Number of Attempts in NMAT 2026

You can attempt NMAT 2026 up to 3 times within a single testing window — one original attempt and two retakes. No-shows are counted as attempts, so registering for a slot and not appearing will reduce your remaining attempt count for that testing year.

Each retake requires a separate registration and payment of a retake fee through the official NMAT portal. Retake slots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability at test centres.
