My take on University of Adelaide (before the merge with University of South Australia)

I applied to the following universities: Australian National University - accepted - Confirmed admission University of New South Wales – accepted - Confirmed admission + Scholarships Monash University – accepted - Confirmed admission + Scholarships University of South Australia - accepted - Confirmed admission + Scholarships University of Sydney - accepted - Confirmed admission + Scholarships I chose this university because they had the same curriculum as the top universities in the world of finance. the steps were pretty straightforward, which were giving IELTS and securing enough to be eligible. You need a 6+ score in all 4 formats. Then there was the Statement of Purpose and all the generic stuff. Nothing was too hard. Make sure you get scanned copies of all your documents. February 2024. I finished my undergrad in 2022 and got some experience before I went for my master's. The whole process took 2 months. My application started in november and I had my offer letter by december. For Australia, I applied to a total of 6 universities University of Adelaide -> Admitted University of Technology, Sydney -> Shortlisted & Confirmed Admissions Australian National University -> Shortlisted  & Confirmed Admissions Melbourne University -> Rejected (Profile not good enough) RMIT -> Shortlisted  & Confirmed Admissions UNSW -> Admitted I wanted to choose the University of Adelaide because it is in a regional territory, and this would give me an extension on my visa. I also had friends and some people I knew there. I also got a scholarship which helped reduce the overall tuition fees. Admission process was straightforward. It was handled by IDP, and I just had to provide my documents. IELTS score of 6.5 overall with a minimum of 6 on all bands. Accepted exams are IELTS, PTE, and TOEFL. Overall, the admission experience was good. No highlights to share. Semester 2, 2023 (July) intake. No factor as such; that was the earliest I could apply after my resignation from work Admission process took about a month. I handed all my documents to IDP and they took care of everything. I got the offer with the scholarship a month later and I accepted it. There is no detailed timeline for this, as once the documents were handed over, nothing else was required. The experience was good. I got to learn a lot about Machine Learning. I met with some amazing people, had group tasks and improved a lot on some social skills. The assignments are challenging and it may take lot of time but will surely enhance your confidence on a particular topic. In case of any doubts, there are people sitting to clear your doubts in university. In addition to that there are workshops where you will have to test your code and professor will review and check your understanding. The University of Adelaide is great. I can't explain it in words. When I was in India I was not meant to be so free and personally experience each and everything apart from studies as well and to lead a life individually. So the campus life is really good. The university provides a lot of opportunities for growth and there are many clubs for different activities, career building activities to build our resume, cover letter and how to get the networking and professional life built. They do conduct a lot of workshops too related to how to motivate yourself. So a lot of fun activities are going on and Orientation week is the perfect opportunity because every student has to go and visit the campus where all the fun activities are going on and stalls are set up to promote the events....Read More
