- I chose Norquest College primarily for its celebrated diversity and acclaimed support services. While my initial expectations were modest, the college has pleasantly surprised me. The professors have made a significant positive impression. Although my chosen course aligns with my previous studies without any distinctive features, I remain appreciative of the overall educational experience at NorQuest College.
- NorQuest College stands out distinctly from the typical narrative surrounding educational institutions in Canada. It places a strong emphasis not only on academic pursuits but also on the holistic well-being of its students. The college hosts various centers and volunteer programs to address a spectrum of needs.
- For instance, if a student is grappling with emotional challenges, the Centre for Growth and Harmony provides support. Likewise, there's a Career Centre for those seeking guidance on their professional path, a Peer Mentorship program for assistance, and a Student Navigator to aid with academic concerns. Regular networking events further enrich the student experience. Notably, the aspect I appreciate the most is the remarkable diversity within the college community.
Dislikes
- While there are no particular aspects of NorQuest College that I find unfavorable, it's worth noting that the college is situated in Edmonton, one of Canada's coldest cities. Navigating to the college during extreme temperatures, reaching as low as minus 40 degrees Celsius, can pose a considerable challenge.
Campus Life
Life at Norquest College is exceptionally fulfilling, and the campus infrastructure is impressive. There are numerous comfortable spaces like the cafeteria, couches on each floor, library, atrium, green areas, and more. We do have college wifi, bus pass. The college hosts a variety of engaging events regularly, making it vibrant and exciting for students. As a volunteer, I've witnessed firsthand the bustling schedule, including events like the Global Cafe, Open House, Jumpstart Sessions, Coffee with Carolyn, Welcome Party, Movie Night, and Fort Edmonton Park Day, all held in September 2023. Personally, Norquest has significantly boosted my confidence, enhanced my networking skills, and improved my communication abilities., I find immense happiness and confidence within the supportive environment of my college.
Accommodation
Honestly, accommodation in Edmonton is relatively affordable compared to larger cities like Vancouver and Toronto, despite recent increases in costs. Sharing living spaces is common among students, enabling comfortable living. While Edmonton may lack extensive sightseeing or bustling adventures, it's a good, affordable place to reside. On average, a two-bedroom apartment rents for around $1400.

- I chose Norquest because the mental health recovery practitioner course was only offered by them. They also had another exciting course, addictions recovery practitioner, unfortunately, I couldn’t get into it. It is really competitive as the seats are limited. I had heard a lot about Norquest in terms of education, professors and also economically it went well with me.
- My experience at Norquest College has been really amazing. I joined as Mental Health student in Jan 2020, it's a nice small college, the faculty is nice and warm, supportive as well in various ways.
- The classroom consisted about 25-30 students and education they provided was helpful and qualitative. I loved being there, as it was easy to navigate the college and reach out the professor in case you needed any help.
Dislikes
- The thing I dislike about the Norquest college was that when I wanted to do another program in same college, I couldn’t find many options, they were to limited and streamlined into a particular field.
Campus Life
Campus life was really good, the college was welcoming and warm. Had lot of students space to study and relax and good wifi. They also has student engagement programs and I volunteered there got some extra money from there. There is a big library including computer area and tutor help. There are no sport facilities and that’s a major negative setback but Edmonton has lots of recreation centers.
Accommodation
Norquest doesn’t have any Accommodation facility. But Edmonton is pretty big city with lots of Accommodation such as rental, PG and room sharing. P.s. it is lot cheaper than Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary etc.

- Flexibilty with courses and mode of learning (hyflex - inperson and online) where i can choose if I want to take 11 am class as I am not a morning person so its all in my hands if I want a 11 am one I can just double click and its all.
- Flexibility to choose courses, where I can make choices by myself on moodle (much convienent app by norquest) where I also get my assignments and tasks. Also the instructors at Norquest most of them are now my good friends, all of them really are the best mentors I have ever met.
- Norquest library is way too much better than any normal library where students can see different sections if you want to chill and talk there's gossip section and if you are reading a book and you want everyone to be quiet there's a quiet section as well. Moreover, at this college you can easily take help of international advisor who can provide you everything you need with your studies.
Dislikes
- Nothing too much. But there's not a lot of options with food like there's only subway and tim hortons making a limited choice for most of students who cant have the same thing everyday. Other thing is there's limited courses which you can study. Mostly colleges or university here offer a wide variety but Norquest isn't like that its focused on few courses only."
Campus Life
There's an student association (SANQC) which conducts games and wonderful events time to time. Also there's a floor where you can find video games to play . Tennis court too.
Accommodation
Its pretty expensive to live in the accommodation but the quality is uppermost the best.
Accommodation
Accommodation depends on what you are looking for. An average apartment room sharing will cost around $500-600 per month with all utilities included.
I applied to a couples college in Edmonton and Norquest was the first to respond and provide me with an offer letter.
Accommodation
I live with my parents so I don't have to pay for anything, I sill be living with them till I get married and I haven't faced any challenges yet. The only challenge is getting school as I don't drive to school but with the new lrt expansion it will make going to school very easy
Couldn't get into the RN program because it was way too competitive so I decided to start small and then do a bridge program to become an rn, I found out about this collage through a friend who was already going here before me, this was the only collage I applied too, my marks were good but not up to the competitive average for rn nursing
Program length it's a nice building smaller classrooms. You can get a job very easily. There is a lot of support when you enter the field and many times they provide extra training for you. So your skills can be top notch.
