits and iiits counsellings, amrita college and bits university, i got a seat in vit amritha and iiit, but due to some factors like travelling issues, health issues i choose nhce as it is much safer near to my house and good college

New Horizon basics

Likes

Location is really good considering there are many companies located right beside and around the campus
Campus, even though it is small. gives a really good vibe
Industry sponsored labs, which help you get a hands on experience on various softwares used

Dislikes

Location, too much traffic surrounding the college
Commuting daily takes around an hour minimum if you are staying more than 10km away
Exams have very few days for preparation

Admission:

I tried for dayanand sagar but didnt want to get into it as the fees was on the higher side comparing to new horizon college. I specifically chose new horizon as it is really close to variois companies and is in fact situated at the centre of the IT hub. The admission process is simple, go to the reception, they will guide you the process of enrolling into the college, they will provide the fee structure that you have to pay.

i have also seen many colleges but noone of them gave the good vibes as this college gave me and also the ambience of this college really got me through to join actually this college is good but the only thing is it is a little strict and the admission process went really smooth we have to first write application form and then we will be sent to one the admission person they take us through the whole process

The life of a new horizon college of engineering student

Likes

I like the teachers here means the teach very well and are very responsive to the students
Teachers teach very well and are very responsive to the students
I like the programs and festivals in this college like they call many big celebrities to festivals

Dislikes

I don't like the class timings of the college
I don't like some of the rules like they charge fine for each and every at they try to get money
In this college the value only for money they attempt to take money as a fine from students in every way possible

Admission:

I applied to other colleges as well in Bangalore like are we college Dayanand Sagar College BMS College and other reputed colleges but my KCET rank was low to get that college but my rank full filled this New horizon College of engineering so I choose this college to join and the admission process of this college is simple we should get a order letter from kea website and should pay the lab fees and other fees of the college it was good experience while getting admission in this college.

Likes

The teachers here are really supportive..they are always there for the students in case they have any doughts
They conduct a lot of activities that can help you in someway in the future
We have a clean and plastic free campus..always neat

Dislikes

Classes are too long and not much free time
Don't like the vibes of the students here

I applied to almost all the top colleges around Bangalore but my scores were too low to get in to any of them.. of all the colleges I could get in to, new horizon had the best placements All you have to do is enter the college and pay the fee if you have passed your 12th

the cannten food in clg very affordable and the quality is decent
the campus of the clg is very well maintained
the teachers are very friendly in this clg

Dislikes

the size of the campus is very small thats one thing
the travel time for me is close to an hour. thats a thing i dont like
the area arround the clg is always filled with traffic

i had applied to many colleges other than nhce in bangalore such as pes, rv, ms ramaiah and dayanand sagar college of enginerring. but i chose nhce because this was the the only college which was closest from my home

Likes

The campus is large and has many useful amenities such as club rooms that are very useful for discussions.
Love the free time the college provides so that there is no strain or pressure on any student.
The faculty members are very kind-hearted and tend to the students to clear the most smallest doubt and the college is very secure.

Dislikes

Not provided free parking for students. Only for cars, as 2 wheelers are permitted to park on campus for free
Swimming pool is not there which is slightly disappointing since its a well-known college

Admission:

Good Placement opportunities, especially in CSE,ECE and EEE. Well-established infrastructure with labs, libraries and research centres. Decent faculty. I didn't apply to any other college because i had to fine a college near me and NHCE was the best college within my options and i was going to get in no matter what. The overall admission process was very smooth , with clear instructions and communication.

Likes

Mainly the fests at right start of the college
The new social culture friends and networking
Subjects were taught easily and this campus is placed in heart of IT-parks all around it so finding internships should not be hard

Dislikes

The campus size is small and very compact and college bus policy was expensive
Staffs are very low in count at the first sem and it's not very co-ordinated with others
Labs and mess-halls are not in good condition and the management of this college is overall low

Admission:

This was the nearest and best engineering college from my home and mostly my seniors are studying here so technically didn't have a option and other colleges very asking hefty amounts to join their college and I was not able to afford those funds due to unforeseen family issues and the eligibility in this city (banglore) getting a college is but a good is therefore a task when the money games come to play for fees, hostel , etc.

Nhce the best affordable college

Likes

I like the environment where the college is surrounded with many IT Companies
And the infrastructure of college is also good as there are different blocks for different courses
Many clubs and events to take part in which is fun

Dislikes

There are totally 3 college canteens and one doesnt serve tasty food
Hostels are way too apart from their mess

Admission:

I had applied to many colleges which i thought i would get through my merit but i couldnt score well so i had to opt for management and this was the college i thought is best in my budget and has more of everything which other colleges have i dont really know the admission process because my parents had set this all up for me Cutoff for kcet is 20k rank and belowandee is through jee it is 95%ile
