How Many Students Appeared for SRMJEEE 2026?
SRMIST does not officially publish phase-wise candidate statistics. Based on previous-year trends, more than 1.5 lakh candidates register for SRMJEEE across all three phases each year. Phase 1 attracts the largest pool since most serious aspirants prefer to appear early and secure their seat. Phase 2 sees a smaller number — many candidates already have a satisfactory rank from Phase 1. Phase 3 typically has the fewest candidates, which can result in a better rank for the same marks. The Phase 3 time window is also useful for candidates who want to appear after their Class 12 board results are declared.
SRMJEEE 2026 Counselling Process
SRMJEEE 2026 counselling is conducted online by SRMIST after each phase’s result. Phase 1 counselling is complete. Phase 2 counselling is expected to begin in the last week of June 2026. Counselling is how your rank gets converted into a confirmed B.Tech seat at an SRM campus.
Step-by-Step SRMJEEE 2026 Counselling Process

SRMJEEE 2026 Seat Allotment
Seat allotment in SRMJEEE 2026 is based on your All-India Rank, preference list, and seat availability at each campus. SRMIST runs multiple allotment rounds to fill all seats across campuses and branches.
- Candidates with a lower rank number (Rank 1 being the best) get priority in seat allotment across all campuses and branches
- You must pay the counselling fee by the given deadline after accepting a seat — missing the deadline means your allotted seat goes back to the pool and is given to the next candidate
- If you are not satisfied with the seat in Round 1, you can update your preference list and participate in Round 2 — your seat may be upgraded if a better option becomes available
- If you improved your rank in Phase 2 or Phase 3, SRMIST will use the best rank across all phases — you do not need to apply separately for each phase rank
- CSE and AI & ML seats at SRM Kattankulathur are allotted first and get exhausted quickly in Round 1 — candidates targeting these branches should have a clear and well-prioritized preference list ready before counselling opens

SRMJEEE 2026 Preparation Tips
SRMJEEE 2026 is a moderate-difficulty exam based entirely on Class 11 and Class 12 NCERT content. With a clear plan and consistent effort, you can score well and secure admission to your preferred SRM campus and branch. Here are the most effective strategies.
1. Start with NCERT Textbooks
Most SRMJEEE questions come directly from NCERT Class 11 and Class 12. Read every chapter in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (or Biology) carefully. Solve all NCERT examples and exercises before moving to any reference book. A strong NCERT base alone can get you a good score in SRMJEEE.
2. Focus on High-Weightage Topics
- Physics: Mechanics (Laws of Motion, Work-Energy-Power, Rotational Motion), Electrostatics, and Modern Physics carry the most questions. These topics also appear in JEE and other exams — so preparation overlaps well.
- Chemistry: Organic Chemistry is the most important section in SRMJEEE Chemistry. Focus on reaction mechanisms, named reactions, and reagent identification. Also study Electrochemistry and Coordination Compounds from Inorganic Chemistry.
- Mathematics: Calculus (Differentiation and Integration) and Coordinate Geometry (Straight Lines, Circles, Conics) are the most frequently asked topics. Matrices, Probability, and Vectors are also important.
- English & Aptitude: These 20 marks are often underestimated. Grammar, synonyms, antonyms, reading comprehension, and basic logical reasoning are straightforward in SRMJEEE. Regular practice of 15–20 minutes daily is enough to score well here.
3. Practice MCQs Every Day
SRMJEEE has only MCQs. Solve at least 30–40 MCQs per subject every day. This builds both speed and accuracy. After finishing NCERT, use books like DC Pandey for Physics MCQs, MS Chauhan for Organic Chemistry practice, and Arihant’s Objective Mathematics. These books align well with the SRMJEEE difficulty level without over-complicating your preparation.
4. Take Full-Length Mock Tests
Attempt at least two or three full-length SRMJEEE mock tests per week in the month before your exam phase. Each mock test should be 130 questions in 150 minutes, matching the real exam. After each test, analyse your mistakes and revisit those topics in the next study session. Mock tests train you to manage time under pressure and reduce exam-day anxiety significantly.
5. Attempt All Questions — No Negative Marking
Since SRMJEEE has no negative marking, attempt every single question. If you are unsure, eliminate the clearly wrong options first and then guess from the remaining choices. A 25–50% chance of a correct guess is always better than 0 marks for leaving a question blank. This strategy alone can add 5–10 marks for an average test-taker, which can improve your rank by thousands of positions.
6. Prepare Your System for Remote Proctoring
SRMJEEE is taken from home in remote proctored mode. Before the Phase 3 exam on July 4–5, 2026, check that your webcam is working, your internet speed is stable (minimum 5 Mbps recommended), and your browser meets the exam portal requirements. Do a full system test at least two days before your exam. Technical issues on exam day can reduce your available time and increase stress significantly.
