Ans. None of the branches of Jain University offer good academics. The faculty base is average at best. The management of the university isn’t cooperative. The curriculum isn’t challenging. The learning process is mostly theoretical. You won’t get much practical exposure.  Usually, mass recruiters visit the campus placement. Ques. Is the B.Tech from Jain University Bangalore any good? What is its reputation in Bangalore?

Ans. A friend of mine who studies at Jain University says the faculty is decent but if you are mainly looking for placements, there is no guarantee. There are quite a few IT jobs available but since Bangalore is the Silicon City of the country, you will probably not get placements in core areas. From what information was shared with me, the hostel fees and tuition fees are also quite high. Plus, admission to the university is also given directly by filling up the application form or you can even give the COMEDK, KCET exam or contact the college directly. Infrastructure-wise, the college is definitely good with five-star facilities in your hostel rooms and Bangalore city to explore. But, you have to pay for almost everything. You will see a diverse crowd in the college including a few Africans too. However, you will probably not be able to gain industry-relevant skills that might help boost your career. Ans. The full-time 4 year BTech in Aerospace Engineering degree program at Jain University has a Grade ‘A’ NAAC accreditation and has been ranked at 117 by NIRF in 2020. The course is conducted under the scope of IIAEM. Course Structure : The curriculum is well-designed and spread across 8 semesters offering a good balance of theory and practical subjects. The last two semesters also require students to submit a practical project. Faculty : Most of the faculties are alumni members from IIT’S, NAL, ISRO, and ADA. The faculty are also known to help students with internships, and placements through their industry contacts. Infrastructure : For the aerospace department, the university offers multiple practical laboratories, experimental facilities- like the subsonic wind tunnel facility and research collaborations. Admissions : To be eligible for admissions students are required to qualify and clear the Jain Entrance Test (JET) conducted by the institution. The selection process is based on the ranking. Northcap is also ranked 151 out of 200 top universities by NIRF. Both universities have their unique set of pros and cons and an individual must research them thoroughly before choosing one. CSE is one of the most popular branches of engineering programs at both institutions. Admission: The admission process for BTech CSE at both SRM, Sonepat, and Northcap, Gurgaon is as follows. Ques. Is CSE good at SRM Sonepat?

Ans. SRM Sonepat is still in its developing phase. You won’t get your money’s worth there. There are only 3 B.Tech batches that have passed out. Most placement offers are either from the marketing sector or business analysts. Just 5% of the students get job offers in core sectors of their specific streams but with a very low package. The faculty is also not that good. You can get better teachers even in certain coaching institutes where your total expense can climb up to only 6-10k for a valuable cause. You can also get various other colleges at almost the same fees, such as HMR, LPU, AMITY, SHARDA, JAYEEE, SRM Chennai, VIT, and several others. They might charge you more than the average amount, but you will be provided better faculty and facilities. The study environment in SRM Sonepat is not good neither is the student crowd.  The Civil and Mechanical branches have acquired nearly zero placement (except only a handful of 2–3 students) for the past couple of years. The students who pass out are mostly offered jobs that are not related to their actual branch.  So, it will be better if you don’t keep SRM Sonepat as one of your options.Read more

Investment Outlook: MSIT can be considered better, in terms of investment, than SRM University. It is because the fees of SRM University are very high, alongside the various expenditures involved with it. This means, your costs will automatically double during the course of time pursuing your B.Tech. Placement Reports: In terms of placements, both the universities are equally exposed to the industrial side. Institute MSIT, Delhi SRM University Average CTC INR 4 LPA INR 10 LPA Highest CTC INR 55 LPA INR 41.6 LPA Top Recruiting Companies Google, Infosys, Microsoft IDC, Adobe, Accenture, TCS, MuSigma Google, Microsoft, Optum, Deloitte, Capgemini, Schneider Electric, IBM Campus Life: Speaking of campus life, both the institutes are good in their own way. SRM has a very preferable campus, while on the flip side, MSIT has an average one. Yet, MSIT is situated in a very high-spirited location, which gives it the advantage of having numerous places to explore. The choice, however, is yours.
