DPGITM B.Tech Lateral Mechanical FAQs
Ques. What is the advantage of B.Tech Lateral Entry Mechanical over regular B.Tech at DPGITM?
Ans. B.Tech Lateral Entry allows diploma holders to directly join the 2nd year of B.Tech, saving one year of study and fees. The total fee for Lateral Entry Mechanical (Rs.3,60,000 for 6 semesters) is lower than regular B.Tech Mechanical (Rs.4,80,000 for 8 semesters). Lateral entry students get the same B.Tech degree, access to the same labs, faculty, and placement support as regular students.
Ques. What specialised training is available for Lateral Entry Mechanical students at DPGITM?
Ans. Lateral Entry Mechanical students have access to the same training as regular B.Tech Mechanical students. This includes CNC machining and EV training through the MoU with AMASS Skill Center, drone and robotics training through the MoU with Skyrider Institute, and access to the 3D printer and scanner for prototyping. Students can also participate in the Electric Vehicle fabrication project.
Ques. Is the B.Tech Lateral Entry Mechanical degree equivalent to a regular B.Tech degree?
Ans. Yes, the B.Tech degree awarded to Lateral Entry students is the same as that awarded to regular B.Tech students - both are B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from MDU Rohtak. There is no distinction on the degree certificate. The degree is recognised by AICTE, UGC, and all government and private employers.
Ques. What career opportunities are available after B.Tech Lateral Entry Mechanical from DPGITM?
