  • Most students with IT experience in India will a get job here. College will arrange a job fair at end of the final semester and I don't know how many got placed. In my program, students can earn a minimum salary of $35k to $45k as a fresher. I would take around 6 months to 1 year to find a field job but it might take longer now due to the recession going on.
  • We can find jobs via LinkedIn, Indeed and also via referral. In my batch, lot of my friends continued their part time as full time and some worked as security and some worked as a tim hortons employee. Unlike in India, there's no such thing that major companies hire graduates. We have to find the job by ourselves. No company will hire a bunch of graduates from our college.

  • As I mentioned, I got my room from India. That family was from my state, so it was easy for me to pass the early stages. I just posted on the FB market page and they contacted me.
  • My monthly rent was $375 with all inclusive with high speed internet, laundry and kitchen, etc. There are scams going on. We should pay $50, just to see the room.
  • There are some facebook groups, we just post a ad regarding the rental, landlords will DM us. If we pay, they will just disappear. It was just a KM from my house and 5 min by bus.

I have just completed my program and looking for full time job opportunities.

Due to a gap of over 13 years, my options were limited, and among them, I found this program to be the most suitable though I was more keen on Saskatchewan Polytechnic. I got the offer letter after I paid the fees to Fleming College.

It's poor, you can't expect any job after this course unless you have any prior experience, as far as I know, all the placed students in past had some kind of network or referral that helped them get a job and not the course in itself.

I chose this college as it's easy to get admission into, also the location is a premium for good exposure. Overall it's a decent experience, as I can't expect any job after this, and also there is not much diversity in a classroom, almost 90% of students are from India which is a negative point.

Not much in research. It was quite disappointing. Placement opportunities were not there while doing the program except the co-op but I didn’t get a job for about 8 months.

SOP and CV, there were no interviews but only application form and my meeting the requirements of the program. It’s proximity to main city, the program length and the curriculum. I would say it was okay. Not that great but not bad either. It was hard to make friends with other cultures. It seemed bit off and didn’t find many friendly ppl except your own. It was hard to trust ppl as everyone was just after getting reference or help for jobs /money.

Placement is close to zero but if you are skilled enough, you will get a job in open market. Try applying from LinkedIn or get reference from faculties.

Sharing room are somewhere between 500 and 700 whereas private room starts from 700 and can go upto 1000 dollars.

I had no CO-OP options in my course as it was just one year program (2 semesters). I did some research in my course about a subject when I was working on a live project to determine its budget, schedule and credibility. It was fun though.

As I already mentioned, The campus life was full of creativity, enthusiasm and open mindset students. I learned a lot in campus activities like leadership, creativity and right execution of visualizations. Though I never had group of friends in the college as from the starting I am always independent and self learning person (no showoff), but I always enjoyed my company and learned a lot from experienced people and also I never had a second thought of connecting with different people and creating networks in college and on my jobs.

The college provides career fair and various career opportunities to students. And then it is up to us how we avail those opportunities.

The college is very helpful to students and address your concerns very well. My overall experience with a College was good.

Research opportunities at Fleming College are vast. In Peterborough city there are a lot of industries, i.e. many opportunities for our careers especially international students.

Well to start with I must say that when I first saw the campus infrastructure I was mesmerized. It has a huge campus which included two football grounds, sports and wellness centre and academic buildings. It also includes a large cafeteria and a pub called "Steele Center".

I got a field internship with the help of the faculty and later started job hunting while I was in my internship.

I chose this university because of the curriculum and they also provide 4 months field internship.
