My Vibes at University of Delaware

I have applied to 4 universities as follows: Received admission from the University of Delaware and joined. Received admission from eastern Illinois university and didn't join, as it is Expensive. Illinois Tech University - Admitted - Didn't join, as I felt Delaware is the better option Columbia University – Rejected – May be due to less Toefl Score. I have multiple reasons to choose this university: It's affordable to me. I also found a few people joining the same university so I will not have a problem moving forward. This is a GRE Waived University. So, I don't have to write the exam for the GRE. Application fee was waived, as I was given a waiver code. Admission Process: I applied through the online website and uploaded my transcripts (no need to mail them) and other documents. Scores for Toefl or Ielts are dependent on the department. My department needs at least 100 for Toefl and 7.5 for Ielts. Admission process is smooth, and the university provided clear guidelines from filling the applications to signing up for classes. I applied to the 2023 February Intake. I felt this university is appropriate in my case in terms of expenses and having people from the same university around me. I started the application process in August 2022 and the TOEFL exam in August 2022. I received admission from the university in September 2022. I applied for the following universities: University of Delaware (Admitted), Northeastern University (Rejected), Stevens Institute of Technology (Rejected) Syracuse University (Rejected). I applied very late in mid-April. Also, I had a poor GPA from my undergraduate. But, decent work experience and projects. I was unsure if I would get into any US college with my low GPA and mediocre GRE scores. So I thought of applying after retaking the GRE and then applying later. But I changed my mind and decided to give it a shot in March and April. I listed decent universities that had the following: 1) Flexible ECE Program 2) Had professors who worked on my research interests 3) Decent reputation, if not great. 4) Had no minimum GPA criteria Admission Process was standard: SOP, 2 LORs, GRE and TOEFL. I received an admit 1 month later in May, confirmed my admission and got my VISA in the following months. I don't think there were minimum scores as such by my university. I had a 318 in my GRE and 100 in TOEFL. But I had a poor GPA in my undergraduate studies, less than 7. But I had relevant work experience and had spent time contributing to open source projects and been working on personal projects. I applied for Fall intake in April 2023. It was a last-minute decision I had made around the end of March to the beginning of April.  Applied to-   1) Arizona State University - Accepted, 2) State University of New York, Buffalo - Accepted,3) University of Michigan - Accepted,4) University of Delaware - Admitted Rejected by-1) Oregon state University - Rejected The program at Oregon state university is highly competitive and Research oriented and needs a high GPA which I did not have, That's why I think I was rejected The major factor was fees, since the fees of University of Delaware is significantly lower than other universitites and because of RPNG lab aswell. The admission process was similar to other universities which required 3 LORs, 1 SOP, and IELTS or TOFEL score and answer to few questions about leadership quality and academic excellence. There is not GPA and GRE minimum score requirement, For IELTS the score needs to be more than 7 in all sections The admission process was smooth because of early bird application and early decision I applied for Fall 2024 intake, Factors like research outcome, curriculum relevance and cost of attendance were the important points to consider for me. I applied in the month of December and received an admit on 25th of January. The admissions are on rolling basis so there are no deadlines.
