Campus Life

  • There will be events going on across the campus every day. You just have to make time for them; most of them are sponsored, so you will receive free food and some goodies like pens, caps, T-shirts, bags, etc.
  • We have almost all the facilities needed, like an athletic center, Library, Gym, Swimming pool, and community groups. We also celebrate festivals on campus like Diwali, Garba, and Holi.

  • I opted for Off campus accommodation using leasing websites. I have a group of 4 people. So, it cost around $450 per head in sharing. However, there are cheaper options.
  • For future students, look for apartments like Southgate Garden, Lehigh, Thorn or any townhouses using the Zillow website. Make sure the accommodation has a UD Shuttle bus facility, which helps you commute within the university.

  • My college has three campuses: north campus, south campus and main campus.
  • The college has a library and a sports facility that includes a stadium, gym and courts to play various sports and swim. It also includes medical services facilities. I am not sure about specific campus festivals.
  • There is the Diwali and Holi party that I look forward to and International coffee hour every week.
  • There are also occasional events by the Indian Graduate Student Association that I attend. There are also football matches that people follow here very often.

  • I found the Indian Graduate Student Association WhatsApp group through someone I met on the platform reddit, from a person who was also going to attend Udel. From the group WhatsApp group, I messaged and spoke to people to help find roommates. Among roommates, I discussed the various accommodation options.

  • The monthly rent is $1650 for 2 BHK, 1 BA. This includes a washing machine, dryer and oven. My accommodation is 1.4 miles from campus.

  • Most Indian students stay off-campus, like I do. They stay in the same accommodation as I do.

  • My recommendation for future students seeking accommodation is that they please stay as close to campus as possible. It does matter a lot in terms of commute and utilizing opportunities on campus.

  • Our campus organizes a lot of events for the students.
  • Campus is distributed all over the city, not just one place. We have free bus facilities for the students in the regions where campus is covered.
  • We have numerous sports clubs and intramurals are conducted over twice in a semester. We have a competitive gaming club and students can interact with others and play console games.
  • College conducts different informational events and webinars, along with the food and drinks.

  • I find my accommodation by talking to the seniors. I messaged in the groups and collected information from them.
  • There is a site called apartments.com , in this site we can find the available housing in the locality.
  • The monthly rent is around 1800, and all the basic amenities are included in that.
  • The challenges are finalizing house from India itself, without seeing the place by myself.
  • My accommodation is 3 miles from the campus

I have lived in Delaware my whole life and love it here! I love the master's speech pathology program at the University of Delaware too, you start working with clients two weeks into the program and they value experience over classroom learning.

Wide range of academic programs and a fantastic marching band. It was important to be able to keep music in my life as well as academics! I was even able to minor in piano while studying neuroscience.

I chose the university of Delaware due to the close location to home (3 hours) and the campus environment. I really liked how it had a college feel but also didn?t feel isolated from the world like some other colleges felt.
