  • The course curriculum was quite easy for me. The course was a mix of both practical and theoretical but tends to be more practical. I have to submit only one assignment per week and the exam was open book. The positive part of this course is that it is more practical and was open book I don’t need to memorize all the equations and the negative part is that the exam was quite tough. The average number of students in my class was 20, and 2-3 of them are Indian students.

Fees

  • For my course, the tuition fees are CAD $12,400 per year, and on-campus housing is around CAD $15,000 with meals for an 8-month term, but I rented an apartment, which costs me around $600 per month.
  • The fees are charged per semester in my case.
  • The monthly expenses for rent, groceries, and other regular expenses are like $1000.
  • Transportation is free for university students.

The curriculum is not that relevant to the current industry's standards, but other opportunities are provided to get relevant industry exposure.

Fees

My fee is around 31k CAD per year which for the whole course would end up being 125k CAD.

The curriculum was partially based on advance subjects of structural engineering. However no industrial exposure was provided to aspirants to dig down into industrial challenges.

Fees

My fee was exceptionally high when I was offered the admission. It was 40,000 CAD with no stipend or scholarships.

The Course curriculum is too rigorous. The Assignments are too Difficult to solve.

I think the your experience in college is what you make of it. If you go in knowing exactly what you want to do with your career and use college as a means of getting there, then you may miss out on campus activities, meeting new people, networking, developing yourself, etc. it’s not a bad route to go because it gives you focus but there may be things that you may wish you would’ve taken the time out to experience while in college.

My course syllabus is very relatable, It also caters to students that would like to advance and also allows for slow progression according to one’s pace. The flexibility in course scheduling is one of my favorite parts of studying here. I’ve had a lot of research opportunities and exposure.

Fees

The total tuition fee for my degree is 120,000 plus miscellaneous fee.

The course workload is basically light, so aim high and try to challenge yourself! Also, the CS department is derived from the MATH department, so take more theory courses instead of systems/engineering courses. Overall, the department is shiny for its achievement in theory RL, not for computer systems or computer engineering.

It's a Canadian university with low tuition costs -- only about 25,000 CAD per year! Also, its admission rate is not as low as University of British Columbia and University of Toronto, but it has a strong CS department, particularly in Reinforcement Learning Theory.
