Ans. As one of my friends studied B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Karunya University, I might not be able to tell you much about biotechnology, but can provide a general overview of the institute. The university is located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and is surrounded by a lush green environment. The university gives an option of Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) which is a very good system to bring out individual talents. Also, you will get lots of free time which you can use for pursuing your interests and hobbies. The infrastructure is also quite good and there are a few good professors who are highly experienced. Placements are also good. CSE students received good job roles. But the Biotechnology placements may differ. If you choose to become a residential student, you will get even more time. Categories B.Tech in Biotechnology at Karunya University Course Fee 7.24 lakh Placement Percentage 60% Highest CTC 17 LPA Average CTC 4.3 LPA Median CTC 3.5 LPA If you have the determination and the motivation with a clear goal, then you can succeed at any university and not just at Karunya University.Read more

Ans. One of my friends studied at Karunya University. According to him, all colleges have pros and cons and Karunya University was nothing different. Here are some things he mentioned about the college which might give you a clear idea. Pros of Karunya University include: It has a decent infrastructure It has around 80% placement rate Great atmosphere and environment as the campus is surrounded by mountains. The climate tends to be good and the place has scenic beauty. The hostels are better than the other colleges and they provide decent quality food. Few departments of Karunya University have good academic plans and syllabus. Good exposure to a diverse culture with international and interstate students. All the restrictions imposed will be only for the first year. Only for the B.Tech course students, the hostel services are compulsory. Rest of the students are allowed to stay outside the campus. Cons or Karunya University includes: It has a high fee structure Compulsory attendance is required for the morning assembly. The students who somehow failed to pay the fees are not allowed to sit in the exams. The placements of some departments are not so great for which the placement rate is 80% and not 100%. The faculty tends to deduct internal marks over unreasonable issues. You can opt for Karunya University if you are interested. It has a decent infrastructure and is a residential college with high standards. Otherwise, you can also opt for any other college affiliated with Anna University.Read more

The Department of Aerospace was started in Karunya University with the primary objective to produce aerospace engineers for meeting the ever-growing demand for engineers for serving the sectors that are civil aeronautical and defense-oriented. At the same time, the department also aims to employ part of its staff in the expansion of space R&D as the demand for space applications in communication, strategic applications, remote sensing, etc is increasing. The technologists and entrepreneurs of Karunya University are in much demand by the aircraft design and manufacture as there is still a lack of a viable civilian aircraft and industry sector in the country. A large part of the business still goes out to foreign launch operations despite the presence of large communication satellites that are launched into synchronous orbits.
