Ques. What is the average package offered to the B.Tech graduates of VSSUT, Burla and CET, Bhubaneswar?

Ans. CET Bhubaneswar has recently released the placement details according to which a total of 649 job offers were made to 474 students. The highest package offered to graduates stood at INR 44.80 LPA whereas the average package stood at INR 5.85 LPA. The lowest package offered was INR 3 LPA. The Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering students bagged the highest number of offers during CET BBSR placements 2023. VSSUT Burla has not released this year's placement statistics yet so I will be mentioning last year’s for reference. During the placement drive, 773 students received 750 job offers. The company that offered the maximum job offers was GenC followed by Wipro (75) and Infosys (60). The highest package was recorded at INR 17.34 LPA while the VSSUT Burla average package stood at INR 6.05 LPA. Hope this helps you!Read more

Ans. VSSUT and CET are both autonomous universities. Here are some insights on pursuing B.Tech IT at these two- VSSUT is much older. This makes it a bigger brand. But in terms of location, CET is a clear winner. VSSUT is located in the small town of Burla. Burla has no direct air connectivity, and the fastest mode of transport is a 6 hour train journey from Bhubaneswar. Thus, top recruiters hesitate to visit the campus for placements. But the placement stats are good. The students miss out on competitive events and internship opportunities because of the distance from Bhubaneswar.  CET is the only government institute in Bhubaneswar other than IIIT. More recruiters visit its campus during placement season. Samsung, Dell and Toshiba are some of the top companies that visit the CET campus.  In terms of academics, VSSUT offers a flexible curriculum. This allows IT students to opt for a few advanced subjects. CET on the other hand, has a rigid course curriculum. As one of my friends studied B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya University, I might not be able to tell you much about biotechnology, but can provide a general overview of the institute. The university is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and is surrounded by a lush green environment.  The university gives an option of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) which is a very good system to bring out individual talents.  Also, you will get lots of free time which you can use for pursuing your interests and hobbies.  The infrastructure is also quite good and there are a few good professors who are highly experienced. Placements are also good. CSE students received good job roles. But the Biotechnology placements may differ.  If you choose to become a residential student, you will get even more time.  Categories B.Tech in Biotechnology at Karunya University Course Fee 7.24 lakh Placement Percentage 60% Highest CTC 17 LPA Average CTC 4.3 LPA Median CTC 3.5 LPA If you have the determination and the motivation with a clear goal, then you can succeed at any university and not just at Karunya University.Read more

Ans. One of my friends studied at Karunya University. According to him, all colleges have pros and cons and Karunya University was nothing different. Here are some things he mentioned about the college which might give you a clear idea. Pros of Karunya University include: It has a decent infrastructure It has around 80% placement rate Great atmosphere and environment as the campus is surrounded by mountains. The climate tends to be good and the place has scenic beauty. The hostels are better than the other colleges and they provide decent quality food. Few departments of Karunya University have good academic plans and syllabus. Good exposure to a diverse culture with international and interstate students. All the restrictions imposed will be only for the first year. Only for the B.Tech course students, the hostel services are compulsory. Rest of the students are allowed to stay outside the campus. Cons or Karunya University includes: It has a high fee structure Compulsory attendance is required for the morning assembly. The students who somehow failed to pay the fees are not allowed to sit in the exams. The placements of some departments are not so great for which the placement rate is 80% and not 100%. The faculty tends to deduct internal marks over unreasonable issues.  You can opt for Karunya University if you are interested.
