  • The difficulty level of courses are medium. A lot of focus is on practical learning and assignments and for the theoretical part generally you will be allowed a cheat sheet or you will have an open book exam so that there will be no need for mugging up.
  • The course would be very helpful in developing skills to get job later the only negative aspect is that

Fees

  • For each semester it will be either 9500 or around 10,200 depending on semester. The difference is just because spring semester is bit longer so health insurance it bit higher than. This is assuming you are taking 9 credits per semester. However, if your course is management related you will have to pay around 13000.
  • Fees has to be paid semester wise before starting of semester but you will have 2 more options, one is can pay in 4 installments with each installment in one month by paying additional 25 dollars and other option is deferment plan where you will pay entire fees at end of semester with extra 150 dollars.

  • There are many WhatsApp groups for master's students where people post the availability of accommodation. Even I got one through such a WhatsApp group. There are many challenges faced. The most common one is the roommates that you get. You have to be very careful since you have to live with them every day; make sure you do proper research. My recommendation would be to learn cooking before you come here since food is a very big part of life here and outside food is very expensive.

  • I would describe the difficulty level of my course curriculum as medium. It was a mix of both theoretical and practical, there are various courses to take on.
  • The positive aspects is that you get a strong foundation in Chemical engineering while learning these courses, you will get your fundamentals brushed up. I don't see any negative aspects to it.
  • Generally we had 3 classes in a day for 2 days in a week for the 1st semester, after that you take less courses as you need to take research credits too as you join a research group. Timings of the class vary from semester to semester,  starting from morning 8 to evening 5:30.
  • Average number of students in class is around 25.
  • Around 6-8 Indian students are there in my batch.

Fees

  • Phd courses do not require any fees, they come with scholarships. You will get a monthly stipend. For the first 6 months, it's a teaching assistantship, followed by research assistantship.
  • Fees are charges credit wise for masters students. For PhD, there are some one time fees to be paid, including the health insurance
  • My monthly expenses are generally around 1000-1200$.
  • Rent: Around 700$
  • Transportation by own car: around 300$
  • If you don't have a own car, public transportation is free for the students here at UH.

  • The difficulty level is a bit medium but they teach you very well. If you listen to the class properly, ask doubts and clarify at that time. then there won't be any difficulty.
  • I didn't feel any negativity towards the course, and there are 1.2 classes a day and 6 classes a week and trying for assistantships is a bit difficult to get those positions. I personally admire Katarina Mam, as her teaching is very efficient and helpful to understand.

Fees

  • Their fee is around $40k for the complete course (estimated average).
  • COSTS FOR: 9 MONTHS: Tuition and Fees $ 24,069, and there is some insurance fee too and for books and other stuff it is charged semester-wise and credit-based.
  • For me, the monthly expenses are around $1k. If we restrict in some aspects in the expenditure of money, then only 700 to 800$ is enough for one month.

  • Through WhatsApp groups, I found people posting that they're looking for some more people so that they could sign a lease on.
  • And the lease agreement was signed online. The process went easily as some of my roommates are already living here.
  • But otherwise, you'll definitely need someone to lead you through all of the steps.

  • The course curriculum is not very rigorous I would say, the only thing is we need to adapt to the new learning culture at the US where you have to give continuous quizzes and complete assignments.

  • The course structure totally depends on the professor where he/she can take exams or give only projects and assignments.

  • But yes the courses here are more application based where you have to continuously do and learn new things

Fees

  • Each semester, the fee for graduate studies at ranges from $10,000 to $13,000, depending on the course of study and specific program requirements. This cost encompasses a variety of essential items beyond just tuition, providing a package that supports both educational and personal well-being on campus.
  • Tuition Fees: Tuition is the primary component of the semester fees, covering the cost of academic instruction, access to faculty, course materials
  • Medical Insurance: Health insurance is another significant inclusion within the semester fee. Many universities, especially for international students, mandate health insurance as a prerequisite
  • Additional Amenities: The semester fee also typically includes access to campus facilities, such as recreation centers, counseling services, and wellness programs

  • It is a mix of both. I would give 7 on a scale of 10.
  • Positive: case study and mentors during project work.
  • Negative: tight deadlines for assignments.
  • 1 class per day. 3 hours, either in the noon or evening.
  • 25-30 is the average number of students in my class.
  • 10-15 Indian students are enrolled in my course.

Fees

  • $50,000 is the tuition fee (it differs for every course) and hostel fee is between $600 and $700 per month. Meal plan is available for 6 months and 1 year which comes around $2600
  • There are three types of methods one can opt. Full-payment in the beginning, or we can split into 4 and pay monthly, or opt deferment plan with interest after 90 days.
  • Rent - $650 to $750 per room per month
  • Transportation - $100 per month if we use public transport often and cab rarely.
  • Food & Groceries - $300-$400 if we cook at home.

The course is competitive to say the least. It is rigorous and one has to be dedicated to finish it. It is comprehensive for those who don't come from design background. The positive aspect is that the college has ties with a solid research faculty. There are 2-3 classes per day. Timings vary.
My class was the first one after COVID, it was only two students. I was the only Indian. The ratio is 4-1, it greatly affects the quality of education. The teaching is very hands-on and prototyping based.

Fees

The fees are charged semester-wise. The breakdown changed over the years, but averaged out it was 11000 dollars of tuition per semester. Living expenses were around 5k per semester. Rent = ~400USD, groceries = ~300USD, transportation = ~50USD. Other expenses are a personal choice. This breakdown is for those who live off-campus. Those who live on-campus pay at least 1000USD per month. Groceries and other expenses are almost the same.

It is very relevant and gives you the option to pick out your classes and how long you wish to take the course, depending on the classes taken and if you want to do an internship in between. The professors are very friendly and share a lot of knowledge with you on the current scenario of the field

Fees

I took the program to be completed in a year, so my fee was $40,000
