- Location: I love how the university is located in the center and integrated into the city, giving us a feel of home wherever we go.
- Structured curriculum: All the courses here at Pitt are brilliantly structured based on the various industry requirements post-graduation.
- Student-Faculty ratio: All of us here have access to all the professors and additional industry experts who help mentor us throughout the process.
Dislikes
- Tuition cost: Even though Pitt offers great scholarships, the tuition fees are on the higher side especially for international students compared it to other public universities.
- Limited diversity: Some programs here at Pitt have less diversity of people. For example: my cohort has only one international student that is me.
- High cost of housing: Since the university is located in the city, the cost of housing is pretty high.
Placement
- 85% of students who graduate secure employment within 6 months of completing the course.
- Students can expect to earn 45-50 dollars per hour after graduation. Career fairs are available every semester for students to find their match.
- Networking is huge here and plays a crucial role in landing a job. Most of my seniors have been placed at UPMC, AHN, Highmark etc.
UPMC and Highmark hire largely in my field.
- Masters students go for off-campus housing. I had a family friend of mine who stays here who helped me out with the housing.
- The monthly rent for my house is $1,000 plus $200 for utilities. The house is unfurnished but the kitchen is furnished.
- Luckily I did not face any issues. The house is located about 1 mile from the campus which takes me about 15-20 mins by walk. Most of the Indian students stay in walking distance to campus.

- Courses Offered in CompSci and Information Science.
- PCHE cross-registration program allows students from University of Pittsburgh to enroll into other universities in the PCHE like CMU.

Dislikes
- Expensive Tuition Fees.
- Challenging Climatic Conditions.
- Networking opportunities are limited.
Placement
- Almost 80% of your graduating batch secures employment within 6 months of completing their course. The average salary range that most students in your program can expect to earn upon graduation depends on several factors and is hard to guage. Students usually find jobs after graduation by applying on their own using online job boards.
- There are no campus recruitments or internships. There will be career fairs.
- The placement experience in the current job market is difficult and we all just thrive to seek any job suitable for our qualifications. All major companies have hired graduates from my program in the past.
- I have opted for off-campus. I found friends who also got accepted into the University of Pittsburgh through discord and whatsapp. I looked for accommodation with my friend in apartment.com or zillow. I also took help from seniors in Pittsburgh to verify the accomodation.
- Finding a good accomodation was really challenging, there are aspects you would want to consider like heating, rent, neighborhood, utilities.
- Finding a reasonable accomodation closer to campus was challenging.Consider giving importance to good heating in the house; make sure heating is included in your rent and don't have to pay extremely high electric bills. It is also good to stay closer to the campus.

Placement
University provides plenty if job fairs. It is an opportunity to talk to people and build network. Though the university itself dont guarantee placements, it is upto the individual how well he/she takes advantage of these job fairs to communicate and network with people. Ultimately everyone lands a job, it demands on the individual's capabilities how easy or hard is for them to land a job. Internships are very important. If you get an internship, consider you have a full time job eventually.
Top rated public university in the country. Frequent career fairs (job fairs). Ample on-campus job opportunities. Affordable city for living (rent is cheaper). Free public transportation for students.
Placement
it's a great location for the campus since it is in the city, has good resources for new grad students who start school here. More variety of courses could be offered soon, but at the moment there are only so many that one can choose from. Career prospects are good but highly depend on the student's networking skills and presentation/profile. People are friendly and helpful
I was interested in Natural Language Processing and there is some good research done in this university
The location was near home and in a good place. The school name is world renowned. I knew there were a lot of alumni, especially in my field. Overall seemed like a good choice for undergraduates studies.
Placement
The career development office and university staff put on tons of career fairs and networking opportunities for students looking for jobs. There are also many jobs on campus or in the general area for students working while in school.
I was looking for a medium-sized school in the Midwest or east coast, as well as an accessible urban campus where I would be able to do things outside of the school. Pitt checked all the boxes and I fell in love with the campus when I visited for the first time.
