• Given the current job market, people are not getting a job after graduating; it's really difficult but still, what i heard 30-40% of people are securing a job after graduating.
• $100-150k is the average salary of the people; it can be lower given the situation or even higher if you target FAANGs.
• Getting an internship after your first year is the best way possible, but if you can't make it, apply on job portals like LinkedIn, jobright, indeed and network with people. cold email recruiters and keep doing it on a daily basis; keep applying and keep networking. It's a numbers game. People are not even getting interview calls right now; the market is too bad i am suggesting not to come right now. Job market is bad and visa restrictions are making it worse.

• I networked with people from stony brook and got to know that on-campus housing is the best because of its own perks, but they vary from university to university. So talk to people who are already staying there.
• On-campus housing is difficult to get, as many people are in line to get it; it's on first come first serve basis so you need to be quick in decision-making.

• 80–90% of the batch secures a job within 6 months due to the connections and networking that stonybrook allows them to. It depends on course to course but for CS and DS it is around $85000. Students find jobs through networking and job platforms like LinkedIn and Handshake, Glassdoor & indeed is also used for reaching out to recruiters. Highest can be around $250000; lowest can be around $50000.

• Stony Brook University provides on-campus housing through their college portal, which is easy to use and easy to access. The accommodation process is very competitive, as huge numbers of students try to compete in the applicant pool. One recommendation would be to go for rooms that are 3 BHK or 2 BHK, as they are the cheapest here.

Stony brook has excellent alumni placed in top notch companies. So placements wise network is a strength for stony. Research interested students can pursue thesis program.

Nice campus with all facilities and good course work laod. Eventful with students living in the same place. Accomodation is slightly expensive but a lot helpful.

I dont know. I dont really have much details on it, because iI was looking for business opportunities in India.

I really had a good time. It was really worth it and I dont regret transferring from university of vermont to stony brook university. Made more friends, did better academically because of the resources. Overall no complaints.

Placements should be Off campus depends on the students, It really depends on the job market, previously 3 to 4 years back students over here usually had 2 to 3 intern opportunities but now it's really bad because of obvious reasons but even then if the student actively applies and has a good profile he will get an intern or job

I would say it's good for the most part of it but that comes from a person who doesn't have any homesick and loves being here. One thing that's worrying is being without any job offer that will always be in the back of the head and haunts me. Leaving that everything else is good. There are some limitations but most part I got so many things to do I don't even get the time to try new stuff.

There is no official data regarding it but big names like Yahoo and HPE have visited the campus. Anyways in US, the placement system is different as compared to India. There are no on-campus placements and there are job fairs where you can try talking to company executives.

My university experience has been incredibly rewarding so far. I've been exposed to new and exciting knowledge, thanks to supportive professors and a well-rounded curriculum, and I've had the chance to meet a diverse group of people, which has expanded my horizons and enhanced my personal growth.

For the Computer Science branch, opportunities are very good in terms of placements with Amazon being the mass recruiter. In addition to that, people wishing to pursue Ph.D. also have a lot of opportunities. They get to work on industry projects.

Huge campus, the fact that it's a state university, lower tuition fees, the flexibility of selection of subjects for graduating, project/thesis option, the fact that everybody completes their masters in 1.5 years instead of 2 years, good placements with amazon being the mass recruiter, good quality research, good reputation, lower living expenses, lower rent for on-campus housing, many facilities, free university transportation, etc.

Due to covid, everyone was struggling to get internships/Full-time placements. Situations are improving at the moment. But SBU in general used to have most of their student finding internships and full-time jobs. The last year or so has been harsh on the students and companies started rescinding the offers because of the economic downfall from Covid.

Stony Brook was among the top 40 schools for computer science and one of the most economical schools as well. They are really famous for their systems-related courses as well as cutting-edge technologies like Data Science, Computer Vision and Machine Learning.

The university is known for high-paying software engineering jobs in the USA. The University has an extensive alumni network who work at top tech firms and therefore a lot of seniors are available to provide guidance on how to crack interviews.

Good ranking for Computer Vision and Excellent campus facilities. Low cost and therefore high return on investments. Great placement opportunities for jobs and internships.
