  • My college has one main campus area located at 5500 Campanile Drive.
  • All facilities like cafes, restaurants, sports, gyms, gaming rooms, turf, stadiums, auditoriums, and much more are available.
  • SDSU celebrates all festivals in the USA with lots of decorations and free food. They also celebrate Indian cultural events on campus.
  • All sports are included on campus with dedicated clubs that students can join and practice accordingly.

  • We used Google Maps to find nearby renting apartments near campus and directly applied via referrals from seniors we connected with on LinkedIn. I would be happy to help my juniors find one.
  • The monthly rent is $2930 with all facilities like a pool, garden, open area, parking, etc.
  • Finding accommodation was not a challenge for me.
  • Diplomat Apartments, Dorchester Apartments, and Penthouse Apartments.
  • My apartment is around 1 mile away from the main campus.

  • SDSU has 3 campuses:
  • Main campus : 5500 Campanile Dr, San Diego, CA 92182,
  • Imperial Valley campus : 720 Heber Ave, Calexico, CA 92231 and,
  • San Diego State University, Georgia: PP6X+R9M, Tbilisi, Georgia
  • I was on the main campus, which has a library, a student health clinic that offers a range of medical services for students, an open auditorium, an indoor basketball court, an open football field, futsal pitches, a gym, temperature-regulated swimming pools and an indoor sports centre.
  • Our college participates in major sports leagues at the college level in football, basketball, volleyball and also hosts concerts of various musical artists. Aztec Nights is a major festival at the start of each year.

  • I found my accommodation through Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram groups. Initial search for incoming students in the same situation as me was difficult. Searching in college groups is the first step to getting more connections for accommodation searches and teaming up with other students in the same boat as us.
  • I found a group that had finalised on renting a 3-bedroom townhouse 5 minutes walking distance from SDSU and we shared it among 6 people. Our rent was $3300, which got divided up into $550 per person + $50 utilities.

  • The San Diego campus and the Imperial Valley campus together comprise the main two Campuses of SDSU. However, for remote learning, SDSU has its extended arm-the Online Global campus-that many students may prefer for some flexibility. SDSU has a plethora of Amenities that enricher student life. With tons of resources, guided study spaces, and support For researchers, the library serves as a great facility for study work.
  • The sports facility is one of The most beautiful features of this campus, which includes fitness programs, gym, and courts Chat keep students active and healthy. Other on-campus medical services offer health Consultations, emergency care, and wellness programs to promote physical and mental well-Being.
  • Also characteristic of campus life is the vibrant scene of SDSU that promotes big festivalsand campus-wide events that pull students together. Various cultural holidays and international celebrations are honored on campus, thus providing an opportunity for everyone to meet the lifestyle of other traditions.
  • Other bigger events include annual cultural festivals, career fairs, and community-building activities, fun and engaging. Plenty of different groups may register for student clubs and organizations, depending on the cultural aspect of students and ; interests, ongoing social initiatives, and hobbies.
  • Another important aspect of student life is extracurricular activities that are a core part of SDSU. Sports lovers have loads of opportunities to join intramural and varsity teams for basketball, soccer, swimming, and athletics. Set against this backdrop of cultural activities, music concerts, dance competitions, and art exhibitions are organized, giving students platforms to showcase their talents.

  • Using online groups from my consultancy and approaching seniors for help resulted in solid options for living spaces.I paid $2800 a month for a 2BHK apartment. The apartment is furnished with facilities such as a swimming pool, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, gas stove, oven, and storage space. The challenge was there weren't many Indian students, so it was hard for me to find accommodation.
  • However, after some time and effort, I got to a good place.
  • Tips for Future Students: I would encourage contacting seniors on LinkedIn; theyoffer great advice and help with a good place to stay.
  • The distance from campus is maybe about 1 mile, so it's very easy and convenient tocommute. Most Indian students prefer staying in Penthouse, Dorchester, and Diplomat apartments. They are about 1 mile from the college and offer a comfortable, student-
    friendly environment.

  • Our university has 2 campuses: one is the main campus, and the second is the Imperial Valley campus. I have never been to the Imperial Valley campus.
  • The university has 24*7 library, Swimming pool, 3 Big Grounds for Football cricket, etc., 2 gyms, and other activities like badminton, pickleball, basketball, wall climbing, etc.
  • There are concerts of famous singers. Last year, Taylor Swift came to SDSU Viejas Arena to perform every week some celebrity comes to play concerts; these are generally paid. The free events are also there but only at the beginning of the semester in the first month, in which students could make new friends and explore campus too.

  • I live in Dorchester Apartments (1.2 miles away from campus). The seniors are super helpful; they helped us get accommodation.
  • For a 2B2B, the rent is around $2700-3000 depending upon apartment size.
  • The main challenge was a guarantor, who should be living and earning in the USA. So if you have any relatives in the USA, that would be great or one of your roommates should have a guarantor in the USA.
  • Incoming students can ping any seniors on LinkedIn; they will help with accommodation at off-campus apartments.
  • Generally, Indian students live in Dorchester, Penthouses, or Diplomat Apartments. These are opposite each other and about 1.2 miles from the university.

I would highly rate research opportunities at SDSU, especially in engineering department. There were some very strong collaboration with University of Washington Seattle and MIT in our MEMS lab and gave a chance to form very strong research opportunities.

Dorm rooms are very expensive. Reasonably priced apartments available around a mile from campus.

Close to silicon Valley, course structure flexible and adaptable.

The first 2 years you are required to live on campus in dorms or apartments. First-year students receive meal plans and gym memberships. I chose to live off-campus because I did community college in my first 2 years. However, the on-campus housing I've been in is outdated and small.

San Diego had always been a dream city for me. It's metropolitan but also has chill areas like the beach. It's a state school so as a California resident it was an affordable choice. The college campus is a moderate size and has beautiful architecture. The area the college is in feels like it's own community.

I live and work at an off-campus residence. It's nice because you are not affiliated with the school and more often than not because of that the prices are a lot lower. I love working off-campus but sometimes it's hard for them to understand that we are students.

I decided to opt for this particular college because they were giving me the most financial assistance compared to some of the other universities that I got into. It's also a great school in a great location.

I own my own home so I cannot say much about living on campus or in a hostel. The school representatives are very helpful with questions like this. I do suggest finding roommates that you can trust. The area immediately around the college is a little rough so if you can commute that would be even better.

Great professors and advisors. I had a previous education experience with them and know their value. I also love that service Learning is a major part of the program. They encourage us to be politically active in our practice.
