Likes
- Career Fairs - My University helped me to connect with professional people and expanded my network with UH alumni.
- Infrastructure - UH has space or room for everything related to studies, recreational activities, sports, cultural activities, coaching, laboratories, dining, transportation, etc which helped me to balance work-life.
- Resources - UH Library is one of the biggest library in Houston with huge volume of books and systems to do research which helped me to do academic projects.
Dislikes
- Time Management: I did not like the time it takes to process documents related to CPT / I-20.
- Shuttle Facilities: I wish there is free shuttle provided for students staying in the nearby community though we have paid metro.
- On Campus Jobs: Competition for on-campus job is high so getting a part-time job immediately after joining is a concern.
Course Curriculum
- It is a mix of both. I would give 7 on a scale of 10.
- Positive: case study and mentors during project work.
- Negative: tight deadlines for assignments.
- 1 class per day. 3 hours, either in the noon or evening.
- 25-30 is the average number of students in my class.
- 10-15 Indian students are enrolled in my course.
Fees
- $50,000 is the tuition fee (it differs for every course) and hostel fee is between $600 and $700 per month. Meal plan is available for 6 months and 1 year which comes around $2600
- There are three types of methods one can opt. Full-payment in the beginning, or we can split into 4 and pay monthly, or opt deferment plan with interest after 90 days.
- Rent - $650 to $750 per room per month
- Transportation - $100 per month if we use public transport often and cab rarely.
- Food & Groceries - $300-$400 if we cook at home.
