Life as a medical student

Likes

Vydehi has the best museum with accurate specimens. VASA is main attraction of Vydehi offering simulations for basic life support, trauma management, Advanced life support, laparoscopic surgeries, delivery and many more.
Central library of vydehi has great book collection for undergrads , PGs , competitive exams etc. It is well organised and we'll maintained
Security: My favourite of all is the security system of vydehi that make girls feel safe. No strangers are allowed without being checked and hostlers are not allowed to go out without permission

Dislikes

Hostel fee: Hostel fee in vydehi is a little expensive considering the facilities provided.
Students are not allowed to leave the college premises during lecture hours which can be troublesome when they have to leave due to emergency or when classes are not helpful
Uniform: Newly introduced inform in vydehi decreases respect for interns. Patients treat intern medical officers as nurses due to uniform.o

Admission:

I had applied to BMC, MS Ramaiah, KIMS, Bowring , Akash and Subbaiah. I didn't get into BMC, KIMS, MS Ramaiah and Bowring due to my NEET score. I didn't opt for Subbaiah since it was far from Bangalore and I had to stay in hostel if I went there. I didn't go to Akash because it was a new college back in 2020 with no passed out batches. Vydehi accepts NEET and admission is through KEA. If you have attained eligibility in NEET you can avail a seat in management quota too.

The way of teaching and there will be lot of practical classes taken you can get the best education
Nice and well maintained class rooms hospital labs etc
You can improve your language and speaking skills as there are students from different parts of the country

Dislikes

No sports to play no teams for any sport
There will be no cultural activities no freshers day no annual day nothing
You must follow strict discipline and I didn’t like the uniform of our course

Actually I studied the same course in OXFORD MEDICAL COLLEGE Bangalore for less than a year it didn't like it there so much so I decided to quit there. Then one of my father's friend suggested this college so we went there with his company and got us a admission there Admission process was simple they asked for a 1 lakh rupee donation to the college and we paid then asked for original certificates of 10 th and intermediate then prepared for the joining

Life at Vydehi institute of medical sciences

Likes

VASA simulation lab is the only major thing that is useful and even that they don't take us very often
The classes are completely AC so that is one more good thing
Teaching from some teachers are fine. And overall they do help during exams

Dislikes

The rules are almost nonsensical. Boys and girls are not supposed to speak, sit together and all that.
The college has a very strict dress code, with uniforms which are of very bad quality, clean shaven faces for boys, policing on even the length of uniforms for girls even though they provide it.
The security is very rude and will threaten with suspension over anything. Can't enter or exit the campus without it being a hassle.

I went through the Karnataka state counseling based on my neet score, which was 576 in 2022. I had an All india rank of 33000. I had applied for many other colleges and my score got me into vydehi with the cutoff. I had applied on the basis of ranking. Neet is the only accepted exam for the course and eligibility through neet is a must.

Academic pursuit, they have good faculty and they really concentrate on studies
Patient load is good but not much so u can learn few things
Infrastructure, ambience, vibe is also good

Dislikes

Senior , junior interaction is very less, but ok
We didn't have any fest or sports day but started now
Very strict if u join the hostel ,many rules

I tried to choose other top government colleges in Karnataka,but my rank was not upto the mark, it is one of the top private colleges, and since it is in Bangalore I thought it would be good for fun life and transportation etc

It has good infrastructure to facilitate learning
The cadaver to student ratio is at one per thirty
It is focused mainly on academics and NEET pg

Dislikes

It doesn’t provide any extracurriculars so those looking for pg out of country may not do well
Social life doesn’t flourish as much on campus since it’s more study oriented
We have a compulsory uniform that we must wear instead of just a dress code

Admission:

I chose this college for the simple reason that I did not want to live in a dorm. I wanted to live at home and commute to and from college. The college is also very close in distance to my home making it favorable.

The teaching methods and presentation of faculties is excellent .clinical postings improve our practical skills in hospital from 1st year onwards

Dislikes

College has very less holidays compared to other colleges
No cultural activities for allied health science courses
Too much strict for dresing hairstyle etc

The intrested persons can directly contact the college contact number where they will give you a appointment for admission process. I didn't felt any difficulty in getting admission. The students from Karnataka state can also come college through entrance exam where the students have less fees

A very good college if you want to excel in your studies and career

Likes

The college is well equipped with all facilities needed for a student to study well.
Lush green campus in the middle of the city is another attraction for students and staff.
The library is a highlight in the college.

Dislikes

Security is there at every nook and corner of the campus.
Only vegetarian food is available in the canteens.
Physiotherapy department is comparatively small when compared to other departments

Admission:

Admission process is very easy.Admission cell is active in the college at the time of admissions Eligibility of the course is a pass inScience stream in 12th with biology in it. All the application details are found in the college website, Filling of the application form will have to be done in offline mode. Tests are conducted frequently which makes the student aware about where he stands in the studies. 3 internal exams and 1 mock exam is conducted before the finals every year. Application process could be made online.

VIMS is a medical college so we get good exposure with the patients
Practicals are taken in a good way so that we understand
Teachers maintain a good relationship with the students

There are no events and functions held in the college
Many rules and regulations that makes us crazy

Admission:

I completed my12th and joined this course. The admission procedure was not so difficult. I didn't give any entrance exam. We can take admission directly from the college. The staffs in the admission office helps in the process
