University of Adelaide Rankings 2026

• With my background in Java backend, full-time IT positions such as software engineer or DevOps roles are abundant in Adelaide/SA following my Master of Computer Science.
• Within months, 88–89% of postgraduate IT graduates find full-time employment. beginning pay? CS positions here pay between 70 and 80k AUD.
• CareerHub events, LinkedIn/Seek portals, university employment fairs, and networking at tech meetings are some of the ways we get jobs. Even though they aren't usually encouraged, internships during school are beneficial. Overall, good results!

• I live in a shared apartment close to the North Terrace campus (Blair Athol area), which I located quickly and without the need for an agent using Facebook groups, StudyAdelaide Rental Database, and Gumtree. Rent for a room with three to four bedrooms is approximately AUD 800–1,200 per month, which includes WiFi, bills, and a furnished room, kitchen, and bathroom. The competitive Uni Village option is about AUD 1,400 all-in. Reasonably priced for students!

• Initially, when I came, I stayed with a distant relative, but you have platforms like flatmates & mostly people here use Facebook marketplace.
• 190*4=760 AUD per month, including internet, furnished room, and bills are calculated separately quarterly according to usage,  close to uni costs a very unreasonable amount, but in Adelaide, due to transportation problems, far away costs cheap, but takes time to travel.

• It is very hard to get jobs in finance after you graduate. It does not matter what your score was. Anyone with a bachelor's in finance will be preferred over you. They don't care much about your technical knowledge, as they know it's mostly repetitive work and it won't matter, as you can learn it by working. What matters more is if you are australian and have the right visa to work for them. Sponsorships are frowned upon.

• I lived in student accommodation called Y suites on Waymouth street. It was a horrible experience and if you can afford to go to the university of Adelaide, escape accommodation.
• I have only heard but all the reviews are pretty good. It is expensive, though, but it is very close to the university and Rundle mall which is the main Mall in australia. There are no challenges tho and you can easily get accommodation. My accommodation was around 2 kms away but there is a free tram inside the city.

• I'd be going out on a guess here, but I would say about 30-50% secure jobs within the first 6 months currently.
• Average salary for someone in my program can be around 70-100k per year
• Finding jobs after graduation would be online websites like Seek, Indeed, Graduate Programs, LinkedIn, and Networking Events
• A batchmate of mine worked part-time from the moment she started at an IT company, so she was fortunate to have been placed in a field of her study. Most other people are not working in IT related fields or are not working at all and have to apply for jobs through the portals mentioned before.
• Major companies would be RSM, Susquehanna Group (SIG), Optiver, PWC, Accenture, and Charmonix IT.

• I found my accommodation online. The UniLodge website and the booking were straightforward.
• When I first stayed, it was 290 for 6 months, then 250 for the next 1 year, then 280 for the next 1 year. This includes everything (water, electricity, and Wi-Fi).
• I was looking for accommodation below 300 per week and I filtered it according to the room types. There were Scape, Yugo, Suites, and UniLodge, and this was within my budget.
• For Future students, find a place within the city for 6 months, then you can see if you want to continue staying in the city (little more expensive) or sub-urbs (cheaper but further away)
• My accommodation is 1 km away from the university, in the city centre. So it's very easy access to anything for groceries, lots of restaurants, and public transport.

Depending on the degree, I have not taken any placements yet, but placements are not paid. Internships can be paid, but students have to get them themselves.

I chose the college because of its location and already studied at the University of South Australia. It's going okay so far. I have been studying part-time but will soon study full-time.

There is no such term as placement Company don't come to university for conducting placements. University has a career portal where people can apply. It may be hard for international students to get job through this. Most of them prefer applying through portals like Linkedin, Indeed or seek.

The experience was good. I got to learn a lot about Machine Learning. I met with some amazing people, had group tasks and improved a lot on some social skills. The assignments are challenging and it may take lot of time but will surely enhance your confidence on a particular topic. In case of any doubts, there are people sitting to clear your doubts in university. In addition to that there are workshops where you will have to test your code and professor will review and check your understanding. I mostly learned how you can take ownership of your own content and how to connect with people and ask for their help.

Placement opportunities do not work the way they do in India. In our university, its more about the students engaging with recruiters that arrive through job fairs and finding their own opportunities.

Affordability, future prospects, expected quality of study program.

As it is a masters program we do not have any on campus placement. We do have career fair to represent ourselves and grab an opportunity.

There are plenty of rationales why I decided to choose the University of Adelaide. The University of Adelaide is ranked 106 in the 2021 QS World University Rankings. With over 140 years of educational experience and recognized as a leading research university globally, The University of Adelaide provides one of the most delicate course structures for Masters of Computer Science. This well-adjusted degree structure is one of the main reasons I have chosen to study at The University of Adelaide even though I have offer letters from The University of Sydney and The University of Queensland. One of the other reasons I decided to study in Adelaide is the cost of living. The living expenditures in Adelaide is less compared to that of Sydney and Brisbane. One last reason to sum up my decisiveness to study at the University of Adelaide is that the University has awarded me with the 30% Global Citizens Scholarship, which not only provides a 30% reduction of the tuition fee for the standard full-time duration but also stands as a testimony of my hard work. I would definitely want it to stand as part of my identity in the future.

The opportunities provided by my University are pretty good. The professors help us get internships and help us connect with industries as much as possible. I also personally attend many events so that I build networks and it is really easy to get a job then in later stage of college.

The University of Adelaide is great. I can't explain it in words. When I was in India I was not meant to be so free and personally experience each and everything apart from studies as well and to lead a life individually. So the campus life is really good. The university provides a lot of opportunities for growth and there are many clubs for different activities, career building activities to build our resume, cover letter and how to get the networking and professional life built. They do conduct a lot of workshops too related to how to motivate yourself. So a lot of fun activities are going on and Orientation week is the perfect opportunity because every student has to go and visit the campus where all the fun activities are going on and stalls are set up to promote the events.

Never had an experience with this as it was not a compulsory thing to do for my course. Some of my friends experienced this though!

I received a scholarship for it and it was also an opportunity to experience a new environment for which I was keen to do.
